Will Swim For Burritos

Well, Ryan and I had a great workout this morning and an actual fitness club! I did shoulders, triceps and biceps. Here was my routine this morning:

2 minutes on treadmill to warm up

3 sets of triceps press on the machine–60 lbs. 12 reps each

3 sets of shoulder raises on the machine. 40 lbs. 12 reps each

3 sets of lateral raises on the machine. 15 lbs. 12 reps each

3 reps of shoulder raises with a cable. 40 lbs. 10 reps each

3 reps of bicep curls on the machine. 30 lbs. 10 reps each

3 reps of bicep curls using a 20 lb curl-bar. 10 reps each

3 reps of assisted pull ups. 30 lbs assisted weight. 12 reps each

3 sets of overhead triceps extensions. 20 lbs. 12 reps eachΒ

After all that I was ready to put on my bikini and lay out by the pool while Ryan swam! But…I ended up jumping in and swimming some laps along with him—mainly breast stroke. All this Olympic swimming is really motivating me! I was worn out by the end for sure! It was a super workout because I was actually at a gym with tons of new-fangled equipment that my ghetto apartment gym just does not have. We stayed at the gym for almost two hours (but some of that time was spent either swimming or laying in the sun!)

I ate half of this kashi roll bar after my workout:

And then Ryan was done swimming, we headed over to Tijuana Flatts for lunch. I had a blackened chicken “power-lite” burrito, which means they used a whole wheat wrap, reduced fat cheese and no sour cream. So nice that they are health conscious and offer this!! It was fulled with veggies and I dumped tons of super hot sauce on it! I opted not for the greasy chips that came with it and was glad I did because this burrito was very filling on its own.

Ryan had some super pork combo platter and I tried a bite of his quesadilla as well as a couple bites of this amazing black beans and rice.

Oh! And for people that have been wondering if I have gained a few pounds since starting to train with more intensity, I actually got on the scale today for the first time in about two months and saw that I had actually lost five pounds. Very weird and that is totally not my goal. Guess I need to eat more! Haha πŸ™‚

We are off to lay out by the pool on this gorgeous day!

    Jenna,

I could never have the willpower to turn to Tijuanas chips as they are amazing. Since you lost five pounds you should have just ate them, haha. πŸ™‚

A good thng for training is to do 5 sets of 10 with a heavy weight with 10 seconds rest in between… you gte such a burn… and it is very hard for woman to gain muscle weight, you will see shifts in your body but not neccisarily on the scale….great work out!

Ya, that burrito looks amazing! There’s a place in my old hometown of Kalamazoo, MI called “The Big Burrito” that makes a healthier version with a wheat burrito, chicken, and veggies like that and I miss it greatly!

Love the pic of the “guns” from the other day, Jenna…way to go, the gym time is definitely paying off!!

Good job on the swimming. I hate it! Running and swimming definitely do not seem to translate well, at least for me.

    smjohnson30 — I hope you see this again… I can’t believe you’re from Kalamazoo! That’s where I was born/raised πŸ™‚ Yet somehow, I’ve never heard of/been to this Big Burrito place… I think it’s time for a google search!
