Loved hearing all your favorite restaurant spots around here!!! I need to check some of them out for sure…! I’ll be announcing the winner of the giveaway in the morning so stay tuned!
I had a great day today. Yoga was kick butt this morning and then I stuck around and worked for a few hours and ate my lunch behind the desk:

A pita with hummus, tempeh and cherry tomatoes and……

The furry kiwi kick continues! nom nom nom
I had the intention to go for an hour ride today but there seems to be something wrong with my bike. I need to take it to the shop tomorrow….its probably something incredibly simple but I’d rather be safe than sorry and strange sounds when I’m pedaling worry me!
Instead, I went to the coffee shop and wrote all afternoon while enjoying a lovely cappuccino and a larabar:

I grabbed a taco with a friend for dinner:

This was AMAZING! A roasted veggie and feta burrito from this tiny place in Windsor. It was about the size of my head though so I ate half and have the other half in my fridge for tomorrow.
And then, guess what I ate for dessert!!!

Oh yes I did. Jenna eats pop tarts….and LIKES them. Are these not the best thing ever?! They remind me of college and I always eat the ends first. I hate all other pop tart flavors but there’s just something about the brown sugar and cinnamon that totally rocks my world. Don’t be a hater.
Off to write poetry and brush Dexter! What what!

February 22, 2010 at 7:49 pmOMG Pop Tarts!!! I haven’t had those in forever! I used to have cinnamon brown sugar every day in hs for an afternoon snack (I know bad) but they are SO good, hot and cold! I had a thing for the smores for a while but they get old fast this flavor never disappoints! Which also reminds me of my other favorite H.S snack: Peanut Butter MMs slightly warmed in the microwave. They maintain the crunch but are warm and gooey choc.+pb heaven!
Jules @ EatDrinkLiveLearn
February 22, 2010 at 7:49 pmEnds first is the only way to eat a pop tart! I haven’t had one in years…maybe it’s time to re-visit my youth too. I agree–this flavor was always the best! π

February 22, 2010 at 8:05 pmI used to LOVE brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts—I remember in high school I would go over to my friend Lindsey’s after classes, and they would always have those in their house. They were the best!

February 22, 2010 at 8:09 pmThat is BY FAR my favorite pop tart flavor. I remember grade school summers when I was on swim team and I had those everyone morning for breakfast. Oh memories when I could down 2 pop tarts every morning and not feel a tinge of guilt! ha

February 22, 2010 at 8:12 pmBrown sugar cinnamon is totally the best Pop Tart flavor! I can’t control myself around them though so I haven’t had one in years.

February 22, 2010 at 8:40 pmAfter my first marathon (I was a vegan at the time, mind you) – I had the most INTENSE craving for brown cinnamon sugar poptarts. They are the food with which I dove headfirst off the vegan train. Regrets? Not a one.

February 22, 2010 at 8:44 pmYAK! I had a horrible experience with a pop tart in 7th grade.. yes about 10 or 11 years ago and have never ever had another one since.. ahh!

February 22, 2010 at 8:54 pmJenna,
The best pop tart is the brown sugar and cinnamon, yum! I sure wish the health food industry would jump on this…hmm…idea just came…Jenna, you gotta get one of these in your cookbook!

February 22, 2010 at 8:56 pmI LOVE poptarts! I actually just bought a 12 pack box of Brown Sugar Cinnamon from target because they were onsale, and had one the other night with a big glass of milk! I also really like the blueberry, cherry and raspberry one…I eat the ends first too because they dont have frosting π

February 22, 2010 at 9:09 pmPoptarts? Really? That is awesome… lol, i love brown sugar in my oatmeal! I would honestly pay someone a LOT of money to make me a burrito like that and deliver it to my camp in the library right now! haha
Casey
February 22, 2010 at 9:13 pmI have been reading your blog for a while and LOVE IT! But nothing could make me comment like brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts. This might sound gross to others, but I always ate them toasted with butter. Really a major reason why I don’t eat them anymore… I have an addiction to making things that aren’t good for me even worse! However, I do remember this being one of the best comfort foods/afternoon snacks while I was in high school! Also, you have to eat the ends first, so you can save the best part – the middle – for last!
Erin (Travel, Eat, Repeat)
February 22, 2010 at 9:30 pmI used to have a summer babysitter who made us Poptarts after my mom went to work. It was a secret summer snack. π
AmyJoGo
February 22, 2010 at 9:42 pmYum. LOVE that flavor of Pop Tarts! And I eat all the dry edges first and the sweet ooooey goooey center last. AND the best way to eat it is warm with a light smear of real butter across the top. Mmmm And now everyone can see why I don’t buy them.
Jessica
February 22, 2010 at 10:04 pmMy favorite was always the strawberry plain ones, not frosted. Toasted to perfection and eating the ending first was my favorite too–and dipping it in cold milk. Ahh childhood!

February 22, 2010 at 10:06 pmBrown Sugar Cinnamon was the only flavor of pop tart I would eat growing up, I loved them!

February 22, 2010 at 10:21 pmNo shame in eating a brown sugar pop tart! THose things (and the strawberry with icing and sprinkles) are my favs. I’m getting hungry for one hot from the toaster right now. π

February 22, 2010 at 10:38 pmhehe love it! Every so often I totally have a Pop Tart craving and eventually end of giving in to some random vending machine. I feel guilty, but yet devious and fantastic at the same time π

February 22, 2010 at 11:35 pmOMG I have not had a pop tart since the beginning of college. You are amazing. I only ate the brown sugar & cinnamon and strawberry ones. The nostalgia is killing me.
Kelli
February 22, 2010 at 11:39 pmBrown sugar and cinnamon are the bomb! (Definitely the only ones I eat) Your hair looks quite cute in your coffee picture, btw π

February 23, 2010 at 1:21 amBrown sugar cinnamon poptarts may or may not have dominated my dietary intake my freshman year of college. Gosh I love those. Craving, now.
Jennie {in Wonderland}
February 23, 2010 at 2:33 amBahaha! Ohhhh Pop Tarts. I remember I used to love Toaster Strudels! They came with little packets of fake icing and I remember loving the strawberry flavour in University. Might have to try them again when I move back to Canada in the fall.

February 23, 2010 at 2:37 amI haven’t had a pop tart in ages but kudos to you for standing up and admitting you like them. Many bloggers wouldn’t do that!
Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun)
February 23, 2010 at 3:20 amThough I never eat them anymore, I loved Pop Tarts as s kid. I love the strawberry and smore flavors. Our pantry would rarely be without them! Sometime you just have to give into those temptations that call from way back in the past!
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is
February 23, 2010 at 3:47 amI love pop tarts too! And that is the only flavor I eat. But I hate the ends!!
Rosey Rebecca
February 23, 2010 at 3:50 amI haven’t had a real poptart in a really long time! I used to love the Smores ones when I was little. My boyfriend bought these organic ones at the co-op last week. They were blueberry without icing and pretty good. But nowhere close to an actual poptart! For some reason, I think actually poptarts would be too sweet for me now. I’ve sort of lost my taste for sugar.

February 23, 2010 at 3:52 amYour dark hair looks so great! It makes me also want to dye my hair dark ( I’m a natural blonde as well). Enjoy those pop-tarts-life is about simple pleasures!!!

February 23, 2010 at 4:30 amI think I was once addicted to Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Pop Tarts. They were a breakfast staple when I was a kid…and a college student! Have a great day!

February 23, 2010 at 4:34 amI love the brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts! I used to eat them everyday for breakfast…so good! I haven’t had one in forever, but lately every time I go to the store I have a stare down with the box. I think I’m going to take the jump and get a box…it looks so darn yummy!
GurlOnA"Diet"
February 23, 2010 at 4:39 amomg that’s how i eat poptarts too! i never buy a box though…baddd idea for me but i occasionally get it from my school vending machine!

February 23, 2010 at 5:03 amWow, I seriously didn’t know you even ate poptarts based on all the pictures I have ever seen on your blog. I only normally eat these if I had too much to drink. π

February 23, 2010 at 5:10 amYummy! I also like the S’mores pop tarts! I don’t like any of the “fruit” flavors!

February 23, 2010 at 6:04 amI rarely comment anymore, but I feel like I have to because the image of your kiwi above COMPLETELY violates the privacy of the people on the list (beneath the kiwi). Those names are clearly readable, and I’m sure those people didn’t expect to have their names splashed on the internet. It would be easy enough to blur out the names using a graphics program.

February 23, 2010 at 6:10 amWho DOESN’T like pop tarts?! LOL. I love the strawberry kind with the frosting…man oh man, I could go for one right now!!

February 23, 2010 at 6:18 amI think I was the only kid growing up that HATED pop tarts!!! I still can’t eat one to this day – I had bites of many flavours and I dislike them all — BLLAAAHHHHHHH!!
Molly
February 23, 2010 at 6:20 amTry the brown sugar and cinnamon pop tart with PB spread on top. The heat of the pop tart melts the PB into icing and is SO delicious. It was definitely a go to snack for me during college.
Natalie
February 23, 2010 at 6:23 amBrown sugar poptarts are the only way to go. They also make me nostalgic for college π Now the only time we buy them is when we go camping (my husband says they’re the perfect outdoors breakfast) and we go camping almost never. Look what you’ve done … Now I’ve really got a hankering.
Mae @ OhhMay
February 23, 2010 at 6:23 amJenna, do you remember the brown cinnamon sugar poptarts you could write on with edible ink?
I used that edible marker on everything I ate- cookies, cake, pancakes, even smooth chicken. Hahahaha I was such a weird child! They were so much fun though!
Boo for limited edition. I would still be buying them today if they didn’t take away that fun marker

February 23, 2010 at 6:41 am“Jenna eats pop tarts.. and LIKES them.” Glad to hear it – I think that’s NORMAL. I got real white sugar in an iced coffee yesterday (I usually just drink my coffee black) and a health freak co-worker nearly crucified me. I think if you make decent food choices 99% of the time, you’re “allowed” a little sugar (whether it’s in coffee or poptart form)!!
PS My favorite was always the s’mores poptarts.. though brown sugar and cinnamon were a close second!!

February 23, 2010 at 7:10 amLOL Jenna! We love how you eat normal food! Love pop tarts on occasion! I do prefer the raspberry toaster strudel with the icing! I just bought a bunch of Kiwi’s yesterday! I peel them if I am eating them plain! I leave the skin/(fur) on if they are going in the vitamix! And I have to agree with Sarah? that you should have blurred the names on the list under the kiwi! Has to be some violation of a privacy issue!
My daughter lived on pop tarts for a while! Brown sugar and cinnamon was one of the ones she loved! Then they came out with the fudge sundae one! She ate them every day! b I like how some people get them from a vending machine so that they won’t eat the whole box!
Deva (Voracious Vorilee)
February 23, 2010 at 7:12 amI like the Brown Sugar Cinnamon pop tarts toasted, but my favorite kind UNtoasted are the unfrosted blueberry – yum!

February 23, 2010 at 7:26 amOMG. I LOVE Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts. Like you, they’re the only flavor I will eat and I always eat the ends off first. I haven’t had one in years and now I’m craving one! It’s so nice that you eat normal junk food sometimes too π

February 23, 2010 at 7:35 amI love pop tarts!!! Those are the best, they always remind me of my childhood! haha and that pita + tempeh + hummus looks great! I just have one question though….do you eat your tempeh plain? or do you use a marinate for it?

February 23, 2010 at 7:37 amPop tarts sound so friggin’ good! I used to LOVE the Smores kind-I don’t think I’ve had one in 10 years!

February 23, 2010 at 7:51 amRe: your bike
The sound could be your kickstand rubbing against your chain or tires. Also check the rotation of your tires against break pads or legs of the bike (especially if you take your tires on and off a lot).
Hope that helps!
