I was doing the boat pose from yoga last night and I think hanging out in that position for a while really works too! Heather July 27, 2008 at 4:11 pm Hi Jenna, Great video! I know you love your yoga and have been enjoying yoga from home via YogaDownloads, so I thought I would share what I found for free at Yoga Today, which I wrote about (http://www.hangrypants.com/?p=57). Just another way to supplement yoga class. – Heather sue July 27, 2008 at 4:40 pm great ab workout video! looks very simple. gonna try these! thanks! 🙂 erica July 27, 2008 at 4:44 pm what a fabulous ab workout! i tried some of the moves out, and I definitely felt the burn! keep up the great videos jenna! 🙂 Jenn July 27, 2008 at 5:06 pm Awesome video, Jenna! It’s always great to see what other people are doing to “feel the burn” 🙂 Love this new segment! Lily July 27, 2008 at 5:15 pm Nice video, and I especially liked your emphasis on form. Yours was textbook 🙂 I do planks often, and I’m familiar with lots of the variations, but for the basic one that you showed, I was wondering what you thought about adding weight? I can hold a forearm plank (in form) for 2 minutes. I use weights when I do crunches, so I thought maybe I could try adding weight to planks, but I don’t know how? My idea was that I could put stuff in a backpack and wear it? Does anyone have any ideas? I don’t want to put weight on a weird place and hurt my back or stress it oddly. thanks! polly July 27, 2008 at 5:17 pm Great ab workout, Jenna! I recognized the “eagle legs crunches” from yoga, and I think I’ll do those in class tomorrow now! thanks bunches. C July 27, 2008 at 5:33 pm Awesome Ab workout, Jenna! You should try doing them with reps like this: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-263-266-12415-0,00.html alwaysroom4dessert July 27, 2008 at 9:56 pm Thank you for posting that video! I was just about to head out to the gym when I saw your video, it’s always nice to switch up the ab routine and I definitely felt the burn! Steph July 27, 2008 at 10:21 pm thanks! i’m going to add the one your yoga instructor taught you to my routine Emily W. July 27, 2008 at 10:53 pm Thanks!!!! Lucy July 27, 2008 at 11:15 pm I like doing planks with my arms on a stability ball. It adds another level of intensity because your abs are working hard to keep you stable on that ball! Also, you can try balancing your feet on a small ball, which is always hard for me. This gets you more bang for the buck! Also when I am doing planks on the floor, I always check the mirrors to make sure that my arm from shoulder to elbow is straight and perpendicular to the floor. If my elbow is behind my shoulder, it makes the plank easier to hold… which I sometimes do.. hehe =) Alicia July 27, 2008 at 11:17 pm Thanks for taking the time out to do a video on abs for us. I will try out some moves like the one with eagle pose and the other one that incorporates dumb-bell. 🙂 Karen July 27, 2008 at 11:45 pm Jenna, Awesome video! Your verbal and visual instructions were easy to follow. Thanks for putting it together. I can’t wait to see your next video. Alyssa July 28, 2008 at 1:12 am Thank you so much Jenna! It was really great to see your form and some great ideas to add to my routine. I was starting to get bored with my routine. Thanks again!! Jo July 28, 2008 at 5:23 pm thanks jenna – that’s great. I’m always trying to find new ab moves to spice things up – after a while they get easy and you feel they’re not working as well so I like to vary them. I love that ‘burn’ feeling – makes you feel like they’re working!!!! I feel my stomach shrinking as I’m doing them (purely psychological but hey!) More vids would be great – maybe arm exercises? thanks Audrey August 1, 2008 at 11:30 am This is a great ab workout! I could really feel it working!
