Dinner/ Exercise/ Fitness/ Lunch

Here I Go…

This morning at the gym I decided to switch up my routine a little bit to challenge my body more rather than getting into the habit of doing the same ol’ thing. I looked to the fabulous Gina for inspiration and tried out her “burn out” method where you start with heavier weights and low reps and then decrease to lower weights at the end. It definitely felt more challenging to me and I could feel my muscles working! Here’s what I did:

few minutes on the stairmaster to warm up, level 10

Triceps pulldown—2 sets of 10 with 50 lbs, 1 set of 12 at 40 lbs

Lat raises—3 sets of 10 with 5 lbs

Barbell “14s”—3 sets of 14 with 20 lb barbell

Chest press with dumbbells—3 sets of 10 with 15 lbs

Overhead triceps extension—3 sets of 10 with 15 lbs

Pushups with stability ball—2 sets of 10

Seated row—2 sets of 10 with 60 lbs, 1 set of 12 with 50 lbs

When I got home, I had a snack of a protein shake made with 1 scoop chocolate designer whey protein and a cup of water with a petit apple from work! So cute!

I lounged about for awhile, made a grocery list for Sunday and caught up on some emails before getting ready for work and starting lunch. I had to eat early because I gotta get my butt to work!

For some reason I was really craving eggs, so I had an omelet made with 1 egg and 1 egg white with a light laughing cow in the middle and covered with texas pete. On the side, I had two perfect slices of Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin bread (LOVE it!) and a vanilla chobani with pom. seeds. After, I had a handful of grapes.

This will be my first 10 hour shift and I KNEW I needed to pack enough snacks to get me by or I would never make it! For later this afternoon, we have a banana with a spoonful of peanut butter:

And I’ll eat an early dinner around 5 because I won’t have time to eat once service starts and the dessert orders start rolling in! I packed this Kashi meal with a pear for dinner:

I’ve never tried this meal before and am so excited! I love ANYTHING involving coconut!

And, since after I eat, I’ll still have a solid 5 hours of work and running around, I am bringing the maple nut clif bar for energy!

Whew! I’m actually a little nervous! Adam posted pictures of all the fancy desserts so I can look at them when I assemble everything but I just hope everything goes smoothly. I still have so much work to do (such as baking 400 rolls, focaccias and 6 pies) before service begins tonight. I just have to make it through today and tomorrow then Sunday I have the day off!

I will be getting off work (hopefully!) around 10:00, or when the last dessert order is done and I clean my station. I will post a re-cap in the morning!

Have a great day!!!

Blueberrybabe – I don’t have Rudi’s bread, but I do get their bagels. I keep them in the fridge and they last long enough.

Jenna – Good luck with that 10 hr shift! Crazy!

OK, now your killing me. I keep trying to convince my self that I can get by with out a gym pass, but that just brought up so many great gym memories that I need to get back there. Timing, right now it works out better for me to work at home, but a new gym is being built in my small town and Iā€™m now going to check it out. Thanks for the reminder of what a good work out looks like.
