A Good End

Good morning!

Sorry for the late post from yesterday but we ended up going to a late dinner with some friends and then watching The Departed (Ryan’s favorite movie!) afterwards. It ended up being a fun day after all that studying and we didn’t get to bed until late. I’ll do some backtracking though!

Yesterday after I ate lunch I went to the gym for some much needed stress release cardio. I did 25 minute on the treadmill followed by a bunch of ab work, which I am paying for right now with very very sore abs! After I worked out and got all my stuff together, I took a smoothie for my car ride home to re-fuel. In my smoothie I had 6 frozen strawberries, 1/2 of a frozen banana, 1 cup soymilk, 1 tbsp ground flax and a couple raspberries. Delicious! Dexter liked to sit on the table while I did my project…

I also had a handful of dry cereal later on since dinner was not until 9:00. This is Barbara’s Shredded Oats.

While I was working more on my project, Ryan snuck out to the store to get mint for mojitos! He made MASSIVE mojitos and I didn’t even put a dent in this. I probably only drank 1/4 of it, if that. It was way too big and I didn’t really feel like drinking all that sugar anyways.

And then, we met our friends at one of my favorite restaurants ever: Bonefish! I LOVE Bonefish and since I work at Roy’s I get a nice 50% off everytime I go. It’s definitely one of our favorite places to go and everything is always really yummy. To start, I had a glass of “Blue Moon” Pinot Noir from Oregon. I had another glass with my meal, which came later so in total, I had two glasses of wine last night. It was a little late, so we immediately ordered an appetizer for the table. We picked my favorite, the spicy tuna sashimi. Kind of like a spicy tuna roll minus the rice. I had two pieces and a piece of bread.

For my dinner, I ordered the Salmon with pan asian sauce. Sooo delicious but so large! I ate half of the piece of salmon on my plate but most of the mashed potatoes, my special indulgence. Usually I’m not a white potato fan at all. I never order then and I never really make them. But…Bonefish Grill mashed potatoes are like heaven on earth and I order them every time I go! They are so good and mashed with garlic!  I also ordered a salad to start.

Ryan ordered two appetizers for his dinner: the Bang Bang Shrimp and the Saucy Shrimp in a mixture of feta, sundried tomatoes and kalamata olives. I had about three of his bang bang shrimp and one of his saucy shrimp with my meal. Bang Bang are my favorite!

No desserts for us—-we were stuffed to the gills! It was a very nice treat though and tonight we are going to my parents house for dinner so that should be fun too.

This morning we slept in until 9:30! That’s a new record for me! We were going to go out to breakfast, but to save money and since we had such a large, rich meal last night, we decided to stay in. I had a bowl of Shredded Oats with vanilla soymilk and a banana.

We are about to hit the upstairs gym for a workout! The weather is not so good here so I might spend a lot of the day working more on my project. I think we are going to Pita Pit for lunch though so I am excited about that! Enjoy the day!

Wow, that restaurant sounds awesome. The tuna looks amazing and your salmon sounds so good too! I miss having good seafood… I usually always order it if I go out..but too intimidated, busy, lazy to make it at home!! Haha Bang Bang Shrimp is such a funny name too!

Have a great Sunday Jenna! Dexter is too cute… my roomies black kitten is constantly jumping on my desk too. He honestly CANNOT be trained.

    Katie S,

I do read fitness magazines on best ab exercises…I also do a lot of yoga ab work (boat pose works wonders) and sometimes just do plain old crunches or make up my own stuff. Yesterday I laid on a bench with my legs up in the air at 90 degrees and my hands holding a 10 pound weight behind my head, and I then crunched up, holding the weight as I crunched. I think the weight is why I’m so sore today! I also really like to do bicycle crunches and reverse crunches, lifting my leg and butt into the air and holding on to something behind me

    OMG Lola….TOO FUNNY!

Though I also wondered what it was. It looks like sugar cane but I guess that might be weird in a salad.

    Amber,

I got that smoothie bottle on clearance from target about a year ago. I’m sure they have similar ones there now though! I love it!

This is a random question, but was the salmon wild or farm-raised? Whenever I grocery shop, I always wonder if its better to get the cheaper farm-raised salmon or the much more expensive wild salmon? What do you guys do?
