hey!
I have been nonstop all day, cleaning and packing. I hate, hate, HATE (!!) coming home to a dirty house. So, whenever I travel I always do my laundry before and wash my sheets so I have nice fresh sheets on my bed when I get home. I also clean, do dishes and organize. There’s nothing worse than coming home to a messy house when you are exhausted after a long day of traveling….and I already know that I am going to be exhausted next Wednesday when I come home after a looooong day of traveling.
The weather is AWFUL outside! Freezing and pouring rain. I did get a nice 2 mile run in though before it started to rain and also did some lunges and crunches. Before my workout I ate the only thing in my house—

That’s right—a classic almond butter and jelly sandwich on quinoa bread. Hits the spot, you know? After my workout I made a big green smoothie with spinach, 1 cup almond milk, 1 frozen banana, 1 scoop chocolate SuperFood and 1 tsp maca:

I also had an unpictured cappuccino and a few gummy bears. Gotta keep my energy up! 😉
We were supposed to go out for Ethiopian food tonight with my friend Michaela and her husband but Michaela went home from work sick so plan be was Indian! I think Indian food Wednesdays are a common theme in the blogworld? Hehe
We started with some “indian snacks” (not quite sure what all exactly was on this fun little tray but I tried a little bit of everything!)

In response to your comments earlier….sorry to keep ya hanging about the ever mysterious boyfriend. I have a feeling he will opt to come out of the blog closet soon…but you can’t rush these boys, can you? They have to come around on their own time. 😉 In the meantime, I’ll tell you he’s totally cute and makes me smile.

April 1, 2010 at 4:00 amHope your travels go safely and smoothly! That Indian food looks mah-velous! Any kind of Indian food themed day gets the thumb up from me.
And yes, just like with slow cooking steel cut outs, boys can’t be rushed. Take your time!

April 1, 2010 at 4:13 amWow – bringing romance into the blog!
Do you ever worry about sharing your life with so many Jenna or get “tired of it” – or is it just another thing for you?
I recently seen a book called “A Homemade Life” about a blogger turned into a book writer (Molly Wizenberg I think) – might be interesting too…uh, could someone pay me for that deal?! haha – I’d actually have to blog daily to do that…alas work and life detracts from that…Happy vacay.

April 1, 2010 at 5:31 amhappy Jenna is what makes us readers smile 🙂
And it’s not like introducing the boy to “a few friends” when you have a popular blog and we all somehow think in our minds we are a virtual pal of yours-hee hee! Silly blog readers us!!
On a serious note, thinking of your family and sending you lots of prayers and thoughts as April approaches. I can’t even imagine how much you and your parents miss your beloved brother.Very tragic and I am inspired by your family’s strength and love pulling you all forward in life’s journey. He is with you all obviously wherever you go,surfing away and watching over you.

Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman
April 1, 2010 at 6:09 amMy husband never understands my rational for cleaning the house before we leave for a vacation. He always asks, “So are you cleaning in case someone robs us? Because that’s dumb.” Yeah, so guys don’t get it. But I totally agree. Coming how to a messy house is so stressful!

April 1, 2010 at 10:14 amI have been meaning to try baigan bharta at our local Indian place sometime but I don’t know if I’ve ever had eggplant so I am a bit worried that it will be a bad choice if I end up not liking it! I keep seeing it around the blogworld though so it must be good! I don’t think I’d be led astray! 😉

April 1, 2010 at 11:01 amI’m the same way about cleaning before I travel. It’s a pain because it’s not like you don’t have enough to do before leaving, right? But so worth it to come home and actually want to BE at home 🙂

April 1, 2010 at 11:25 amAm wondering if mystery BF’s name starts with an ‘A.’ I guessed your other big surprise–the reason for NY trip, so if this is correct, think I should get a prize. Suppose it will be an invisible prize going with the theme of non-existent contest. 🙂
