Tired Eyes

So what about that Blog Summit???!?!!! I’m SO excited! 🙂

Someone woke up with major tired eyes this morning:

IMG_1035.JPG

Last night Ryan and I watched “He’s Just Not That Into You” (which I really did not care for!) and then went to bed around 11:00. For the life of me, I just couldn’t sleep. I had so much on my mind and then finally, around 11:30, came back out to the living room to work on my laptop a little bit. Needless to say, I didn’t end up getting to bed before 1:00 and then alarm went off at 7, which makes Jenna a very tired girl.

Alas, I was brought back to semi-life with a “Brown Monster” this morning. We are running incredibly low on spinach and the ice machine is broken so it had a little less “oomf” than I would have liked (Ryan was a dear and let me use the rest of the spinach while he stuffed romaine lettuce and, um, celery in his Monster) but it didn’t fail to open my eyes a wee bit wider.

I used a frozen naner, a scoop of chocolate Amazing Meal, a scoop of wheatgrass, a cup of almond milk, a big scoop of Naturally More pb and probably only a cup of spinach.

If you missed hearing the AMAZING news last night, Amazing Grass is giving ELR readers pretty much the sale of the century. The 2lb containers of Amazing Meal are now 40% off until June 25th AND when you order using my special code (EatLiveRun40%AM) you also will receive a super cool free shaker. I couldn’t live without mine…..makes drinking these smoothies so much more fun 🙂

Click on the container below to order NOW! 🙂

Its such an icky day outside….sunshine, where art thou??! I was planning on swimming laps but not anymore. I was so busy this morning that I am putting off exercising until the afternoon so I can get more done. Around 11:30, took a lunch break though!

This would a Whole Food’s salmon burger on Ezekiel bread with organic honey mustard and greens. Blue corn chips and kiwi on the side! And, yes, I love to eat the kiwi skin! 😉
I’m pressing forward this afternoon a few projects and dinner will probably be low-key since Ryan has a late meeting. Hope the sun is out wherever YOU are and remember, only three days left to submit a recipe for the new e-cookbook! Send everything to HelpJennaRun@gmail.com !

Yum! Lunch looks delish! Do you really eat the skin of the kiwi? I guess I wasn’t really aware that you could. lol
Sorry you’re so tired…I had one of those nights too and have quite the tired looking eyes today at work as well!

I sometimes have those sort of nights – my mind just starts working over time and I can’t fall asleep at all.

I always feel so tired the next day. It helps if I can squeeze in a nap. And getting in a workout seems to help revive me too.

I eat kiwi skin too – I never knew anybody didn’t! I think it tastes wonderful! Hmmm . . . maybe I will have to buy some kiwi now. 🙂

Hmm, I’ve never tried kiwi skin before, I think I might have to now! I agree with Heather (comment above) I loved He’s Just Not That Into You. But of course, we all have our different likes and dislikes. 🙂 I hope you can get some rest this afternoon!

I’m with Katie, Boston is too far away and too expensive for me! I’m really excited to hear about the summit from all the attendees though – sounds like it’ll be a great time for everyone who can go!

He’s Just Not That Into You is everything that’s wrong with movies today. It’s not only insulting to women, but just a complete and utter evisceration and mockery of the female psyche. Hollywood needs to start making more films with strong, realistic, females as lead characters. Okay, sorry for that rant.
Jenna, I’m so excited for the summit and hope I’m one of the lucky 125!

    Jenna,

I am so excited about your e-cookbook. I have just recently started getting into actually following a recipe (after years of simply “throwing together ingredients”) and I know my bf will be thrilled with the new additions to my repertoire!

On another note, did you travel to Lyon when you lived in Paris- or anyone else have any good recommendations for the Alps/Lyon region? Thanks!

Maybe you could get a nap in later? Sorry you didn’t like the movie, I thought it was decent and while not all females are like those characters, I know a few who are and I think, while an unfortunate reality, it ultimately sends a good message. Have a great weekend!

    Jenna-

Do you know if the discount applies to the amazing grass 2lb of the other powders? I am really sensitive to protein powders and wanted to get the green kind that is not protein.

    Thank you.

    • jenna
      June 19, 2009 at 2:14 pm

      Kristen,

Nope—only the 2lb bulk container of Amazing Meal—any flavor! Sorry about that!

  • katie
    June 19, 2009 at 1:23 pm

ahh! the 2 lb containers of green superfood and chocolate green superfood are sold out! do you know if they have plans to restock before the deal ends or if they will extend the deal? OR do you have recommendations of another “flavor” to try?

how did ryan like the romaine and celery in his gm? i always wonder which greens you can taste and which you can’t.

    • jenna
      June 19, 2009 at 2:13 pm

      Leslie,

He almost gagged! No celery smoothies! lol!

      Katie,

The 40% discount is ONLY good towards the 2lb container of AMAZING MEAL, not the Super Food. You’re right, the chocolate super food is sold out but the chocolate Amazing Meal is not!

    June 19, 2009 at 2:58 pm

It would be really cool if Amazing Grass could send out samples! I am so afraid to spend money on something I may not like.

The blog summit sounds like fun! I wonder if you could get the attention of FoodNetwork to see if they will feature the summit in one of thier specials!? Or maybe some healthy living mags? I can just imagine what kind of attention that would bring to your blogs!!

Sorry to hear that you didn’t get much sleep last night. Hope your day gets a lot better! 🙂 Ryan was such a sweetite to let you use the spinach!

Question: Which product ended up being your favorite to add in to your green smoothies? I’ve tried their Green SuperFood so far and loved it, but I was wondering which product you liked best?

Hey Jenna! I just went to whole food and bought a sample of the chocolate superfood to make sure I liked it before I bought the big one and it was really good!
I wonder what the difference is between the Chocolate Super Food and the just the chocolate Amazing Meal? Do you know if they taste similar?
    Thxs!

    • jenna
      June 19, 2009 at 5:22 pm

      Lexie,

The chocolate amazing meal has everything the super food has in it PLUS added protein powder…that’s why its more expensive! But definitely worth it in my mind 🙂

hey baby girl! I hope those puppy dog eyes got a bit better today, although a tired day is okay I think. Hugs!

I wish I could do the summit…I was so hoping it would be in Chicago or a middle of the US city, say perhaps, Indianapolis? 😉

We have so much going on in August and with Abbers going back to school the week following the Summit, Pol will be a no go this year.

BUT… I am sooo excited to see you in Orlando!!! 😀

We’ll be there the first week of August. The week before the week of the Summit! I would love to meet you, sweet Jenna girl. D and I could maybe meet you and R and even for just a bit, in between my Mickey and Minnie shmoozing. 🙂

Love you!!! Have a wonderful weekend. I’ll be thinking of you on Sunday at my yoga workshop, my yoga little sis. XOXO

It’s funny how different amounts of sleep people need. When I read that you went to bed at 1 and got up at 7, I thought “Hey, that’s my sleep schedule every night!” It’s enough for me though, and I work two jobs, so I don’t really have a choice.

What a delicious looking sandwich! Yum!

We’re out of spinach too. 🙁 Our commissary will run out and not get it back for weeks. Thus, I went to take advantage of the Amazing Meal offer but alas, the shipping to Guam was $185 and they haven’t responded to my email. So we’re headed out in tow today to pay double for spinach so I’m not out anymore! 😉

It’s tough to wake up exhausted, hope you have some downtime to recharge a bit!
