Can’t Stop Dancing!
by jenna on December 21, 2009
Hey y’all!
I seriously have no idea how I have so much energy right now, running on only like 4 hours of sleep + no coffee. It’s aaaaamazing! However, I did decide that 30 intense minutes of a Dave Farmar podcast was enough yoga for today….sometimes half an hour is clearly enough, especially when you got the workout of your life the night before by dancing for hours and hours. If I could pick any form of exercise to do for the rest of my life, dance parties would be obviously be it.
I just ate an early lunch of a Quorn burger topped with Amy’s veggie baked beans and hot sauce (I forgot my new hot sauce at the guys house last night…the horror!!) with carrots, a piece of pepperjack cheese and an apple:
And busted into my new tea! I can’t find sugar cookie tea ANYWHERE so this had to do…I’m still on the prowl though; every time I go to the store I scour the tea section!
We are about to go throw my laundry into
Hardy’s washing machine down the street (thanks,
Hardy!!) and then get manicures. I got my mom a manicure as one of her Christmas presents and she got me one for one of mine, so we are going and having some major girl time at
Hotel Healdsburg this afternoon.

Then, perhaps a wine tasting or two, some writing I need to get done, and then my mom is making me my FAVORITE dinner tonight, which is this un-freakin-believable fettucine dish with escarole, brie and pancetta. No seriously, I’ve been
dreaming about it since the last time she made it when I still lived in Tampa. My mom is an amazing cook.
Have a great day, friends!

What a fun day with your mom!
yum. candy cane lane is my favorite of the holiday teas!!
manicures with your mom sounds like the perfect afternoon – enjoy it!
Of all places, I found that tea at Ralph’s, in a special holiday carton “station”. It was not with the regular teas. It is soooo good. I will go back to stock up.
You can’t find SCSR tea!? Tragic!! Send me your address and I’ll get you some for Christmas
Have a fun day with your mom!
And a tip: I have seen Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride Tea at EVERY whole foods that I have gone into since November. I can *almost* guarantee that you’ll find it there.
The spa at Hotel Healdsburg is fab. I still very sparingly use my fig scrub from there
My husband’s company has had their offsite there-while he works, I go to the spa-ahhhhh.
I had major issues finding the Sugar Cookie but I found it yesterday at the Whole Foods in San Mateo-I danced a little jig. I would imagine that the Whole Foods up there would have it too.
Great idea!! Have you run a search for the tea on the Celestial Seasonings website? That might help!
Have you run a search on the Celestial Seasonings website? That might help you find it!
Dance parties = my favorite form of ANYTHING in the world, not just exercise.
I saw the Sugar Cookie tea, oddly enough, at Bed Bath & Beyond, a TON of it! If there is a BB&B by you you might want to check there. Random I know…
Love doing girly things with my mom, it’s so fun. And that tea sounds great – I”ll have to try some!
Hooray for dishes cooked by mom! Especially if they contain brie. I LOVE brie so much, but I only ever have it around the holidays…
Jenna’s just kidding.
There were THIRTY-SEVEN people over last night because I totally didn’t mess up the invitations.
Oh yeah, and there was mistletoe EVERYWHERE.
I can’t find Sleigh Ride anywhere either
Have fun getting your manicures!
I can’t find Sugar Cookie tea in any of my stores either!
Aw, sounds like a really great day with your mom! Have fun!
Have fun with your mom!
Aw, aren’t Moms the best?! I’m really close to my Mom, too. There’s something so therapuic about Mama-time. I hope you have lots of fun, Jenna!
Also: I, too have been dreaming of your Mom’s escarole brie and pancetta dish ever since I made it!! I inhaled every drop with a big glass of wine, then I fell down and died it was so good.
PS – I’m a long time reader, but hardly ever comment. Trying to participate more on the blogs I read. (pretty much yours, Kath’s and Caitlin’s)
Sounds like a nice afternoon with your mom! I love the candy cane lane tea just as much as sugar cookie!
I always wake up dancing and singing after a whole night of it. It just sticks in your soul!
I hope you enjoy your day with your mom!
Dancing is really the best workout ever!
that tea is so hard to find! like you, i’ve been searching high and low for months, and i FINALLY found it today! i’m not going to lie, it made my week
keep searching!!
♥ lindsey
I found SCSR at my Dollar General. I got the last box, but all the grocery stores were sold out.
I keep seeing that tea in the grocery and haven’t picked it up yet — looks good!
Just so you know Jenna I did the search for that tea on their website and they led me on a crazy search from grocery store to grocery store. No luck. Not even an empty section… None of them carried it
You could also order it from http://www.naturalgrocers.com
It’s on sale right now!
I keep hoping for some little comment about your personal life
Especially after the mistletoe comment made by Rocky!!
Ooooooooh manicures AND pasta! What a day
What are your favorite Dave Farmer podcasts?
Question about the sugar cookie tea…I was so happy to find it after reading about it on a lot of food blogs…BUT it tastes like water!! I let it steep for a long time too…it smells good but zero taste. Is that how it is? Cant fig out why it is so popular? Somebody fill me in!!
Manicure and fun food! What could be better! I wish my mom liked to cook! She never wants to
It’s always me making dinner for as long as I can remember.
Have fun with your mom! I can’t wait to see the dish she is making!
4 hours of sleep is pretty common for me nowadays, but I don’t drink coffee.
I don’t know how I make it through… I did get nine hours last night though
Have a wonderful time getting pampered, writing, and eating delicious food!
Yay for dishes cooked by mom! I’ve got one in the plans for tonight, too! I’m glad you can at least be close to your family this holiday if not at home
I really envy your relationship with your mom. I wish my mother and I were close like that. Enjoy!!!
i couldnt find the sugar cookie anywhere in cali… i finally found some in washington, and bought 4 boxes.
Serious! I know. That tea has been hard to track down. I fianlly found it the other day. At two different stores I have seen it at, it was not in the tea section. It was on a Holiday tea display. Good luck
My Mom and I love getting pedicures together-Enjoy!
Sounds like a fun evening
Enjoy your mom-time Jenna!
Jenna,
My husband made the BEST ice cream for us…candy cane cookies and cream. HELLO!!!
The Candy Cane Tea looks so good! I’m going to find it right now…or tomorrow when I actually go to the store.
Target has had the sugar cookie tea every time I’ve been there!
That happens to me too- where you’re so tired you get hyper lol. I’ve been looking for that tea!
So lucky you and ‘the guys’ found each other. How wonderful…manicure, wine tasting and the dinner sounds amazing. Fun times!
I think I remember reading about that escarole dish your mom made the last time you ate it. Delicious! Enjoy the mama manicures, mama time, and mama food!
Do you ever work?
Dancing is definitely my favorite form of exercise!!!
have a great night with your mom!
Jenna
Dance parties are the best! Enjoy your mom-daughter manis – so fun =)
Candy Cane Lane is my FAVORITE tea. Have a good time Jenna!
Mmm I want to try that tea!! Have fun with your mama!
I just got some holiday tea, eggnog. However it taste a little funky when I had it yesterday. Maybe I will try it one more time before I make my finally decision. However, you can never go wrong with candy cane.
To Cara:
Jenna stated in a previous post that she was on holidays until early January. You know, it being Christmas and all.
Aw, sounds like an awesome day with your mom! And I agree, dance parties are where it is at!! Your mom’s cooking sounds amazing! Lucky girl!
I almost cried with joy in the Target aisle when I found SCSR, and then I flipped it over and saw that it was not Gluten Free. At that point I left the store to cry in my car. Darn you Celestial Seasonings
That is my fav Christmas tea!
Ohh I’m so glad you had a great hot sauce party!!
Enjoy that tea, I’m still bitter I can’t find ANY of the holiday flavors!!!
Oh wow, what beautiful plans with your mom. Time should definitely be spent with loved ones I think.
I have not seen any sugar cookie either. Sounds nice though, if it tastes like sugar cookies it must be decent!
hmmmm don’t be too bummed about the tea, I bought every single holiday flavor (all five) and the sugar cookie was by far the worst, my mom thought so too. It has very little flavor and is super boring, the gingerbread however is something to write home about, if you can find that one it is really all you need
Can’t find that tea either grrrr…do have the candy cane and gingerbread though! also had nutcracker and sugar plum before…loving it mixed with hot chocolate too – the real kind, no ‘lite’ stuff
…
(i think , my skillz are less than par…)
to anyone who likes almond butter – i just posted almond butta’ cookieesssss yum
Dancing is definitely the best exercise ever–especially if it happens to be with friends and in a kitchen….
So jealous!
The days I have tons of unexpected energy always end with a big crash. I hope the same is not true for you.
If you can’t find the tea, let me know I would be happy to mail you some boxes! Our Publix has them!
I haven’t tried it yet, I know I really need to get on it. Enjoy time with your mom!!
the gingerbread one is my fave! I’m glad you had a dance party! too bad you didn’t vlog it!
ahh so jelly in the bellyof your day!! mani’s with mom are the BESTTTT
never tried that candy cane lane but it sounds deliciuos and the perfect winter treat
enjoy your day Jenna!!
Have so much fun with your mom (and dad when he comes! and Hardy! haha). I’m glad things seem to be on the up and up
Have a great time with your mom! That’s awesome that you get to spend some quality time with her
I think that Candy Cane tea would probably be as the Sugar Cookie one.. Candy Cane Lane? That’s pretty sweet.
Have an amazzzzing time with your momma, I’m spending time with mine today and can’t wait! Nothing as nice as a manicure but still, it should be fun.
I love fun seasonal twists on drinks! Peppermint tea never tasted better than when it’s named CandyCane!
Enjoy your mama time! Sounds like y’all are great friends
Moms are the best.
Candycane Lane is the BEST. I stock up on it (literally, I’ve bought out stores before) so I can drink it year ’round. Sadly, I cannot find the elusive Sugar Cookie Tea either.
That Candy Cane Lane box is so much prettier than the style I have seen. Do you want me to send you some sugar cookie sleigh ride if they still have some in my store?
I have been trying to find the candy cane tea EVERYWHERE!!! I want to try it. You can search for stores that sell the sugar cookie tea on Celestial Seasonings’ website here:
http://www.celestialseasonings.com/products/detail.html/holiday-teas/sugar-cookie-sleigh-ride
Enjoy!
Not sure what sugar cookie tea is (though if I ever find it I’ll CERTAINLY have to try it!!!) but I just got this tea called Good Earth Teas. The Original Sweet and Spicy tea is exactly that – sweet, cinnamony with some sort of spicy kick, perhaps cloves or cardamom? You must try it. It requires no sweetening at all and tastes so rich that you can refill you mug three times on one teabag and still have great tasting tea. Hm, must make myself a tea now.
Candy Cane Lane is my favorite tea; I drink this all year long…it’s amazing and impossible to find here in Manhattan.
Merry Christmas, Jenna!
