Hey guys!
Having a blast with Christie and Alissa! The three of us have been best friends for 10 years! When we get together we do very silly and awesome things like blast 90’s music and sing at the top of our lungs and stage random dance parties. You know, the usual.
Yay!!!!!! I’m so happy right now 🙂
Today I grabbed a quick lunch at Plant Cafe before picking up the girls from the airport. A cup of carrot soup with salad plus half a chicken and avocado sandwich on sprouted wheat bread:
Immediately I grabbed the girls and we headed over to the ferry building for BlueBottle coffee!
I had a cappuccino and it was faaaabulous.
We played in the Mission district for awhile and then had to make a pit-stop at Humphry Slocombe for some ice cream!!!
I was told this was one place I HAD to go and I was sooooo excited!!!!! What did I have??!
SO good!!! Wow…I really have never even had anything like it. Yum yum yum
After getting incredibly lost about 50 times in downtown San Francisco, I finally found my way back to the interstate and back home to Sonoma County.
Straight to Diavola for dinner!!!!
I’ve had the Cha Cha Cha pizza (pork belly and goat cheese) on my mind now for days and just had to give in to the craving. Totally necessary and Christie claimed it was “the best pizza she’s ever had”. Gahhhhhhh!
The three of us also split two salads—one with arugula, blue cheese, prosciutto and pears and the other with greens, parmesan and persimmons. yummy!
Some nice guy gave us the rest of his family’s bottle of wine that they didn’t finish at dinner and we also got a bottle of prosecco that we ended up taking home with us. 😉
Seriously, we are sitting on my hardwood floor right now painting each other’s nails and talking about boys. Perfect. Tomorrow’s plan includes the coast and the redwood forest….plus a tentative dance party tomorrow night. Obviously!

December 3, 2009 at 8:24 pmI love the ‘old’ GFs with shared history that know your history and can finish your sentences before you can. They are like comfort food. Speaking of which: Killing me with the food pix. Delicious!! I LOVE living in Carmel….but San Francisco and Wine Country food is UNIQUE.
BTW, Jenna. Am starting a new Friday series of ‘Super Female Blogger’ Interviews and wouldn’t even ask you til you’ve finished with your MSS—but did profile you as an example of what’s possible and coming in my announcement:

December 4, 2009 at 5:48 amJenna,
I’ve been following the blog for AGES but lately you’ve been going in a totally different direction from the eat live run idea. I mean, it’s sort of like you’re on vacation the whole time. I’m trying to figure out what your book will even be about. Will it be the healthy living side or the indulgence side? No one actually lives like this all the time, what is your book going to address? It would be nice for us all to live in California and eat all day long!
Jordan @ Salt Sweat Sugar
December 4, 2009 at 5:49 amI wish I had more free time to do stuff like that. I work abour 50 hours a week and never really get time to do that. I’ll live vicariously! Hahha.

December 4, 2009 at 2:21 pmDon’t want to sound creepy or anything, but you really do look better with the added weight. I’ve been reading your blog for such a long time and thought you got too thin at one point. You’re a very pretty girl, but the thinness was incredibly aging on you. Probably due to stress and such, but anyway, you do look SO much prettier. You look like you did in your Paris pics. Keep it up! 🙂
