Behind The Butter

Chips Can Be Good

Hi friends,

I’m having a pretty bummed day today for reasons I don’t want to say publicly on the blog yet so please excuse my less-than-enthusiastic attitude.

That being said, I had sort of a random lunch: a hummus and laughing cow cheese sandwich on whole wheat with these avocado oil potato chips at my parent’s house

Hey, even a food blogger eats chips every once in a while! 😉
The highlight of my day was getting a card in the mail from sweet Polly.

Thank you, Polly!!!!! This brought a smile to my face 🙂
Sorry for the blah post! I’m trying to stay positive over here and think I’m going to a yoga class with Courtney this evening.
Happy thoughts!

Totally unrelated to your post, but I just finished a novel that I loved and had to recommend it (or see what you had thought if you’ve read it already)–House at Riverton by Kate Morton. I can’t stop thinking about the ending and thought it might be something to add to your list!

Oh, bad days stink. You are not alone though, everyone has them. Going to Yoga is a great idea. I know you’ll feel energized after it! I had a bumm week a couple of weeks ago leading up to my 40th Bday. I really was not happy about the big 4.0. But the day came & went and the weekend celebration was awesome and just what I needed. And today I am still me! 40 has not changed a thing. Every night after work I made sure to get my run in and without fail it picked me up. So have a great yoga class and hope you can find your smile because it’s so beautiful! All the best to you!

You are always so full of sunshine I am sorry you are having a cloudy day. I know you do Bible study and for me when I need comfort and strength I go to psalms or proverbs. You can find wisdom and joy in both. As for chips if you have not been introduced to Gillian Mckeith and her healthy recipe for crisps as they call chips in England seek her out now on the internet and enjoy. Tonya

Hi, I’m usually a lurker and obviously, I don’t know what’s going on but I figured this another verse can’t hurt. 🙂

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Aw, sorry to hear you’re having a bummer day. Those days can be so tough but what helps me is the realization that the times I’ve learned and grown the most have been those times that were just so danged hard (and often miserable!). Have faith and patience. You have quite a community rooting for you always!

Hey jenna, sorry to hear you are feeling down today. It is good to try to stay positive and remember all the good things in your life. I am sure there are plenty of things you can look to for happiness. When I am down, I try to just go outside, maybe go for a run, just be with myself and clear my head. Things slow down and become simpler. It can help put things into perspective. Sometimes you just have to step outside your own skin, and the worries of the day, and breathe. I am sure going to yoga tonight will help you relax a ton and take your mind off things.

    All the best!

    Hi Jenna,

Sorry to hear that your day is blah. Like Matt says, a workout will pep you up, if only for an hour or two. What I find important is to distract myself from the rain cloud over my head. What better way than yoga?

I hope you find some peace and happiness before climbing in bed.
