Thanks for the cute and informational workout video!! I was doing the boat pose from yoga last night and I think hanging out in that position for a while really works too!
I know you love your yoga and have been enjoying yoga from home via YogaDownloads, so I thought I would share what I found for free at Yoga Today, which I wrote about (http://www.hangrypants.com/?p=57). Just another way to supplement yoga class.
Awesome video, Jenna! It’s always great to see what other people are doing to “feel the burn” 🙂 Love this new segment!

Nice video, and I especially liked your emphasis on form. Yours was textbook 🙂 I do planks often, and I’m familiar with lots of the variations, but for the basic one that you showed, I was wondering what you thought about adding weight? I can hold a forearm plank (in form) for 2 minutes. I use weights when I do crunches, so I thought maybe I could try adding weight to planks, but I don’t know how? My idea was that I could put stuff in a backpack and wear it? Does anyone have any ideas? I don’t want to put weight on a weird place and hurt my back or stress it oddly. thanks!

Great ab workout, Jenna! I recognized the “eagle legs crunches” from yoga, and I think I’ll do those in class tomorrow now! thanks bunches.
Great video, Jenna! You are just too cute and you make everything seem so accessible and, dare I say, fun! You even make me want to start working out regularly- which would be a major step for me! Thanks for being such a great source of information on everything from healthy eating to tight abs to cute shoes!

I like doing planks with my arms on a stability ball. It adds another level of intensity because your abs are working hard to keep you stable on that ball! Also, you can try balancing your feet on a small ball, which is always hard for me. This gets you more bang for the buck!
Also when I am doing planks on the floor, I always check the mirrors to make sure that my arm from shoulder to elbow is straight and perpendicular to the floor. If my elbow is behind my shoulder, it makes the plank easier to hold… which I sometimes do.. hehe =)

thanks jenna – that’s great. I’m always trying to find new ab moves to spice things up – after a while they get easy and you feel they’re not working as well so I like to vary them. I love that ‘burn’ feeling – makes you feel like they’re working!!!! I feel my stomach shrinking as I’m doing them (purely psychological but hey!)
More vids would be great – maybe arm exercises?
thanks
