Give Me That Blah Blah Blah

Hello people.

I’m having a bit of a blah day. Truth is, I woke up at 5am and didn’t fall back to sleep. My eyes burn. I miss my mom. Blah blah blah blah

I tried to perk myself up this morning and made regular ol’ pancakes for a change

Used my favorite Kodiak mix (which is now available in my shop!) along with 1/2 cup egg whites and a bananer.
Actually though it wasn’t very filling at all and I ate a caramel Oikos about 30 minutes later. Oh well. At least breakfast looked pretty!

I wallowed for a bit and then went to the gym to do a Summer Shape Up leg workout. I’m a bit scared actually because last time I did one of Gina’s leg workouts I literally couldn’t walk for four days. Four days! Today seemed to be a bit easier than last week though so we’ll see.
Lunch was a Morningstar Farms pizza burger with leftover chickpea veggie medley and apple slices:

And later,

chocolate cherry protein shake with 1/2 banana, frozen cherries, 1 scoop chocolate protein and 1 cup ice water.
I have to finish an article and some emails but then I might actually lay down and attempt a nap (or reverse that order). I’m horrible at naps though because every time I lay down, even for only 30 minutes, my mind starts whirling about all the stuff I should be doing and have to get done. And then I’ll have to pee because I drink 500 glasses of water a day and it’s then over because once you get up to pee while napping there’s no going back. Am I right or am I right?

I’m sorry you’re feeling down today. I hope you feel better soon. =)

I’m the same way about naps. They make me feel guilty, for some reason?

I still need to try you chickpea medley! Those leftovers look so yummy!

Haha, I feel exactly the same way about peeing while napping. Waking up and having to pee is the worst.

Thank you for this. What is with this week?! I haven’t sleep either. I’m uber cranky. But this made me feel better.

My coworkers probably think something is wrong with me, my bathroom trips are frequent:)

I have the same thing. I whine about having too much to do but when I try to relax, I just end up making lists in my head!

I completely understand the mind-racing + peeing issues with napping you have there. This is why I never nap. Hope your day gets better!

You are so right about the naps! I wish the whole “getting up to pee ruining your sleep thing” would work in the morning too. It would make waking up a whole lot less painful!

I love those Morningstar pizza burgers.

Unfortunately, also was having a foggy-blah-day. June is the coastal fog month along most of No Cal beach cities. When sun goes away am not happy camper. But listened to ‘Put Your Records On’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkEeNpWMvgk
Cheered me up & decided to go for long beach walk despite fog.

Pancakes never fill me up but they’re so delicious. 😀

Your workout sounds killer—love those (but hope for your sake that it’s not a 4-day pain thing this time 😉 )

Missing your mom is the worst!!! I live across the country from my mom and every time we visit each other the goodbye lingers for days. Always depressing after such a great trip. chin up…drink some wine tonight and go to bed early! maybe a good book in there too. XOXO

I had ‘regular ol’ pancakes’ the other day! ok, we changed one thing and tried unsweetened almond milk instead of regular milk. They came out sweeter. Loved it.

Youre right. I fail at napping for the exact same reasons. Including the 500 glasses of water a day. Sigh. That choco-cherry thing is not failing though. I have to get me some frozen cherries!

I hear ya on the peeing all the time thing. Drinking a ton o water will do that to you. The worst is having to wake up in the middle of the night bc you drank too much h2o late at night. Well, at least we’re hydrated!

If I have to get up to use the bathroom when I am trying to sleep I know I’ll never get back to sleep. I try and try, but once I’m up, I’m up!

I hope tomorrow goes much better for you!

    Hey Jenna!!
I totally empathize with being “down”. I can’t even stand being an hour away from my Mom/bff so I really admire you for being such a tough cookie. Know what might make you feeling better?? A delicious latte. Treat yourself!!

Would you be willing to share your sangria recipe?? I could use a glass (or two) right about now! 🙂

    Chin up,
    Christina

I make a list of stuff on my mind before I nap so that I know I can put it out of my mind and I can come back to it when I done resting. Then I can let my mind calm down and nap a little without worrying.

I hate naps for the same exact reason. I have to be completely exhausted to get my brain to nap. I hope you are out of your case of the blahs. It’s no fun but we all go through them from time to time.
