Good morning!
I finally got my act together this morning and went out for an early 8.2 mile run. Technically, if I was sticking to my training plan, I should have done 11 miles but since I don’t know this area at all and have to be on my feet all day long working, I just decided to do 8 instead. Call me slacker. 😉 I’m totally going to get rocked by this half marathon. However, I must admit how absolutely AMAZING it is to run in nice cool, crisp weather with no humidity. I ran back and forth down this trail behind the guy’s house and it was soooo gorgeous. I looove it all!
Before I left I had a Nature’s Path Optimum energy bar and then when I got back I had oatmeal with greek yogurt, apple, honey, cinnamon and almond butter. Unfortunately there was a little mix up in the memory cards though and the pictures were lost. Don’t hate me, please! I think you all have seen enough oatmeal pictures though to last you the rest of your life, no?
I did enjoy a lovely cup of coffee in my new mug!
I saw this mug last night at Bovolo and knew it had to be mine. I love the color!
So today I am pouring wine all day at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair. Tons and tons of wineries will have booths there and people just walk around and try different wine and food. It seems like something I would want to GO to, so hopefully working it will be fun as well.
Trying to pack and prepare for my trip to NYC tomorrow as well….I can’t believe I’m getting ready to fly BACK across the country again. This is insane.
I shall return!

October 3, 2009 at 10:36 amI love the mug! I’ve said this a million times but I am so jealous and happy for you (at the same time) that you live in California now! Living in Cali has been one of my dreams for a while and I am living vicariously through you! I love reading your posts! They make so happy!

October 3, 2009 at 11:56 amCongrats on the run! 8.2 is amazing- and so is being cognizant about what’s going on in your life instead of h-core sticking to a plan.
Coffee cup = Amazing
Have fun in NYC – you are such and inspiration for managing a totally hectic at full speed life!

October 3, 2009 at 12:00 pm8.2 is amazing – and kudos to you for being cognizant of what makes sense for you versus sticking h-core to a training plan.
The mug = amazing (although I would probably be a total hypocrite and drink my South African tea out of it haha)
Enjoy NYC – you are such an inspiration for rocking an intense, hectic high speed life!

October 3, 2009 at 12:01 pmGreat job on the run. I did the Fort 4 Fitness 13.1 in Fort Wayne, IN last weekend with a not too shabby time of 1:42. I know what you mean about having time to train and just fitting everything in. You’ll be great in the race, though! It always amazes me how much more energy I have on the day of. Have a great day of pouring! Wish I were one of the lucky ones tasting:)

October 3, 2009 at 4:07 pmYou are most certainly not a slacker! It takes time to get your “ducks in a row” and so what if you don’t completely dominate at the race? It’s not about you… right!?! 🙂
That mug is divine. I love it!

October 3, 2009 at 4:10 pmHope you had a wonderful afternoon of pouring wine. Sometimes it’s fun to be on the service side of things cause you get to see so many people enjoying the experience.

October 3, 2009 at 4:35 pmI’m so glad I just found your blog and digged into it a bit. I too am a healthy lifestyle blogger and am participating in Team in Training! No worries about not getting the 11 mi in today…I was scheduled for 10 mi and only got 8.6 in because of doing the Race for the Cure 5k (ran to and from it with one of the coaches, plus achieved a 5k PR). Congrats on your fundraising, excellent work! I obviously need to get some tips from you 🙂 You’re an inspiration!

October 3, 2009 at 4:46 pm8.2 miles is still great! You’d be amazing how far endorphins can take you on race day! I ran my first half marathon on a whim and had never done more than 7 miles and lived to tell the tale.

October 4, 2009 at 6:08 amYou are not a slacker with 8 miles. You need to think about it as you did what you needed and not what you were “supposed to”. Good for you!
Hopefully you don’t get too jet lagged with this trip. YOu just adjusted so take good care of yourself.
