Breakfast

Christmas Number Two

Hi bloggies!

Well, it was definitely hard to get up and get going this morning after such a fun vaca! I ended up crashing at Ryan’s and made us both oatmeal for breakfast this morning—

We each had a serving that included 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup silk, 1/2 cup water, handful of dried berries, 1 tbsp ground flax and a spoonful of peanut butter!

I packed up and made my way home only to find the best Christmas surprise EVER waiting for me!!!!!!!!

WOAHHHH!!! Merry Christmas, Jenna!!!!!!! The kind folks over at VitaMix asked me if I would like to have and review their new blender, the VitaMix 5200. Um, would I LIKE TO??? Do I even have to respond to such a question?! I am sooo excited—-this baby not only makes smoothies but also makes nut butters, soups, juice, ICE CREAM, FLOUR and has all the other food processor capabilities as well. I can’t even wait to test her out! When I told Ryan about it he laughed and said yet again, “well now since you have a KitchenAid AND a super duper food processor/blender apparatus we really don’t even need to get married!” Anyone else see a trend here? Haha 😉

Anyways, I WILL be testing this guy out in the very near future so look forward to a review!

Also, today I plan to finally make my first batch of sourdough bread out of Oscar using my new KitchenAid! He’s bubbly and ready…muhahaha

And I am veryyyy ready for Bikram at noon. I just snacked on a yogurt since lunch won’t be til’ 2 today:

    Hey jenna!!!

I was actually thinking about taking my first Bikram class today (im chugging water), but i was wondering whether it is a very difficult class??
You see, im trying to get more active and right now im not as fit as i’d like to be . . . do you have to pretty advanced in your fitness level to complete a Bikram class?

    thnx

      Jenny,

You really don’t have to be advanced to take the class. I mean, everyone has to start somewhere…right? When I first took a Bikram class it was about 6 years ago and I thought it was just a regular flow yoga class and I totally freaked when I realized just how HOT it was (its about 100 degrees in the room). Once I got over the initial shock, I really enjoyed it because it just feels soooo good to sweat everything out. The postures in the class are not super advanced or anything…the only thing that might be hard at first is getting used to the heat. It can be overwhelming. My advice to you is to take it at your own pace and if you start to feel light headed, lay down in child’s pose. And drink water. After going to a few classes your body will get used to it!

new blended and a new mixer…. YAY!!! Have fun in the kitchen!

Your NYE plans sound really nice, I am not sure what city I will be in yet. Though I know if I stay put I will be going to my friends aunt and uncles house for a gourmet dinner/party all night, but if I went back I would be going to the bar district.

    Have fun!
