Morning!
Its a pretty rainy Monday morning in my neck of the woods. I was motivated to jump out of bed though because I have spinning at 8:30!
Breakfast du jour was a breakfast cookie topped with 1/3 cup 2% Fage—
I did the standard procedure for the cookie—1/2 cup oats, 1/2 banana, 1/2 scoop Sun Warrior, 1 scoop raw almond butter and 1 tbsp almond milk. 1 tbsp of liquid = a perfect crumbly cookie, I have discovered! Hit up Gina’s blog for more cookie info as she is the mastmind behind it all! 😉 Adding the greek yogurt to the top adds more staying power + protein to fuel me through my intense spinning class!
What motivates YOU to get out of bed in the morning?

May 18, 2009 at 5:19 amThat looks yummy.
Work is what motivates me to get up this early during the week 🙂 I like working out before work so I can just come home and relax and not have to worry about fitting a workout in in the afternoon. Plus, I just feel more energized if I start the day off with a workout. Have a great week Jenna!

May 18, 2009 at 5:55 amDuty. I HATE waking up in the morning. In fact, I am sitting here bitterly sipping coffee right now. Once I have 2 cups, I’ll be a chipper, energetic person. Today though, with the rain falling? I want to lay in bed. FOREVER. (Or more likely, just an hour or so longer.)
Have a great day!!

May 18, 2009 at 6:07 amWhen I wake up in the morning I’m usually pretty darn hungry, so typically breakfast is what coaxes me out of bed in the morning. I’m definitely going to have to try one of those breakfast cookies!

May 18, 2009 at 6:08 amI need to try a breakfast cookie again. Mine turned out all moist and not-together so I’ve shied away.

May 18, 2009 at 6:10 amBreakfast always motivates me to get out of bed. I always soak my oats overnight and plan the flavor combo so I have something to look forward to.
That cookie is amazing! The Fage on top looks like whipped cream! I wish they had vegan greek yogurt haha

May 18, 2009 at 6:19 amWhat motivates me to get up is a half hour or hour of reading something uplifting before I do ANYTHING else! My favorite way to start the day, especially when I pair it with a strong cup of coffee once every now and then.

May 18, 2009 at 6:25 amThat bfast cookie looks delishous..I think this will be the next thing to try! Hope your spinning class goes well! What motivates me to get out of bed in the am?? well…back in university…I used to be so lazy..I would sleep literally all day and be awake at night..and I just remember how crappy I felt during that time…after losing almost 40 pounds I’v noticed my internal alarmclock has totally reversed and I’m usually up at the crack of dawn every day!…I never wanna go back to those being up all night days and feeling crappy lol..so yea..I guess knowing that I’m doing my body good is what motivates me! 🙂

May 18, 2009 at 6:31 amYummy breakfast cookie. I do not need much to get motivated to get out of bed…I am an early bird.

May 18, 2009 at 6:39 amI actually love waking up to rain! I’m enjoying it =) Hmm, what gets me moving and out of bed…I’m not sure! Maybe just knowing I will be surrounded by lots of love all day? Hope you enjoy SPIN!

May 18, 2009 at 6:42 amI’m only motivated to get out of bed if I have something fun planned for the day 😀

May 18, 2009 at 6:43 amHi Jenna! Your breakfast cookies ALWAYS look so darn delicious. Glad to hear that you had such a fun and eventful weekend. The festival looked like so much fun!
I’m an early riser naturally so it’s not hard for me to get up in the morning. But I always look forward to coffee, kashi waffles, fruit, and watching Regis & Kelly! That is the perfect way to start my day. (And a prayer to the good Lord of course!)

May 18, 2009 at 6:49 amYum! Your breakfast cookies always look so delish. I must try one soon. Breakfast is what motivates me in the morning. I always eat my breakfast first thing at my desk at work while I check my email. Knowing that I have to wait until I get to work to dive into my bowl of oats never fails to get me up at 6am. By the way, I tried your greek yogurt/PB2 peanut butter mousse discovery for dessert last night and it rocked my world. I didn’t even crave my usual dark chocolate square before bed! I hope you have an awesome spin class!

May 18, 2009 at 6:53 amMy kids motivate me in the morning. Like clockwork, no matter what time they went to bed the night before, they’re out of bed and ready to go between 6 and 6:10 am. But days that I am up before the sun I feel so much better, have more energy, am more productive.
The breakfast cookies are yummy, but I’m hopelessly devoted to raw chia pudding now!

May 18, 2009 at 7:05 amMy crying baby is pretty good motivation, even at 4 or 5 a.m., and coffee doesn’t hurt either!

May 18, 2009 at 7:17 amKnowing I’m going to eat a big, fat bowl of oats 🙂 Never fails to get me moving.

May 18, 2009 at 7:40 amMy strawberry coconut breakfast cookie got my buns out of bed this morning! I am going to have to try it topped with some Greek yogurt too – sometimes those cookies (as delish as they are!) don’t hold me over for too long either! 🙂

May 18, 2009 at 7:48 amUsually the sun is shining bright here in CO and it helps me get up. Also my kids wanting breakfast…

May 18, 2009 at 7:58 amI keep meaning to try the breakfast cookie with yogurt idea. Maybe tomorrow.
I usually wake up naturally around 6 am which is just the right time for my morning routine to get to work. Now, if I have to get up any earlier, it take a lot to motivate me.

May 18, 2009 at 8:43 amHey Jenna — just wanted to say I have been enjoying following your blog! What gets me up in the morning? My alarm! LOL j/k! I never have trouble getting up in the morning once the alarm goes off — I think I’m always invigorated with the possibilities of a new day! 🙂

May 18, 2009 at 9:00 amThis morning was tough…I always go to Bikram yoga on monday mornings but I had only had 5 hours of sleep…was so tired…anyways, SOMEHOW, I made it out of bed and to class. Which was great because I really pushed myself!!! 🙂 But to answer your question…I don’t relaly know what gets me out of bed! I guess knowing that I will have started the day off on a good foot with exercise 😉
Jess
May 18, 2009 at 9:05 amI jump out of bed because I know if I linger I won’t be able to workout before I head to work, and then I’ll be sad.
Hallie
May 18, 2009 at 9:09 amUMM what motivates me? Usually my dog. Her little nose in my face saying, “MOM I have to go potty!” gets me out of bed. That and, you know, that place I go that gives me money twice a month…aka work 😉
Ashley
May 18, 2009 at 9:10 amI’m motivated to get out of bed each morning because I know I want to make today even better than tomorrow! 🙂

May 18, 2009 at 9:25 ambreakfast — and, in particular, some form of oatmeal — definitely gets me out of bed each morning!

May 18, 2009 at 9:38 amI’m motivated to get up because I like to workout right away. My favorite moment of the morning is in the shower after having sweated for a while, when the endorphins are still flowing. Nothing quite like that feeling! That’s a good-looking b’fast cookie. I’m a big fan myself – lately I’ve been adding a 1/4 avocado smushed into a similar mix to yours, plus cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves – tastes like banana bread! Happy Monday. 🙂

May 18, 2009 at 9:40 amTwo little kids are pretty good motivation! They’re pretty persuasive, as well! Besides, no matter what, I always find something fun that we’re going to do, make, explore and it gives us all something to look forward to.
I think I will try those breakfast cookies, they look yummy!

May 18, 2009 at 9:52 amUnless it is the weekend, I always wake up to my alarm clock. Never does my body just “wake up”.
This may be weird, but I am always motivated to get up and get in the shower, wash my face, brush my teeth. I always feel a bit gross in the morning and the thought of being all squeeky clean gets me moving.
That and my cat meows her face off until I feed her. 🙂

May 18, 2009 at 10:02 amBreakfast definitely motivates me in the morning, but there is always some sort of assignment or a work out even that I feel I must get to ASAP. But really, oats and coffee/ cereal and coffee. Oh! And sunshine and warm weather because I want to be outside and get my day moving!
Lindsey (fiteats)
May 18, 2009 at 10:37 amI get out of bed the easiest when I am meeting someone for a workout or teaching a class! If someone’s waiting for me, I have to get up no matter how much I’d like to stay in bed! Love the cookie idea!
