Great Dinner, New Friend

Hi guys!

Dinner with Sarah was great! We ate at Greenwise and sat outside thinking how blessed we are to be sitting outside in short sleeves in January! Sarah is from Minnesota and loooving this Tampa weather (obvi). For dinner I had a large cup (more like a bowl) of corn chowder with an assortment of things from the hot bar—some brown rice, potatoes and two pieces of honey glazed chicken:

After we ate and chatted a bunch, we grocery shopped! I only got a few things today—I’m planning on making some carrot and ginger soup tomorrow so I had to pick up a few ingredients for that. I’m going to be so sick of soup and soft food once this week is up!

I’m at Ryan’s now, just watching tv. For dessert I had a half cup of this deeeeelicious pudding, heated up with cinnamon 🙂

As well as some melon—

And tea

Wow I am EXHAUSTED. Its going to be an early night for sure. I have to be at Greenwise tomorrow morning at 9 for post-orientation and to meet with my new manager so I have no idea what to expect! I’m sort of going into this blind….but I think I start the whole “2 am shift thing” on Tuesday aka very very very late tomorrow night. I’ll know more tomorrow though.

Have a great night!

That corn chowder looks really comforting, because I’m also in a place that’s freezing! Good luck with post-orientation. I’m looking forward to hearing about your job!

Congrats on getting through the tough yoga class & still having the energy & will to go out, meet a (new) friend & shop a bit… one can always have energy for that, I’d say!
I love the Yogi teas, especially for the quote on the tea bag’s string!
Good luck at orientation & orientating yourself to the new schedule. A rest day is in order, for sure! Enjoy your rest & soft foods!

Jenna – it sounds like everything was so amazing this weekend!!! That is awesome….you’re really inspiring me to try yoga for the first time!
BTW, Can I ask what face wash you use?? My face is the SAME way….I can’t go one day without or it gets horrible, breaks out, is red, etc. Right now I’m using purpose face soap and it’s okay, but am curious for what works for you?!?!?

      Melissa,

I use this no-name prescription face wash that I get from my dermatologist. However, I’m hoping to start practicing Ayurveda and balance everything out so I don’t have the horrible ailment anymore! I’ll let you know if I find something that works!

Melissa — just my 2 cents! I have struggled with my skin like crazy but the Proactiv line of products has seriously saved my complexion. It has made a HUGE difference for me!

Adi – hmmmm….I did try Proactiv but it REALLY dried out my skin and I could only last 3 days on it.

Hi Jenna! I have been an avid reader of your blog over the last 6 months and your blog has definitely become one of my favorites. I read it at least once a day! I have never really commented, but am going to really start getting actively involved in the blogworld. I started my own blog about 10 days ago at: http://next6months.wordpress.com. You can find out more about me on my About page. I would LOVE if you could add me to your blogroll and if you have any advice on the blog, I would love to hear it! You have been a real inspiration to me and have helped me find a healthy balance in terms of eating right and exercising. I have gotten wayyy more into yoga because of you and I really admire how you live your life to its fullest everyday! You are doing a great thing by blogging and I really appreciate what you have done for me without even knowing it! Thanks again, Jamie

oh my! i wish i could sit outside right now!! let alone in shortsleeves. lucky duckies. now going outside involves not just do i wear long johns or not, but one pair or two? is it spring yet?

good luck at work tomorrow! the pudding looks delish. i could probably go for a week on only soft foods – i pass on the dental surgery though 😛 i do have to go in for a bit of work this week but it is extremely extremely minor but soft foods will be involved after when my face is still kinda frozen. i’ll think of you!
