Sounds like a damn good trip. Can’t wait to hear the hospital story.
Did you get the Mexican Vanilla from Amy’s?! That is the BEST flavor! I live near the location on S Congress and sometimes I feel the need to go and eat it at 11pm. No judgement.
Hairspray?! What’s that about?…;)
Sounds like fun!
You’re making Texas sounds real good right now. Just add cowboys to the mix and it will be complete.
sounds like you’re having a great weekend!
Amy’s mexican vanilla is my JAM. envy face.
Tacos for breakfast equals Austin for me. Mmm….breakfast tacos. I might have to make myself some now!
I wish I had a taco truck nearby!
I second the breakfast tacos… yummm. Sounds like a really fun trip!
I LOVE torchys! My husband’s cousin got married in April and they had Torchys cater the rehearsal dinner AND breakfast the morning after – it was awesome
Where did they have the rehearsal dinner? We were thinking of having Torchy’s cater but wondering where to actually have it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I have no idea what Amy’s ice cream is. I’m sad. Sounds like fun, though!
Amy’s Ice Cream looks so fun! haha-Darth Chocolate!
Yep-sounds like Texas! The Piney Woods are gorgeous.
It was so great meeting you! And I am so proud of you for getting the Green Chile Pork at Torchy’s! Can’t wait for you to taste the ribs at Salt Lick….
Love me some Torchy’s!!! You have to visit the “Pie Queen’s” trailer on S. Congress before you leave. She makes the best buttermilk pie in the entire south (but don’t tell my Granny I said that)!!!
Now that’s what I call a vacation….food, excitement, food, drink, food, mud, more food. As a former hairdresser, what’s this about hairspray?
Tacos for breakfast sounds glorious.
Sounds so fun! And sounds just like Texas:)
Well, they say “Everything is Bigger in Texas”. Enjoy your visit.
Aqua teen hunger force or mario brothers- it’s sophie’s choice really! Sounds like a great vacation- and you haven’t even gotten to the football yet.
If Texas is indeed the land of tacos for breakfast, I need to move there STAT. So glad you’re having a blast!
Loooove Amy’s! Let us know how you enjoy “BTHOing” and all the silly Aggie traditions
haha sounds like you’ve been busy!! But it also sounds like TONS of fun!!
Oh my word. I could seriously eat baked beans for three meals straight too. I’m so jealous of everything on your list.
Yumm!! I love how a lot of your list involves food
I absolutely love baked beans so having them practically every meal sounds like a pretty good deal to me! Tacos for breakfast?? Haha! I’m not sure if I would like that too much.
hahaha I blamed my hairspray stint with the fact that I was in my awkward years…maybe it was just that I was living in Texas
that ice cream looks to die for!
I could write an entire ODE to sweet tea..
My dad looooooovess Torchy’s. He has a Torchy’s shirt that says “Show me your taco.” Ofcourse I just say “really, Dad?!” and move on with life.
There’s another taco/mexican place called Maria’s that they were really impressed by, too. Leaving you the link – http://www.tacoxpress.com/.
What a great trip! I’m seriously jealous of your muddin’ adventure!!! I need to go to Texas
I think you’re becoming a true texan!
Did you make it “trashy” at Torchy’s?
This sounds like a blast!!
Loooove Amy’s ice cream
Mexican Vanilla + hot fudge + cinnamon :]
Love Amy’s!
Way to live it up! I actually am interested in Texas right now.
Sounds like you are having a great time!
You need to get a dublin dr pepper! Made with pure cane sugar, not HFCS. Soooo much better than a regular DP!!!
You would be surprised at how similar Oklahoma is to Texas.
I have done a large percentage of the things on your list.
Though I don’t much care for Willie. I’m a pop (MJ) and rock (Creed) kind of girl.
You are having an amazing time!!! Enjoy the time with your boy and friends
!
“Navigated my way through back country roads in a white Dodge rental, listening to Willie and praying to Jesus.”—LOL!!!
Sounds like some of my adventures, only mine are white knuckled, praying to jesus, and screaming 4 letter words! haha!
i miss amy’s…
have some sweet tea for me!
I wanna be you
Love you Jenna!
sounds like my life! minus all the four wheeling
glad to hear youre having fun!
I am 100% jealous of all the baked beans you have been eating.
Love them!
Sounds like a blast! I love taco trucks! Some people find them questionable, but I have been known to frequent them here in California.
I second the Dublin DP vote. It is great but unless you are near Dublin (which is near Weatherford), it can be hard to find!
amy’s ice cream: mexican vanilla with almonds. Mmmm.
Well it sounds like you’re getting a lot done! I hear that sweet tea is quite the Texas thing.
Now you just need to go to Kerby Lane for pancakes!!
This trip sounds amazing! Especially baked beans for three meals in a row.
Love baked beans.
Sounds like you are having a blast!
Wow, looks like you are having a ball, Jenna! I love the pic of Amy’s ice cream – go Darth Chocolate!
I’m so glad you’re loving Texas so far…it’s an awesome state that makes you feel at home at once. Can’t wait for a full recap!
so fun! so wish i could’ve made it to the blog event the other night. if you love torchy’s tacos, you must try izzo’s! another trailer, better tacos.
mmmmmmmmmm, Amy’s
Amy’s is the BOMB! They had a boubon ice cream last week that nearly got me tipsy! Awesome!
Mmm, Amy’s Mexican Vanilla is my favorite! I can’t wait to hear which Torchy’s was your favorite. I love their fried avocado tacos.
lol, sounds like a lot of fun! That ice cream shop seems super rad, too
What a fantastic time!! Sounds like you are in your element:)
You’re in Austin!!! WooooooHoooooo! Glad you are enjoying this fine city.
Just moved to Austin… I will definitely have to check out these places! Thanks!
the mochachino and the “too much coffee man” sounds too cute!!! i really love it when i visit a cafe or food joint thats really down to earth and creative. the menu has a lot of character which probably draws both the locals and tourists in. and since ur only a texan once, i think the late night ice cream treats are well worth it !!
xoxo <3
Oooh food truck!! I want to eat at one asap
Love Torchy’s tacos, they just opened here in Dallas too!
How fun! Wasn’t that Amy’s ice cream on the Food Network? I think Giada went there on one of her weekend getaways in Texas!
Enjoy the rest of your time in Texas!
Baked beans and sweet tea – sounds like heaven
Sweet tea!
Sounds like a good time to me! Glad you are enjoying your trip in the South!
Howdy! Looks like you’re having a great time in Texas! I used to hate baked beans when I was little but now I love them, so I wouldn’t mind having them for 3 meals straight.
It sounds like a great time. Midnight ice cream sounds incredibly good after looking at the flavors in the picture.
I could totally eat brisket for breakfast.
YUM! Baked beans.
This post makes me miss home! I’m a Texas girl currently living in Pittsburgh, by way of Phoenix…yeah I know. Thanks for giving me a little taste of home
Torchy’s is the best!
And YUM Amy’s!!
Thanks Jenna for stopping by, we are always happy to meet a new friend and share our ice cream. Come back soon and bring a friend.
Amy and Steve
Dont forget to go to Hey Cupcake!!
