Sorry for the disappearing act! I’ll get to that in a second. First, my food!
Yesterday we had the best deli sandwiches brought in for all of us working hard at Winter Wineland! I had two small turkey on whole wheats.
They were yummy: no mayo…just turkey, cheese, tomato and pickle. I added spicy mustard!
On my break later, I had this odwalla bar:
I liked it but I’m more of a fan with a bar with more protein! This sure tasted good though!
And then right after I got off, there was the spur of the moment decision to head down to San Francisco to listen to a funk band play at The Independent. We grabbed tacos quickly in Santa Rosa before departing—
This is a grilled chicken taco salad with no sour cream….It was actually SO good!!!!! I didn’t eat the taco shell and it was light on the cheese, heavy on the guacamole. Just my style! I never order taco salads out..maybe I should start!
And then we were off. I jump at any chance to go to the city and this was the perfect thing for a rainy Sunday night. I seriously miss going to listen to live music…Charleston had so much of that and Healdsburg has……nothing. Boo. The band was pretty amazing but we didn’t get home until 3 am!! I’m so glad I didn’t drink but I did eat an unpictured Larabar at the show.
The alarm rang at 7 because I have to go to this yoga class at 9:00 and then work at the studio because today is the Lululemon trunk show! Ate a quick bowl of oats made with water, banana and peanut butter:
And drinking a very large mug of strong green tea. Nothing like power yoga on three hours of sleep, huh? There will be a nap in my future once I make it through this class. Hopefully Anna won’t kick my butt too hard. 😉
Wish me luck!

Mmm, that taco salad does look good. As soon as I heal from my wisdom teeth surgery, I’m going to inhale crunchy foods! :>
Sarah (Oc2Seattle)January 18, 2010 at 8:41 am
Good luck! Sounds like a fun night. Hopefully, yoga will wake you up and get you through the day.

candiceJanuary 18, 2010 at 8:54 am
I normally don’t like Mexican food, but I LOVE guacamole 🙂 That taco salad looks delicious!
Chloe (Naturally Frugal)January 18, 2010 at 8:56 am
Wow, I wouldn’t be able to get up and motivate myself to go to power yoga on only 3 hours of sleep so kudos to you! Looks like a great night last night, hopefully you get some rest today after yoga!
Jordan @ Salt Sweat SugarJanuary 18, 2010 at 8:58 am
That sandwich is pretty gorgeous! I think pretty sandwiches taste much better than ugly ones ;]
Mae @ OhhMayJanuary 18, 2010 at 8:58 am
Have a great class and a great nap!! It sounds like you had a fun & delicious time though! 😀

Hope you get your nap!
JennyJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:03 am
I went to mexican last night too! Except I got quesadillas and was severely dissapointed. Not only was it not healthy, but they just got soggy and there was way too much cheese. So much for good eats on sunday night. Glad you had a better one than me!
Heather @ The Joyful KitchenJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:07 am
how cool, a funk band in san francisco! the salad looks delish, too…i’ll take guac over cheese any day 🙂 hope work goes OK, and enjoy your future nap 🙂
justrunJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:11 am
It’s good to be spontaneous when it comes to live music, especially if there’s a possibility of a nap the day after! Have a good day!
ashleighJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:12 am
I love taco salads!!! They are my favorite thing to order out. yours looks delish! Good luck with the yoga today.
Jessica @ The Process of HealingJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:12 am
Oh wow, 3 hours of sleep, girl! Oh well, some things are worth.. especially San Francisco.
And that taco salad looks great! I love a GOOD taco salad but so many times they are so greasy and full of tons and tons of cheese, sour cream, and meat that is not very good.
Cynthia (It All Changes)January 18, 2010 at 9:14 am
I used to love those Odwalla bars but they never kept me full.
And let me just say I’m super jealous of a trunk show for Lululemon.
AmeenaJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:17 am
I don’t know how you do it with so little sleep! Good luck today!
Mama PeaJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:18 am
Work hard, play hard, right? Don’t spend all of that paycheck at the Lululemon show!
Deva (Voracious Vorilee)January 18, 2010 at 9:22 am
Have fun with the trunk show – I’m jealous 🙂 I hope you get your nap soon – it sounds like you need one!
KatharineJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:22 am
Mmm taco salads are delish! I love seeing shows at smaller venues – it has a more personal feel to it. Hope you get to take that nap!
Mackenzie@ thecollegeauthenticJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:36 am
Aaah, your food always looks pretty majestic! Good luck at yoga! I recently picked yoga back up and seriously, I don’t understand how a 3 month hiatus from yoga can make you feel like a sumo wrestler sat on your back after you finally get back into it! 🙂

I plan on mexican tonight! I’m thinking enchiladas although the thattaco salad is looking pretty good. Perhaps an enchilada salad?

ChelseaJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:48 am
It seems 3 hours of sleep was the magic number last night 🙁 At least you did something fun rather than tossing and turning in bed 😉
KarlaJanuary 18, 2010 at 9:52 am
Hope you get a chance to take a nap!
Megan (The Runner's Kitchen)January 18, 2010 at 9:55 am
I love lululemon! They have these great new shirts with silver fibers in them to prevent bacteria growth from sweat. Late nights out can be fun sometimes – that’s what coffee is for 🙂
Erin (Travel, Eat, Repeat)January 18, 2010 at 9:59 am
There’s nothing better than a big scoop of guac. Or, almost nothing better, but it definitely goes on my top 5 favorite foods list. 😀
JilJanuary 18, 2010 at 10:01 am
Those sandwiches look delish and yay for spur of the moment adventures, love them!! 🙂

Kristen @ Change of PaceJanuary 18, 2010 at 10:15 am
Taco salads can be pretty good for you if you know what you are doing! I always do chicken, lettuce, tomato, beans, guac, and a sprinkle of cheese. YUM! 🙂

Oh my Jenna – I give up with yoga 🙂
I try to do 20 minutes easy 3x a week…and I cannot even be motiveated for that…always a busy mind …I think I need to just forget it and wait till my head is on straight some day!
Taco salads and sandwiches look great. Love guacomole.
And I love your oatmeal concoctions – the best…you need more milk and nut butter and some other toss ins and your set – the banana is great in it too…so many combos!
Lauren @ louisianagrownJanuary 18, 2010 at 11:21 am
When I’m tired, yoga is normally the only exercise I can manage. Hope you’re having a great day!

Wow, that does look like a great sandwich! I’m going to have to grab my jar of wasabi mustard and make one for myself. Good thing that I just went to the grocery store and have good bread, because I’m not going anywhere in this New England snow!

I had a question for you about online wellness certificates. Do you know much about them? I saw you are certified with AFPA. I am very interested in the Food Psychology Certificate from The Spencer Institute. Have you heard anything about it?
Thanks for any feedback you can give me, I really appreciate it!

I love live music, and I actually dig going to concerts alone. You meet plenty of interesting people that way. Glad you had a good time!
That taco salad looks divine. That’s one of my all-time favorite Mexican dishes.

I agree, live music is definitely something I appreciate about living in a southern town…especially the “style” of live music we get around here.
Hope yoga + work went well!
