Breakfast/ Lunch

Sh-mazing

Hi guys!

I hope everyone is doing well. We didn’t have the best day baking bread….for some reason, NOTHING turned out! It was crazy!!! Bread is so fickle…it just takes one tiny thing for the whole thing to go downhill and today was just not our day. We still don’t know what happened but we did manage to salvage a few loaves. Hopefully tomorrow will be much better!

This morning I had one of these babies:

And then on my break I had more overnight oats. This time using my new chocolate almond butter (thanks, VeggieGirl!!):

MMmmmmm is all I have to say!! This was SO good. Its definitely not for the faint of heart though because its not sweet like you would expect. Perfect for someone that really loves super dark chocolate (me!!). It made my oatmeal oh so yummy!

I finally gave in and bought a shicaccia for lunch today. Yes, a shicaccia. Like a focaccia but only shaped like a pizza and topped with wonderful things! We use 5 oz of dough (raw weight) to make one and then we top them with, in this case, a light brushing of extra virgin olive oil, feta cheese, sliced tomatoes, green onions and a five cheese blend.

Its like a mini pizza but BETTER! I had been inhaling them for weeks down as I worked to take them out of the oven every morning at 5 am and just knew I had to try one today. It definitely did not let me down. This was hands down, AMAZING!!! So soft and cheesy and fresh tasting. I cut it into little pieces—

I devoured it all except for one slice. I didn’t want to get too full this late in the day and then not be able to eat my early dinner! My mom is making something wonderful in the slow cooker 🙂 I could have eaten about 10 of these though…..it was that delicious.

I’m headed over to Starbucks now to meet Sarah and have our first bible study. I think we might go across the street to the christian bookstore and look at the Beth Moore materials there so we can pick what we want to do. I hope everyone is having a fantastic day and I’ll see you tonight!

Ahhh! That looks so good! I think you, alone, might possibly be able to convince the Powers That Be that there should be a Greenwise in every single location that every single on of your blog readers lives in, because you know we are all so jealous of what you’ve been eating from there lately! I know I would go there!

Also, have fun at bible study!

    Wow, looks amazing!

You should check out Anne Lamott for your Bible study. Most of her books have chapters that are subject-based, which I love – It allows me to read a chapter and reflect on it, then move on to something else. Just a suggestion! 🙂

You’re so cute… Sorry if this is an IG-NANT, question, but I have no idea what a bible study actually entails… I mean, obvi, you STUDY THE BIBLE, but what else do you do? I apologize if this seems incredibly stupid, as well, but I have really been wonderin every time you talk about it!

      Julz,

No worries! Usually a bible study is when you get together with someone (or by yourself which I do daily) and study parts of the bible. You talk about what you read, how to apply it in your daily life and where you are right now with God. We usually do prayer requests also and goals for the week!

That’s awesome that you are doing a bible study. I have never done a beth moore study, but my mom has and she loved it. And I do have the book Believing God! John Ortberg is another favorite of mine – his are less “bible study” and more Christian living books (like Believing God) with study questions after each chapter.

Hey Jenna — sh-mazing is right! Wow that looks good.
One book you might want to think about for your study is “Smart Girls Think Twice: Making Wise Choices when it Counts” by Jan Silvious. I can honestly say, without an ounce of exaggeration, that it changed my life. You wouldn’t be disappointed!
