Puppies, Girlfriends and Chocolate

Hi guys!

Look who I met today!!

IMG_3351

Java! This is Sarah’s new puppy and I fell in love. I can’t wait to get my own someday….so jealous!

IMG_3350

Is it just me or does this picture of Sarah look really professional?! Must be the background….or I just rock as a photographer. Obviously its the latter. 😉

Sarah and I had a great time of girl talk/puppy loving. Girlfriends are great. We chatted about puppies, boys, God, wine, food, blogs….I’m so excited to go with her and Jessica to Deeper Still next weekend!!!

This afternoon I snacked on an oikos + cereal—

IMG_3349

And made a fantastic dinner!

IMG_3352

Totally winged it and made some simple red lentil dal by caramelizing half an onion in olive oil, adding healthy pinches of ginger, cumin seed, garam masala, cayenne pepper, coriander and sea salt and then adding 1/2 cup lentils, 1 can diced tomatoes and 3 cups water. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes and it was just maaaarvelous. I made enough for two for yummy leftovers tomorrow!

Served it over a baked sweet potatey with a dollop of plain Oikos and had a salad with goddess dressing on the side.

But…..dessert was even better…………..

IMG_3355

Y’all, this is what dreams are made of.

IMG_3356

No words. Just love.

Surprisingly I’m not a fan of dark chocolate dreams. It just doesn’t taste like PB or dark chocolate to me. I much prefer Maranatha’s Dark chocolate almond spread or Rapunzel’s organic chocolate hazelnut spread

Hi jenna! your food looks amazingly delicioussss
i love peanut butter, almond butter, any type of nut butter, but I can’t control myself!!!!!!! seriously In one day, i’ll end up eating like 4 slices of bread with peanut butter, so most times i avoid buying it at all….do you have any advice on self control??!!
    Thanks,

Is that pb similar to Nutella? I love Nutella, but it has trans fats 🙁 so I tend to eat it sparingly.

I see that PB every time I go to the grocery and pick it up longingly. But I know the second I’m out the door it will be in my stomach and gone. I can’t be trusted with Nutella so that PB is certainly a no-no.

I’ve been wanting to experiment with Indian food making. I will need to purchase a whole bunch of spices first though.

I’d have Nooo self-control with that chocolate peanut butter…

I think that everyone is getting puppies in the blog world. 🙂

You’ve inspired me to really look at my eating habits. 1. No freezedried coffee–normal, amazing Timorese coffee this morning.

Thanks for always inspiring us and being human.

Java appreciates her fan mail and wants me to tell everyone that she is a bichonpoo. She is an 8 week ball of love who enjoys water, chewing on our furniture, and getting caught in the rain.

(Maybe not the last one-we haven’t let her get caught in the rain yet.)

It was great to see you last night. And yes, perhaps you have missed your calling as a portrait photographer.

Eating clean has changed my life and my view on food. I have so much more energy than I ever have had, and this helps me keep up with Baby J! I have struggled with dieting, weight loss and a unhealthy view towards food – thinking it was the enemy. Eating clean has made me realize that food makes you live and to enjoy every bit of it!
