Hello 🙂
Long day at work! I opened and closed. Met a bunch of blog readers though during a 20 person tasting so that was awesome! I love putting faces to names and y’all never fail to make me smile.
Fueled on trail mix this morning—
Late lunch of TJ’s split pea soup, an orange, bread with brie and 2 squares of toblerone! 😉
Today was TOTALLY a soup day! Rainy and cold!! I’m definitely going to make some homemade soup this week…just need to formulate a recipe in my mind. Hmmmm
Bar this afternoon—
I always pop these into the microwave for 10 seconds and they are just like soft, chewy cookies. Love ’em.
I stayed at work an hour or so late and the only things I wanted when I left were my slippers, a hot bath and food.
2 egg omelet, bread with butter, grapes and Deux Terres. Mmmmmm perfect. And all eaten on the floor.
Dessert was a piece of organic chocolate and a windmill cookie. I’m convinced this is the best combo ever. Especially when you pair it with herbal tea.
Just got news that MY MOM is coming for a week next month to stay with me!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait. I miss my parents so much and feel so far away out here on my own. I can’t wait to introduce her to my new little town!
I’m off to catch up on my emails then read. Tomorrow I just have a meeting in the morning at work and then I have until Thursday off. Soup making time?

October 19, 2009 at 7:59 pmThat split pea soup does NOT look like it came from a can, so thick and hearty looking. Ah, TJ’s. That place can do no wrong in my book.

October 19, 2009 at 10:06 pmI loooove split pea soup. My mom makes a mean split pea soup…I think I might have to grab that recipe from her. 🙂 Perfect hearty, healthy, comfort food. The omelet, grapes, bread & butter, and wine combo looks divine! And yay for your mom coming to visit!!

October 19, 2009 at 10:18 pmHow is Trader Joe’s soup? I use your recipe for split pea soup at LEAST once a month because it’s so simple and delicious. I always chop up fresh carrots and toss them in for a little crunch!

That omelet looked delish – and I don’t think there is anything wrong with eating on the floor – simplicity can be a beautiful thing!

October 20, 2009 at 4:35 amThat’s so exciting you’ll get to show your mom around your new home!! Soup sounds good right now…I’m always never sure what kind to pick up at the store as most as really high in salt for a regular basis. Some Amy’s brands are good. But I must make my own too! And after a day of work the first thing I reach for is some wine…and chocolate (unfortunately it’s usually more than a square :/. Have a good day !
And extra thanks for your advice re: the Yoga Training – it helps to know anyone’s perspective – if anyone wants to chime in and check out my ‘dilemna’ on my blog, I’d appreciate it! 🙂
