Dessert/ Dinner

Blah.

Ugh, didn’t make it to school tonight :(. I felt really exhausted this morning when I woke up, but as the day went on my exhaustion progressed and by the end of the day I just felt like crap! Tired, queasy, achy….I was going to go to school anyways but my body really needs some rest. I’m not missing much since tomorrow is the practical and we are making the same thing we made last night: a Charlotte Royal.

My sandwich today really filled me up! Salmon always does that to me for some reason. I felt so full still 3 hours later that I didn’t need a snack but I ate my granola bar anyways (boredom eating at work, haha). I like those Quaker natural bars but they are a tad sweet. I prefer larabars or think organic bars if given the choice. Too bad those are about double the cost.

For dinner I reclaimed my recipe tester status by making  making Lindsay’s Chana Palak Masala. I can’t give out her secret recipe but just know this was one of the best things I’ve ever done with chickpeas. It was sooo good and just what the doctor ordered tonight. I ate it while watching one of my favorite movies: Last of the Mohicans. (I’m a sap)

My sweet tooth struck as usual so I whipped up some more Lindsay-tester cookies I’ve been eyeing for awhile (no recipe, sorry. Gotta buy the cookbook when it comes out!). They are called PB & J cookies and combine two of my favorite things. I’ll see if you can guess what they are ;). I ate two cookies with some hot cocoa (1 cup soymilk, 1 spoonful cocoa, 1 spoonful cane sugar).

It’s only 8:15 but I’m about to take a bath and get in bed. Hopefully I can get a good night’s sleep tonight and feel better/more rested in the morning.

I really can’t wait for that cookbook… every single recipe of hers that I’ve seen you make looks delicious.

And now you’ve made me crave a sweet hot drink, I might have to make myself something along the lines of cocoa very soon. Yum.

Hope you get some good rest and feel better asap!

When is her cookbook coming out?

Please feel better! Good choice on hanging back from school, give the body a rest. Have fun curling up with Dexter and getting some zzz’s!

I agree…the Quaker bars are too sweet…I love the Lara bars..they cost more because they are made out of nuts and dried fruit which is more costly than oats and sugar…and the odd chocolate chip or raisin you might find in a Quaker bar.
