Breakfast

Not Cool

Woke up at 5:00 this morning because my body still feels like its on the east coast. NOT COOL! I was going to try to wait to eat breakfast until normal time (7-ish) but around 5:45 I was starving so I just said what the heck, here we go

IMG_4528
Overnight oats with 1/3 c oats, 1 T chia seeds, 1/2 c almond milk, 1/2 c yogurt, banana, blueberries, almond butter, cinnamon and agave! mmmmm
In other news, I cannot walk. I AM SO SORE!!! I seriously haven’t been this sore in many, many moons…but I also haven’t done that many lunges in a veryyyy long time. Honestly, I’m even too sore to go to yoga today (the thought of warrior one scares me) but that’s okay because I really have to get back to my Gran Fondo training. Unfortunately Phillip is out of town so today is the first time I’m venturing out to ride all on my own. However, I consulted my training partner from 3,000 miles away and she reassured me I would be fine. 🙂
Time to ride!

Oh I know the feeling. I remember one time specifically my BFF and I did a bazillion calf raises. Oh. my. gosh. The next few days were murder! I need to get back to lunges though…work that booty! ;>

Oh lordie, lunges always make me SO sore. After I do a bunch of lunges (after a hiatus), it feels almost as bad as post-marathon soreness. Heh. I recommend an epsom salt bath and some ice cream! Always makes me feel better 🙂

Lunges are perfect for making a person sore, aren’t they? I get that same feeling whenever I go hiking, but usually it starts to feel more like a “good sore” in the following days. 😀

Don’t you appreciate a good workout like that, though? It’s when you work your butt off and DON’T hurt the next day … those are the ones that worry me! LOL!

Sorry you woke up so early – would it make you feel better to know that I’m up earlier than that most days? At least you have a good breakfast to show for it!

As painful as it is, feeling sore is such a rewarding feeling!! You know that you are building strength in your body–and that is going to be essential for race day. I hate waking up when I’m not supposed to. I went to bed way early last night for a 545am yoga class…and ended up waking up around 4am hungry for breakfast (a mix of going to bed earlier and EXCITEMENT for some vinyasa!) I usually don’t wake up until 7:30/8ish…big change! I am a big schedule person but sometimes you just have to go with the flow! Hope you can get back on track! Best, Nora

I sort of like feeling sore, which I know sounds strange but I like knowing that I pushed my body. I understand that you can be just as effective and be pain free but sometimes a little soreness makes me feel great!

I half expected to be feeling the same way this morning after going to a women’s boxing class on Monday night (it usually takes a day to kick in), but it’s actually OK. Too bad I am going to really test that theory by going to kickboxing tonight – eek! 🙂
Also, eat when you’re hungry. I had 2 poached eggs on english muffins and a green monster this morning and within an hour of getting to work I was munching on a bowl of raisin bran. Some days are weirder than others, but I think the problems start when you eat and you’re NOT hungry! Plus I am pretty sure you lunged your way to that breakfast without realizing it 🙂
