Howdy!
Today I shall share with you my love and passion for all things shoes. I love shoes. I love flip-flops, flats, heels, wedges, boots and strappy things. I don’t discriminate — in my mind, all shoes are created equal. Well…almost all shoes. If a shoe is super duper cute but uncomfortable, I will never buy it. To me, comfort is key. No one wants to be tending to an awful blister at a concert, now do they? Shoes can brighten up any “blah” outfit and always fit…no matter how many salted fudge brownies you ate the night before!
Here are a few of my current favorites!
Exhibit One. The short suede wedge. From Tar-jay {Target} and only $29. I believe they are Merona brand. I love the neutral taupe color and the way they go with absolutely everything from jeans to dresses. I think they are the most comfortable Target shoe I have ever walked on. Seriously! I feel like I could walk for days in these and they are short enough to minimize my risk of face-planting in airports and grocery stores. I just love ’em! They also come in a very pretty dark blue shade {which you can see Kate wearing here} as well as black.
Moving on to these short, leather ankle boots. These are the Zipcode boots from Madewell. They are ridiculously comfortable and my favorite way to wear them is with a dress. I used to think all ankle boots were unflattering on me, but then I discovered that it’s all about the cut of the boot. Boots that are cut right below the ankle are way more flattering than boots that are cut right above the ankle. Get it? I really like these but they are not Adam’s favorite. What’s with guys and short boots?
Patent leather burgundy heels. These are Franco Sarto and I got them at TJ Maxx last year. They are also very, very comfortable and I just love the seasonal color! I like to wear these with jeans and a back or white top. They make any outfit fun!
Yellow suede pumps! I found these on clearance a few months ago on the Urban Outfitters website and snagged them because I’m obsessed with mustard color anything. They still have them {but they are not on sale anymore- boo} and I highly recommend these shoes! They are comfy and cute…plus, the color is so fun. I always get compliments when I wear these. I love how different and unique the heel is. They are very cute with cropped jeans!
Tan flats. These are from Banana Republic and have some sort of memory foam cushion in them that makes them perfect for those days when you’re on your feet from morning till night. They are a neutral color and go with everything. Perfect for throwing in your suitcase when you travel!
And finally, my very favorite: cowboy boots. These were a “I-just-published-a-book-gift” to myself. The last time I bought a pair of cowboy boots I was 18 and having some fun on Ebay so I figured if I average a pair every ten years, I’m in good shape. Truth be told, I fell IN LOVE with these Corral Vintage boots when Rachel had them on during our trip to Oregon last month. And like any intense relationship, I fell hard…fast. I just couldn’t stop thinking about them. Finally, I manned up and asked them out {aka ordered them online from a little Western store in Chicago}. Since then, it’s been butterflies and roses.
We are definitely enjoying our life together.
Goodbye for now!

I adore shoes as well, they can take a simple outfit to a whole new level in a half second. I’m a fairly frugal person, but shoes are one thing I’ll splurge on 🙂

September 18, 2012 at 5:28 amA great pair of shoes makes a woman feel like she can conquer anything – whether they be gorgeous sleek heels, warm cozy boots, or a comfortable pair of running shoes. I love this post, it’s total eye candy for my shoe-loving self; the red pumps and cowgirl boots are my favorite!
