Sometimes you just feel like a meatball.

Especially when your boyfriend is out of town and especially when you have enough food in your freezer to feed a small country.

Bring on the sweatpants!

    You must be reading my mind. My weekend menu plan has me tackling my great Aunt’s spaghetti and meatballs recipe. It will likely fill my freezer with enough food for twenty people. Nom.

    If you have room in your belly, we have tons of leftovers in our fridge. My brother’s birthday party is tonight and my Grandma’s 80th birthday is tomorrow, so we won’t have time to eat them.

    I just got back from my first dim sum experience and am now in my elastic waist sweatpants 😉

    My freezer looks just like yours ! Never know when you’ll need frozen spinach, chicken tenders, 5 types of raw nuts, indiv containers of cooked quinoa and brown rice, TJ’s veggie potstickers (and the list goes on), right?!

    Jenna, how do you select meats? I don’t have a Whole Foods or access to locally-raised goods. All I have is the local grocery chain. So, how do you decide what meats to select when there seems to be conflicting information on the best kinds, cuts, and sources? I really need to start eating more meat (at least twice a week).

      I usually try to buy organic meat and look for grass fed, free-range beef! I buy most everything from Trader Joe’s and rarely go to Whole Foods..just because it’s too expensive.

        They only sell grain-fed meat around my small town and not organic. Is this good or not? I really don’t have much choice. I try to choose the cuts that are marked as free from antibiotics. But they still say grain-fed.

          All of the chicken, turkey, and meat I buy are “Grain-Fed”. I was told that was perfectly acceptable given those are my options, so I continue to buy them.
          There are some “stewing beef” selections that are simply labelled “organic” that I might try in addition. They have no nutritional label on them, so I’m not sure. But I might just try different things anyway. I have to go with what is available to me, because I eat an abundance of it.

    I never would have thought to be put green superfood in the freezer! While I don’t eat meat, I am definitely thinking “bring on the sweatpants” tonight. 🙂

    For a second I thought, “How did a picture of my freezer get here?!?!” I only cook for one so every time I make a meal for 6, cookie or muffin, I freeze it. This happens often so my tupper ware and plastic baggies are out of control. I try to reduce it by eating leftovers for lunch, but it just keeps piling up. I need a “spring cleaning” commitment.

    i’ve already planned meatballs and tomato sauce (from my mom’s home canned tomatoes!) over spaghetti squash as a dinner next week. i’m overly excited about it for sure 🙂
