….dear Eat, Live, Run! Happy birthday to you!
You’re really getting old….a big four year old now! Has it really been four years? That’s crazy talk. I’m so thankful for those of you that have been reading since the very beginning (I would link to my very first post but it’s highly embarrassing)Β and for those that just found this blog yesterday!
You make me smile.
Here’s to the next four years! It’s going to be the best yet. Below is a list of my very favorite posts over the past four years. Never would I have ever imagined that I would still be blogging four years later when I started this little WordPress blog in December of 2007. Like anything, there’s been ups and downs and I’m so grateful that I stuck with it and continue to share my life with guys on a daily basis. It’s super fun and I can’t imagine doing anything else.

December 8, 2011 at 3:28 pmHappy Birthday to ELR! I feel like I’ve written this to you numerous times before, but your blog (and a few others) have changed my life. I know that’s a bold statement to make, but it’s 100% true. I started reading in Spring 2010 while I was studying abroad in Florence, and have loved following your journey ever since. I’ve discovered my love for cooking, photography, new books, and Mad Men through reading your posts. You have a wonderful thing going on here, and I sincerely look forward to what else is to come! I think God has truly blessed you (and us readers) with your gift of storytelling. THANK YOU!

December 8, 2011 at 5:40 pmHappy Birthday ELR! I am so happy I happened across you while internet surfing one year ago. I have looked back at many of your older posts since. I just love this site, past and present. It make ME happy. Glad your readers make you happy too. Jenna, I find your honesty and humor so refreshing and your personal story quite touching. And I am so happy how successfully your site has evolved and separated itself from other “healthy living/eating blogs” (frankly yours has always been different). I just love your philosophy of living and eating for sake of love and happiness. THAT is healthy. (Love “Why I quit the gym’). Thank you for helping to spread that underrepresented message of TRUE health.

December 8, 2011 at 9:22 pmI love your blog because:
1. you are a writer. not all bloggers, but you are and this quirky word lovin’ English major girl loves that.
2. your recipes speak my language: comfort food mixed with healthy stuff. out of all the blogs I read, yours is the only that I actually use the recipes from. truth. and p.s. the boyfriend was definitely charmed by your chicken n’ biscuits the other night. #winning
3. a new reason is that I am charmed by the series that you are doing by baking your great grandma’s recipes.
4. I like the distance you place between your personal life and your blog. it’s enough detail to know enough about you, but it’s not TMI like some blogs. each has it’s place, but I prefer this style.
That’s all! Just thought I’d share some positive thoughts with you on your blog birthday.

December 9, 2011 at 2:24 amHappy 4th Birthday ELR/Jenna! I just love reading your blog for multiple reasons, but mostly because you’re a culinary school grad (I dream of going to culinary school – I’m a clinical lab scientist now), you were an English major and it shows and your posts always have just an extra fun ‘tone’ to them! Keep bringing us awesome posts for at least the next 4 years. π

December 15, 2011 at 5:31 pmHappy Birthday ELR. I have been enjoying your posts since fall of 2009 and by one of the coincidences destined to be I was enjoying your stories about your visit to California for the wine job contest when a bike trip to Healdsburg showed up in another email and I scheduled and left on the trip within two weeks. I would love to read about your current fitness story (just reread the “I Quite the Gym” post.) Are you still enjoying yoga as I don’t remember you writing about working at the studio recently?
