Well guys, I can’t seem to keep this a secret for too much longer……I’ve been bursting at the seams here!!
I’m moving to California!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve accepted a position as Tasting Room and Tour Associate and Event Coordinator for Michel Schlumberger Wine Estate in Healdsburg and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Michel Schlumberger is a family run and all organic winery in the most gorgeous place on Earth that I know. I’m so excited to join their team and start this new adventure and I look forward to taking y’all along with me for the crazy ride!
And here’s the kicker: I move Friday…as in the day after tomorrow. Yep, going out to BlogHer Food 09 and not coming back. It’s sort of a huge leap of faith but I’m totally ready for it.
As you can imagine, things are a bit crazy around here as I pack my life into two suitcases:
And I’m shipping my books and kitchen appliances out there in a few weeks once I get settled.
Craziness. That’s all I have to say. And, there might be even MORE surprises especially for you guys coming soon

I lived in SF during college and I must say Nor Cal is a fricken awesome place to live! (Plus I couldn’t be happier knowing that I am not so far from the famous Jenna of ELR and we could maybe meet up some time- I’mcurrently in socal but frequent nor cal often). And an organic winery to boot? Good job my friend!

Wow, congrats!! It’s definitely going to be an adventure! I love Northern California–I lived up in Humboldt County for a while. You should really check it out if you get the chance and want to see Redwood country–amazing views, great hikes, good (cold) surfing, fun ‘hippie’ culture. It’s only a four hour drive up the 101 from Santa Rosa. Have fun!

You Go Jenna! I grew up in California, have lived in NYC for the past four years, and can’t wait to move back next summer! It’s a wonderful place (budget crisis’ aside), particularly for a person as active as yourself. Never fear, their are health food stores, green markets, Trader Joes, and Whole Foods galore there. Not to mention the beaches, bike trails, great running routes, etc.

I have been reading this blog faithfully for the last two months and have been so inspired by your story. I am a college freshman and believe that your story has allowed me to make a smooth transition. You have allowed me to think about the choices I make from the limited food in the dining halls. I am exercising more than ever before and eating healthier because you have helped me realize I must take responsibility for my health.
I go to college near home and love my family so much. I treat them as my security blanket and truly enjoying being near them. Your decision to move to California shows me that sometimes a leap of faith means leaving everything behind and just embracing a new choice. That new choice may be the best you ever made. Enjoy your time in California while I suffer through a Wisconsin winter!

How EXCITING!!! I loved reading all your CA adventures earlier this summer so this will be so much fun to tag along on. What a beautiful area! I joined the Navy when I was 19…just to get out of town, have an adventure and get money for college. Totally alone. Didn’t know a soul when flown down to Orlando for boot camp…it was scary! 6 months later I met my future husband in Great Lakes, IL! It was such an exciting and scary time. Now almost 20 years later, married for 12 of them, and 3 kids later….well you get the picture!
Unlike you, we didn’t have the internet, social media and blogs, and not even cell phones!! What a great era you live in…to have all this while young. ENJOY yourself. We can’t wait to read all about it. And see all your stunning photos!

I have been reading your blog religiously for the last two months. Your story has inspired me. I am a college freshman and am healthier now than I have ever been. I struggle with eating healthy, but your blog inspires me to make positive choices. I am exercising more than ever and paying attention to what I eat.
I go to college near home and love my family above everything. Your bold decision to move across the country has inspired me that I have the capacity to leave everything I know for a great adventure.
