Dinner

Welcome to Moe’s!

Blah! STILL no power! Now we are going on 8 hours…….this is quick because I’m off to seek air conditioning at school but here’s my dinner! Since I can’t open the fridge and I can’t cook, I ran over to Moe’s next door and picked up favorite—-a Homewrecker Streaker (no tortilla) with tofu!

I got light rice and cheese instead of the whopping handfuls they put on your meals there. I also got black beans and tons of veggies! Despite this being mostly veggie filled, it was absolutely enormous and I could only finish about half! It was super tasty though and a nice treat since I don’t eat out on the weekdays very often.

When I was in college, Moe’s was one door down from my apartment and my friend and I would go basically every day before our night class….so, I sort of burned myself out of it (and I gained some weight from eating all those chips!!) and haven’t had it in a while. The thing I love about Moe’s though is that it’s easy to make conscious decisions because you dictate what and how much of everything is put on. And their tofu is quite tasty! 🙂

Though I am quite full now, I’m sure I’ll be hungry for a snack later. Good thing I brought my favorite!

I’m off to school………the power BETTER be on when I get back! 🙁

Sorry to hear about the power – I hope it all works out by the time you get home. That salad looks awesome. At least the power outage hasn’t affected your photos!

Next time you go to Moes would you terribly mind posting a picture of the sign. I’m in NYC but I think there might be one near us. The menu looks fabulous but the service seems terrible (I walked in one morning, door was wide open, and started to ask what time they opened and the man flipped out that they were closed. duh! that’s why I wanted to know when you opened. I was a waitress for years so I usually go with the “the customer is always a jackass” policy, but he was sooo angry!) so I wanted to hear a good recommendation before I spent my money there.

(That became a very long post on a very unimportant topic)

Sorry that you don’t have power!

At least you have your PB lara bar. Someday those are going to magically show up on my stores shelves. I feel like the only one who hasn’t tried one!

AH, I loved Moe’s when I lived in Philly. I never got a salad though. Looks good.

Bummer about the power – hope it’s back on by now. 🙂

OMG that Moe’s salad looks A.MAAAZING! I’ve seen Moe’s so many times, but I’ve never actually gone in, generalizing that I wouldn’t find much I desired there! (I don’t like spicy food… I know, I know, taboo on this blog! lol)

So glad that you posted this! It’s AMAZING and that cilantro on top puts it OVER THE TOP gorgeous too! Your blog = B.O.M.B. (Well, duh.)

    ModelBehavior,

I got my bachelors in English with a concentration (instead of a minor) in creative writing—I specialized in writing fiction so I declared that but then midway through my senior year I found a total and complete love for writing poetry! Last year in France I studied memoir and food writing and hope to someday (!!) publish a memoir of my time in culinary school with recipes included. There! Now I have told you guys my life plans…if only writing paid the bills…….sigh.

POWER IS BACK ON!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank gooooooooooooodness!

You poor thing! I can’t believe they were so cavalier about shutting off your power with no notice… what if there had been an elderly or sick person living there?

Moe’s has a very comprehensive nutrition website, which I always appreciate!

Kelly, Mel, AND Twinks: Sisters from another Mister, we are! I am with the three of you!!! I just don’t care for them… Puriod.

This may, however, stem from the fact that I don’t like nuts/nut butters at all. Ppl tell me I’m either “CRAZY” or “BLESSED” lol.
