Bake some chocolate chip cookies for your cute neighbor (or boyfriend, or husband, or kids, or grandpa or…yourself!). If nothing else, it will make your house smell amazing!
You should also make a fun pink cocktail and go dancing. Even if it’s just in your living room.
Maybe tomorrow night, make a fresh dinner with veggies from the farmer’s market…
[finish dinner off with a cookie]
And on Sunday, take a hour walk outside. If you’re not snowed in, that is. If you are snowed in, make these instead:
And don’t forget to read! Always read.
Happy Friday, friends!

J.
January 21, 2011 at 12:59 pmYep, I’m snowed in. And like you (I think) my only form of cardio is typically a very short, leisure walk outside. And even thats impossible. Oh well, just gives me an extra 30 minutes to eat and sleep 🙂
jenna
January 21, 2011 at 1:20 pma walk is a walk! Better a short one than none at all 🙂
J.
January 21, 2011 at 3:10 pmOne short walk for 365 days/year. Repeat. I am a very short walker. I guess you’re right, its something. Even if it is my only thing everyday for a long, long time.

January 21, 2011 at 3:16 pmCrazy you should mention it. I just did make Chocolate Chip cookies. I’m really loving Malibu and Dt. Cherry 7-up (it’s pink) but there are NO open farmers markets in MN during the winter. This morning we started out at -28 and climbed to -1, so I think I will be making the smores brownies!

January 21, 2011 at 5:19 pmI need to go shopping for most of the ingredients for those snowed in recipes, lol. What do you think of Hotel On the Corner Of….??? I was thinking of downloading it but I’m still making my way thru some real (as in, hand held) books so it’s on the backburner. You need to read Trudy’s Promise…I think you’d love it. It made me cry in a good way.

January 21, 2011 at 5:22 pmwhat a good weekend plan… .i’ll do it all in between running 12 miles, getting a new kitchen table (well, a new-to-me kitchen table), and making 100+ cheesecake cupcakes. seriously. 🙂

January 21, 2011 at 6:21 pmThis weekend you should see Sarah’s Key if you can find it near you. It was such an excellent adaptation of the book, and I remember that you liked the book. It just came to Australia (where I am), so it’s probably in wider release in California. Enjoy (if you do see it!).

January 21, 2011 at 6:39 pmHaha, it’s -10 here right now so I like the idea of dancing in the living room and making S’more Brownies instead of hiking! 🙂

January 21, 2011 at 7:00 pmJenna-
I have a post request for you —
I am currently a college student trying to eat a little healthier but have a VERY VERY limited budget. I have struggled with disordered eating and finally have made a promise to myself to get my eating under control and get back to a healthy normal. Do you have any quick/cheap recipe ideas for lunch/dinner?
Thanks and keep up the good work! 🙂

January 21, 2011 at 7:04 pmHmmm… Those are all excellent ideas! I am making a four layer cake tomorrow simply because I want to! Hahaha. Aren’t those the best kinds? I love “just because” cakes! 😀
