March Madness

by jenna on March 10, 2010

Happy Humpday!

I’ve got a busy day planned, starting with a bike ride at 10. It’s gorgeous out and I’m finally getting in that long ride!

I had my first “real” bowl of oatmeal in many moons.

IMG_4849

I’m calling this “real” oatmeal because I finally restocked my old fashioned oats. I had been using quick oats for the past month or so and it’s just not the same! I need that chew. This bowl contained 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup soymilk, 1/2 cup water, 1 banana, cinnamon, sea salt, pb and bonne maman. After seeing Court’s bowl yesterday with that beautiful jam I knew I needed it! :)

Coffeeeeeeeeee!

IMG_4851
I took a coffee break for awhile but now I am back, full force. March is all about caffeine and wine. Wait, did I say that out loud? This is a healthy living blog…oops. ;) Still, whatever gets the writing done. Deadline is in 3 weeks!
Need to go search for headphones for my ipod today. What do y’all recommend? Its time to hear out of both ears, methinks. I’ve been using these broken ones for the past YEAR!

I couldn’t go a month without real oatmeal – two or three days and I’m craving it like mad!!
I wish I could help with headphones but I’m clueless with that stuff…I actually need some more myself!

I think coffee and wine are plenty healthy and totally appropes!

I like headphones with the loop around the ear b/c buds always fall out of my awkward ears.

skullcandy headphones!! they come with three different size ear thingies… not too $$$, sound great and long lasting…

ha ha. I have a pair of broken ones in my desk drawer at work where only 1 ear works…sometimes desperate times call though! I’ve bought some ear buds at Target for about $10…I think they even have the Ipod brand there? And lots of fun colors!

I saw awesome headphone things on “The Early Show” on CBS this morning! You attach it to your helmet instead of covering your ears! Much safer! Check it out!

Can’t wait to see you post “DONE”! or at least 50,000! Hope to see it tonight or at least in the morning! Maybe your good oats will do the trick!

Those are the best ever! I have my tragus pierced so the dumb iPod ear buds never stayed in my ears, but these come with different sized cushions to make it smaller or larger. I love them, the cancel out all sounds and don’t go anywhere during a run.

I still use my Apple buds that came with my iPod. Those have ended up holding up the best and being the most comfortable.

I’ve heard (because I have the same headphone problem) that the issue may actually be with your iPod. I tried buying new headphones and the sound still only came out of one ear. Apparently there is a way to fix something on your iPod, but I just wanted to warn you in case this means you’ll need to be doing a little more troubleshooting than you expected — and before you buy fancy new headphones!

I have to laugh that you’ve been using broken earphones for that long . . . I can be really behind on certain errands too!

I would suggest getting Skull Candy earphones! They fit in your ear (dont fall out like most do) and they come in super cool designs!! Here’s the site http://www.skullcandy.com/!!

i’ve been using the same apple headphones that came with my ipod, and they get the job done, but sometimes they fall out of my ears! i think the in-ear buds and around-the-ear headphones would work best. good luck!

I got a new pair of headphones for Christmas actually, my husband did tons of research and found Seinhesser PMX70′s. I wasn’t so sure because I am so used to iPod headphones but they stay in SO well, I never worry about them falling out and the sound is great. I really like them.

I have some cheapy Phillips brand ones from Target that have held up for a long time and stay in place when I run. They’re the over the ear kind.

I commend you for being able to run with broken headphones, that’s the sort of thing that frustrates me to no end while working out. I’ve found that any kind that wraps around the ear is pretty reliable for exercise.

Enjoy your ride and the weather!

Reply

I third the recommendation for Skull Candy earphones. They are the best I’ve ever had. They create a really good seal so that they don’t move around or fall out during exercise, and that also cuts out the external noise when I’m doing things like commuting. AWESOME. Highly recommended.

Sony’s headphones are AMAZING. A bit more pricey (around $50) but I think definitely worth it, and they’ll never let you down if you take care of them! Plus they’re the “inner ear” headphones, so they won’t fall out during exercise!

I found they are really good for the money. They stay put and I don’t ever feel like they’re going to fall out. I tend to manhandle my earphones, since I’m carrying them to and from the gym and sweating all over them, so I didn’t want to spend tons of money on them.
