Lunch

Sigh It Out Loud

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

(long sigh out the mouth)

Bikram was AMAZING this morning. I mean, Bikram is always amazing but I just love that even though I’ve been practicing now for something like six years, each practice brings something totally new to me. Today I really pushed myself. I wanted to feel the burn and the sweat as the past 4 days of indulgence drip off me. And, wow, did I ever sweat. The high point of my practice was getting myself down in a toe stand with a full namaste (a tough balance for those of you that don’t practice). It takes a supreme amount of focus and concentration to get in this posture and its taken me years to work on….and today I did it for the entire 30 seconds! It was awesome.

Afterwards, I stopped on my way home at the health food store to pick up my favorite lunch—hummus, kale salad and quinoa tabbouli on a sprouted wheat wrap:

Along with an iced organic green tea with agave—

I just got out of the shower and I’m about to get ready and head over to the grocery store to pick up a few things. I really want to make something tonight with my new VitaMix!

Enjoy the day!

    Hi Jenna –

    Good to have you back:)
I’d really like to try some of the online Yoga classes you talk about but I remember you saying they weren’t recommended for beginners. I’ve done a couple of classes and do weight training and core work with a trainer. Do you think I’d be ok trying some? Which would you recommend? Or am I better off waiting to get into a class for the instructional content?

      Lisa,

I’m sure you would have no problem physically doing any of the classes. The reason I said they aren’t recommended for beginners is because its best if you are brand new to the practice to have a certified yoga instructor show you the correct way to do the postures. Like anything, its very possible to kink your back or mess up your knees if you are using the wrong alignment. Just as a personal trainer would show you the proper way to do a squat, a yoga teacher will show you the proper way to do do warrior one, for example. Once you know you are aligned correctly, the downloads are great!

    Hi Jenna!
I’m interested in trying bikram. Just curious, what do you wear? I take regular yoga classes but I’m thinking the same clothes might not work due to the sweat factor?? Tahnks!
