Good morning!
Do you ever wake up and just are in a total fog? That’s me this morning. First of all, I am SO SORE. Like as in, every single part of my body is aching from yoga yesterday. I haven’t been sore like this in a very, very, VERY long time! What is up with that?! Guess I’m out of yoga-shape and that class really did kick my butt!
Second of all I have lost my voice for some reason and sound like a croaking toad. I also, apparently, was talking in my sleep and at one point went “weeeeeeeeeeee” and then “meowwwwwwwwww”. How strange is that?! Ryan said he was cracking up.
I woke up absolutely famished when the alarm went off and so I made a big bowl of cereal for breakkie:

I used 1 cup Post Honey Nut Shredded Wheat, 1/2 cup H2H, 2 tbsp MixMyGranola Recovery Mix all in soymilk and topped with a plethora of big blueberries!
Mint Chocolate Oolong (thanks, Ange!)!

I’m about to catch up on emails, research and write a new article for True/Slant and then for lunch, I’m meeting Anne at Cafe Hey!
Dexter is running around like a mad man right now with his mouse in his mouth. Its pretty amusing!

July 9, 2009 at 8:09 amYoga will get ya every time! Plus Jen’s class is super hard!! She would be so proud =)
The fog may be explained by the view out of the window right now…this weather…yuck! Hope your day gets brighter =)
Enjoy lunch at Cafe Hey! Still need to try that!

July 9, 2009 at 8:16 amI was in a fog yesterday, myself. Some days are just like that..ugh!

July 9, 2009 at 8:24 amHey Jenna – did you get those bowls from Restoration Hardware? We were given a set of four as a gift and I LOVE them! Would like to buy more, but we already have plenty of bowls (and not enough storage in our apartment!). They are the perfect size for a bowl of cereal as a snack. Our other bowls are pretty big and it’s easy to go overboard, especially if it’s Kashi Heart to Heart 🙂

July 9, 2009 at 8:30 amLizzie,
Actually I got those latte bowls from Anthropologie. I think they are pretty generic though and you can find them at different places!

July 9, 2009 at 8:30 amRegarding the post below this one… you got those sweaters from Zara?! Where is there a Zara in the US besides NYC?! I shopped in Zara in Spain and LOVED it!
jenna
July 9, 2009 at 8:32 amKelly,
There’s Zaras everywhere (or so I think?)!! Our Zara is sort of hit or miss but I’ve gotten a really cute dress from there and you can beat $9.50 cardigans!

July 9, 2009 at 9:27 amToo funny! My boyfriend always talks in his sleep. My favorite was the time I tried to tell him he was talking in his sleep (as he was doing it), and he responded “I know, but wait!” and continued going on about whatever before saying “Yeah, I gotta go. She says I’m talking in my sleep again.”

July 9, 2009 at 9:39 amOh my gosh those blueberries look SO bright and beautiful. I’m loving the dishware too. And YES about waking up in a total fog – it’s awful! When I get too much sleep I feel groggy and sore the whole day! Hope your voice comes back soon 🙂
Kristy
July 9, 2009 at 9:47 amMint chocolate oolong…oh that sounds heavenly!
People do some funny things in their sleep. My sister used to talk/walk in her sleep all the time. My mom once found her under the kitchen table in the middle of the night. When she asked her what she was doing my sister said she was looking for the remote control.

July 9, 2009 at 9:48 amBeautiful blueberries. Ps. I made your whole wheat banana blueberry muffins yesterday and dropped some off at my in-laws. I’m officially the favorite daugther in law!

July 9, 2009 at 11:19 amHi Jenna,
I have a quick question for you – do you actually break out the measuring cups and spoons when making breakfast/snacks, or do you just know what a cup of cereal or a tablespoon of granola, etc looks like at this point? I guess I am mostly curious because I never want to bother with measuring spoons and knives if I’m just making a piece of almond butter toast, but don’t really know exactly how much I’m really using!!! Any chance you could show a picture of, say, how you determine how much nut butter/oil/earth balance to use on things? Thanks and hope your throat feels better – tea, or even water with honey and lemon (and maybe a little ginger, yum) always seems to help me…

July 9, 2009 at 12:02 pmHey Jenna!
Remember when you tried that way of eating where you would have to eat fruit alone, and only drink warm water in the morning? Check out Gena’s post on her Vegan blog- I think the eating fruit alone philosophy must stem from the results of eating it with combined things and not being digested well.
Interesting! I’m going to try to keep it separate if possible. Did you give up on that aspect?

July 9, 2009 at 12:02 pmYour blueberries look beautiful. They’re next on my list. I just used up our thing of blackberries, so I’m fresh out of berries and read for more.

July 9, 2009 at 12:05 pmThose blueberries look to die for!
That is funny about talking in your sleep, because I apparently do it all of the time. I even had a meowing episode like yours, but it was a little more intense: I started off with …” 1, 2 , 3″ and then all of the sudden I go “meow meow meow meow meow!” and that lasted for a good minute of meowing. Another time, my cousin was sleeping across the room and I called her name as if she was a cat, and she responded with a “mew!”
super funny, lol.

July 9, 2009 at 12:08 pmOh kitties are so funny. Mine has been going crazy this morning after I woke up with her paw on my mouth and her nose on mine. I have definitely said meow in my sleep too, apparently I long to be a cat…

July 9, 2009 at 12:08 pmOof, I hope you feel better and less-foggy!

July 9, 2009 at 12:16 pmOh, yeah! Jenna, I meant to ask if you have seen/heard of the movie “Bottle Shock”? It is about the development of the CA wine industry. Maybe a fun way to study up before your interview? I haven’t seen it, but thought you might be interested.

July 9, 2009 at 2:01 pmHi Jenna…I’ve been a lurker for a few months now…I really love your blog and I especially love the W.W Banana Blueberry Muffin recipe you posted the other day. It was awesome. Thank you so much!
Good luck with Murphy Goode this next week.

July 9, 2009 at 2:37 pmHey Jenna! I just wanted to add my congratulations to all the other readers on your upcoming job interview! That is SO exciting! I was just wondering if you were planning on doing a blogger/reader meet-up while in Healdsburg- or if you’ll even have time? My husband’s grandparents live there and we’ve been meaning to visit them all summer (I only live about 3 hours away). It’d be so fun to be able to get together and chat with you in person!
By the way, I totally agree with the other reader who suggested Cafe Gratitude- it is an experience not to be missed!
love, Lis

July 9, 2009 at 2:50 pmJust want to say thanks for the whole wheat blueberry banana muffin recipe. Blueberry muffins are one of my favorites baked goods, but they are so unhealthy so I rarely indulge. Having these allows me to enjoy them now more than ever! I also love whole wheat blueberry pancakes. Too bad no one else in my family appreciates healthy alternatives. I’m training my two year old son to like them though.
Teddy
July 9, 2009 at 3:00 pmI’ve talked in my sleep before for sure- not sure I’ve meow’d though. LOL. I like it!

July 9, 2009 at 3:01 pmCongrats on making the final cut, Jenna — I hope you get the job!! How amazing and fun would that be?! And your blueberries look magnificent. It’s ALMOST blueberry time here in Michigan and I CAN’T WAIT!

July 9, 2009 at 3:55 pmHi Jenna!
How is it writing for True/Slant? I’ve been thinking of doing a little freelance writing myself lately but there are so many sites out there that are nothing more than “writer mills” (i.e. low pay and high turnover).
Oh, and your cereal pics gave me the urge to go buy some berries! 🙂
