I didn’t sleep at all last night. I had the aches (even more sore because I can’t move my legs after yesterday’s workout), chills, stuffy nose, sore throat…and I’m sure I had a fever but I don’t have a thermy so I can’t tell. I think I woke up every thirty minutes and looked at the clock, just praying it was finally time to wake up so I didn’t have to lay in misery anymore. When I finally did get up, I stood up out of bed and almost fell over because I was so dizzy! Did I catch Miss Gliding Calm’s illness?!! Regardless, I knew I had to get dressed because there was no one even to call at work at that hour to tell them I was sick. I’m the first one there every morning and the only one until Adam arrives around 8:30.
I knew I couldn’t stop much this morning….especially something hot like oatmeal, so I made a smoothie instead to sip on.
It was a very tasty combo of 1 scoop Jay Robb’s chocolate protein, 1 tbsp almond butter, 1 cup silk light vanilla and 1/2 banana (all blended up with ice).
By some sheer miracle, I lasted an hour and a half at work until Adam got there, took one look at me and sent me home. I laid down for a little while (couldn’t get comfy though—even breathing hurts!) and then got up, took an Aleve and am getting ready to drive home. I don’t care how old you are. There’s just something about needing YOUR bed and your mom when you feel awful!
I did manage to stomach a toasted organic mini waffle with almond butter and preserves a little while ago…
I’m as ready as I’ll ever be. Time to drive across Florida and get in my bed!
