Happy Humpday!
I’m getting ready for a super long day of traveling. Its not so bad traveling from west to east but going back west is always a backbreaker because of the time change. Ugh. I didn’t really sleep well last night so I’m hoping to catch some zzz’s on the plane (even though typically I cannot fall asleep on airplanes!).
Last night I threw together a really quick and simple dinner at the house. Spinach salad with broccoli, blueberries and Annie’s raspberry vinegarette:

And whole wheat pasta with Amy’s sauce, a can of tuna and hot pepper flakes. It actually works!

After dinner Christie and I saw The Last Song!!!! Don’t be hatin’ on poor Miley. The movie was actually super cute and we sobbed our eyes out. I liked Dear John more but this was a perfect girly movie to see with your best friend. I snacked on a larabar during the movie.
This morning I woke up, had a piece of wheat bread with pumpkin butter and then ran a quick 2 miles down King Street and back. I heart King Street SO much…tried to soak it all up before heading 3,000 miles away. Breakfast was oatmeal made with water, 2 egg whites, half a banana, blueberries and almond butter:

I’m gathering all my stuff and heading out the door. I have a super short connection in Atlanta so keep your fingers crossed that I make my flight! Eeek! π

April 7, 2010 at 8:09 amEast/west is always harder than west/east. Flying back to the UK from Aus is always far more exhausting (although it might be because I’m less excited!).
Take care and have a good trip π

April 7, 2010 at 8:24 amCanned tuna in pasta? I’ll have to try that. Sounds like an economical way to incorporate more protein in the carb-saturated dish.

April 7, 2010 at 11:31 amHappy travels home!! The pasta/tuna/sauce thing actually sounds really good. I haven’t eaten tuna in so long since my husband claims it smells like cat food and gags whenever I have it…charmer!
Kristin
April 7, 2010 at 11:34 amEw, that tuna pasta thing sounds yuck! But that’s just ’cause I despise tuna. π
I agree about The Last Song. I didn’t want to see it because of Miley but I ended up loving it! Dear John was better but Miley did a pretty good job.

April 7, 2010 at 11:41 amYummy pasta! I love spaghetti with tuna ! The spinach salad looked very good too!
Jenna, do you ever get bored with eating so healthy ? I sure do. That is why one week I’ll eat super healthy and then the next its junk food galore. I get bored with foods very easily……sigh !
jenna
April 7, 2010 at 1:08 pmTeresa,
hahahahaha I really don’t feel like I DO eat so healthy all the time! While “junk food” has never really been my thing, I do love Haribo gummy bears, red wine, chocolate, falaful and chick fila waffle fries….hehehe π

April 7, 2010 at 12:51 pmAww, I’m glad The Last Song was good – I feel bad for Miley, she gets ragged on way too much. I mean she’s only, what? 17? Anyway, that salad is beauuutiful! Good luck with your travels and getting some sleep!

April 7, 2010 at 1:51 pmI have to disagree about the time change – I think going from west to east is MUCH harder! (I do it a lot living in NYC with both my parents and husbands’ parents on the West Coast.) When I’m heading west, it’s always easy to fall asleep that night because I’m so tired. However, once I’m adjusted to West Coast Time, it’s SO hard to go back east because it is impossible to fall asleep at a reasonable time! Anyone else agree?

April 7, 2010 at 7:25 pmI know the time change thing too well. From Kentucky to Japan is a 13 hour difference during Daylight Saving Time, so going home in August should be very interesting.

April 8, 2010 at 4:47 pmall the disposable bowls; I’ve seen that pattern before! Atl airport wouldn’t take so long to connect if it weren’t for the confused out-of-towners trying to get around. If you know where to go, you’ll be fine!
