Leaving On a Jet Plane

Got my bags packed and I’m ready to go!!!

HLSlogo2.jpg

Tomorrow morning my flight leaves Tampa at 7 a.m. (!!!) but I DID manage to get a nonstop to Boston so I get in at 10:00. Super excited about that! I have lots of great reading material:

IMG_2610.JPG
(Polly got me loving The Message….I never thought I would be a fan since I’m more of a traditional girl but I LOVE IT! Its so…..readable and intriguing! I mean who wouldn’t love a bible where they use phrases like “religion is silly. Just trust God”?! Amen to that!!)

Lots of Summit paperwork!

Snacks!

IMG_2612.JPG
And I’m sort of stuffing my carry on to the max as we speak. I have the tendency to pack, errr, my whole closet when I travel so this is difficult for me. But hey, its always better to overpack than underpack, right?! 😉
Today I really didn’t snack but I did “graze”. First on pineapple:

Then on a little raw granola:

My “speech” tonight went well! Actually it really wasn’t hard at all….I spoke a few minutes about my fundraising successes (err the BLOG, obviously!) to the new group of TNT athletes for the winter season. I could see the fear in their eyes about how much they have to raise….its a tough task, no doubt! It was funny because after I was done speaking one girl raised her hand and was like “Are you “the” Jenna from EatLiveRun??” Small word, huh?! Funny stuff.
I got home rather late and ate a quick plate of shrimp (cooked with olive oil and garlic), steamed sugar snap peas and a biscotti for good measure 🙂

Mmmm wine!

Aaaaaand I’m off!!! I’m THRILLED to be able to meet some of you in a few days! I can almost assure you there will be another Summit in the future so those that didn’t get in, don’t fret! Also, we will be live streaming all of Saturday’s events from The Healthy Living Summit website.
No bloggie in the morning since Jenna has to wake up at 5:15! Once in Boston I’m meeting Kath at the airport and together are taking the T to our hotel then meeting Tina for lunch! I will be twittering the entire time so stay tuned there!
See you sooooooooooooooon! 🙂

I love my Message Bible! It is so easy to get into and read and the more you read it the more you will love it! It is also fun to compare verses from the Message to your normal NIV or whatever version you have because sometime you can get even more meaning out of two different versions of the same verse. I usually just read my Message Bible but when I find a verse that really sticks out to me I usually look it up in my other Bible too!

How exciting! Can’t wait to hear all about it! Shrimp looks amazing, do you buy it frozen or fresh? I always have trouble cooking with shrimp because I have a huge bag of frozen shrimp, but they shrivel down so much when I defrost them under running water. Maybe I should just use fresh?

Good lookin’ biscotti! I’m interested in the “19th Wife” – I’ve seen it at Borders. Perhaps my new summer read? I just finished Wally Lamb’s “The Hour I First Believed”. The ending was a surprise, but I loved it!

I LOVE The Message! I worked with the high school youth group at church & it was what they all read so I gave it a go! I love it’s direct & “this is how it is” style!

Another you might really like is True Identity (Bible for Women.) My Mom bought it for me & it’s so awesome with an index for issues such as body image, self-esteem & directs you to verses/passages that relate to those things!

Have a great trip & it’s nice to see you becoming your old self again 🙂

Hi Jenna – I’m leaving for Boston tonight and can’t wait!
I tried a Balance Chocolate Mint bar yesterday, and you weren’t kidding – so good. I don’t know if Whole Foodsdoes the same sales throughout the country, but Balance bars are on sale for 50 cents at my WF until Sept 1st. I’m going back to stock up!

    BTW…loved the 19th Wife! Very interesting…
If you like history-ish books I would also highly recommend “These Is My Words – The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine” by Nancy Turner. It is outstanding! I usually read too fast so I forget what I read, but this is one not to forget!
    Have fun this weekend!
