hey!
Trying to be productive!!!! This morning I pulled myself together and had a great two mile run followed by lunges up and down my street, 30 push-ups and 60 crunches. We had to cancel our group workout at the studio because Anna had too many errands to run so I had a makeshift one outside on my own. It was sunny but COLD. Thank goodness for wunder unders (I just like saying the word “wunder under”).
After my workout I grabbed a cappuccino and ate the rest of my breakfast grapefruit. Whole milk makes all the difference in cappuccinos….I shall never go back to anything but!
Lunch was TJ’s tomato soup with an open faced hummus and avocado sandwich + a big ol’ carrot!
I ate the soup too fast and totally scalded my esophagus. Now it feels like I have a bad sore throat. 🙁
After lunch was when the daily procrastination set in. I took about four walks downtown, mopped my floors and made applesauce oat bran muffins out of Veganomicon 😉
Finally, around 4:45 I decided what I really needed was a glass of vino to get the words flowing. Or at least that’s what
Caitlin said I needed. I trust her opinion on these matters.
Done and DONE. 1,000 words just like that. Well, not really just like “that” but you know….
Had a few Morningstar farms buffalo wings (love these) plus a huge spinach salad with hummus, salsa and goat cheddar for dinner—
Plus another crack bar for dessert…..on top of my new book that I got on one of my many walks this afternoon. The girl standing next to me was talking about how her book club was reading it so I figured it was worth a try…plus, it was on clearance for only $8.99!
Guess who’s running a
5K next weekend???!
Gosh, I am SO EXCITED!!!!!!! The race is in Napa at a winery next Saturday morning and my friend Michaela is also running it. I haven’t run in a race in almost a YEAR and I can’t wait. I’m a little worried because Michaela said “its a gorgeous run but very, very, very hilly”…..not quite sure what that means. Hills are not my friends. But I figure I can make them work for 3.1 miles. I need to get new headphones because mine are broken and for the past few months I’ve been listening to music out of one ear only. Hmmm
Okay. I need 1,000 more words to make it to 50,000. It.is.ON.

March 9, 2010 at 8:10 pmKudos on the word progress, the race, and the delicious eats! I’m especially impressed that you’re able to do 30 push ups. I can do 10, then it’s crash and burn.
Nicole @ Geek Turned Athlete
March 9, 2010 at 8:17 pmI totally did the same thing the other day when I was eating an egg and cheese bagel. I burned the top of my mouth and it hurt for a good two days! Good luck running the 5K! Hills are good for you! 😉

March 9, 2010 at 8:55 pmIsn’t it funny how we do things like mopping the floors rather than work? Been there, done that. Have fun with the gorgeous run!
Heather (Heather's Dish)
March 9, 2010 at 9:48 pmi bet a glass of vino helps a lot of things along…like the saying says, helping white guys dance since 1980 or something? 🙂 good luck in the 5k!
Courtney (The Hungry Yogini)
March 9, 2010 at 10:34 pmAhhh yes. Gotta love the power of wine to get the word’s flowing.
I’ve learned that my French improves dramatically with each glass 😉

March 9, 2010 at 10:53 pmJust curious…Do you use salad dressings? Your salads always look super yummy but it doesn’t look like you use a dressing….

March 9, 2010 at 11:38 pmProcrastination is the name of the game these days! Sadly, that can’t be much longer with midterm season here. And a Floridian running hills? Ouch! Good luck. For both things, as you said: “it is ON!”

Sarah (Enman and the Freshman Year of Life)
March 10, 2010 at 2:55 amI’ve gone a year once not being able to hear from one of the headphones. They were a $40 pair, so I was stubborn and didn’t want to buy new ones since it hadn’t been a year that I had been using them. I have decided to just buy the cheap $7 ones once a year. What kind do you buy/have?

March 10, 2010 at 4:52 amGood Morning Jenna!
I wish my teacher would let me drink a glass of wine in class! haha! We are all getting our master’s so they always make comments about how we are “adults” and it isn’t the same as undergrad 🙂
Great advise Caitlin, we all know the words DO flow after a glass of wine!
I have a recommendation on your headphones. I use SkullCandy and i love them. They cancel out all background noise, come in different sizes, and have quality similar to Bose (my ex was a tech/web/video editor and did all the research)
Hope you have a great day!!

March 10, 2010 at 4:53 amLove the newest baking projects! Oatbran applesauce muffins sound delicious!

March 10, 2010 at 7:02 amCongrats on finishing 1000 words. I know wine used to always get words flowing for me too…but in a different way. Think college party days 😉
That does sound like it will be a pretty and fun run for the race this weekend. And like you said, I bet you will have no problem cranking out those hills for a 5K.

March 10, 2010 at 7:09 amI’ve tried the Morningstar Chick’n nuggets; those ARE good! I need to go pick up some more for the “Meatless in March” I’m doing! Good luck on your race! I’ve been wanting to sign up for one too…as motivation :>

I also fully support the fact that wine makes writing easier. I think we question every word too much normally, but a little wine and we just let the words flow! 😉 Glad you’re so close to 50,000!

I have been eyeing those crack bars ever since Polly posted them but am a little hesitant to make them seeing as I have a hard time self control around treats like that! Haha 🙂
