Breakfast

Friday!

Happy Friday!!!!!

Here’s my weekend dilemma. Tonight is my LAST (!!!!!!!!!!!) night class EVER and on Monday I start class at 7:30 in the morning. It’s all fine and dandy except that makes for a very short weekend (aka no Friday night and Sunday night is now a school night, not part of the weekend). Ryan’s lovely alma mater is playing in Gainesville tomorrow against Miami and he has two tickets. Going to the game would be fun (and insane) but it would also mean spending money for the both of us for drinks, food and a hotel room because it would be crazy to try to drive back at midnight tomorrow night. Also, I won’t get into details because I’m sure many of you have husbands and boyfriends that, when they get together with their friends from college, think they are back in college themselves. Let’s just say things get out of control. I’ll decide at some point today if I’m going or not. It’s a ton of driving to do for such a short weekend and that’s the most annoying part! But if I don’t go, I won’t get to see the boy and I’ll just sit here like a bump on a log when I could be reliving my college days eating burgers and drinking vodka sodas. Hm.

Anyways, there are no pictures of sugar this morning because we are still in the process of creating the masterpiece (haha). It has to be done by 9:00 tonight and then we have to deep clean and then, (sniff sniff) I am all done with culinary classes forever! Before I forget—-for the record, last night I ate two twizzlers at school. I secretly love those things.

This morning I woke up and it was all crappy and dark outside so I decided to make a big bowl of hot, creamy oats (well, multi-grain cereal). I figured I needed some flax in my life so I topped my bowl with a whopping spoonful as well as half a banana and almond butter. I made the multi-grain cereal with soymilk this morning for extra protein.

Do you guys like this photo? I took it before I stirred so you could see what I mean when I say “a big spoonful of almond butter”. I kinda like the way this looks.

I’m going to go to the gym in a little bit for some upper body and maybe a little elliptical. No runs for me today…..I’m incredibly anxious about the doctor this afternoon so please keep my bad feet in your thoughts (as stinky as that sounds!).

Happy Friday!!!!!

I’d say, go to Gainesville if you truly want to go – you’ll make the right choice, I know it!

The breakfast photograph looks great to me! 🙂

Go to the game! You will have a ball and be so glad you did! There’s nothing like live action sports. Plus, you will get “boy-time!” Always a plus, well, most of the time a plus! ha!

Congratulations on finishing your night classes.

Good luck at the Dr. today. Here’s hoping you are up and running tomorrow! Prayers~

I say go for it. Life is too short, and you’ll never say to yourself “oh thank goodness I didn’t spend that extra $$/drive all the way to the game in a short weekend/skip watching my bf act like he’s in college again” know what i mean? and you won’t have late nights next week right? so you could def get to bed early on monday etc!

    Hey there,

This is my first post but I must say I totally sympathize with you and your running pain. I have been plagued with terrible knee pain all summer and miss really running so much so I wish you the best of luck at the Doc and hope you get some good news.

And I agree with everyone else you should definitely go to the game 🙂

If you think it’ll be fun, I say do it! Spontaneous adventures usually end up being a blast, and it’s not an everyday occurrence. Just make sure there are still hotel rooms available before you hit the road!

Definitely go to the game, it will be fun! But I also understand having a boyfriend who loves to relive his college/early twenties days whenever he gets together with a group of his guy friends or there is a big event. This alter ego comes out, but it is funny.

  • Anne P
    September 5, 2008 at 3:44 pm

i agree you should go to the game 🙂 you don’t go out and party much or do spontaneous/college-y stuff like that often, so it’s totally worth it i’d say and it’d be something fun and different 🙂 like someone else said, once you’re there you won’t regret spending the money and later you won’t remember how much it cost but how much fun it was!

  • caitlin (see bride run)
    September 5, 2008 at 3:44 pm

alright, i just left you a voicemail but here’s the gist of it: YOU SHOULD COME TO THE GAME WITH US! it would be so much fun!! it is going to be impossible to get a hotel room in g-ville right now, but we are planning to just suck it up and drive back. we can carpool and take turns driving on the way home… it’s only two hours, it shouldn’t be horrendous! you and i can escape the madness of football frat boys whenever we need to! TRUST ME, i will need to escape at some point!

i’m not sure what time we are leaving here, future hus wants to make it to college game day, but i dunno about that. we’re eventually going to meet up with my aunt and uncle, who are HUGE UF fans, and i think they’ll be tailgating and stuff, too.

don’t be a bump on the log!! let’s go!! call me back.

RYAN – if you’re reading this, make her come! 😀

I’m not sure I can follow up to Caitlin’s sweet comment (go with her! you’ll have fun!) but I did want to say good luck at the doc. Don’t be nervous– any doc who is accustomed to treating runners will help you do whatever it takes to get back to running (healthily) ASAP! Really. They know how crazy we can be :). It will be a relief to know what you have to do to run pain-free since you are clearly dedicated to doing what it takes.

I have to echo everyone else and say go to the game! Lift is definitely too short, however, this is coming from a girl who has definitley stayed home on more than one weekend night if I’m feeling too tired so I totally understand how you’re feeling if you stay.

Have a question, I’m getting sick of measuring out my pb (I don’t count calories but I’m always worried about overdoing it with pb cuz its so high cal) would you say that is one tablespoon or more like 1 1/2 in the pic? I’m trying to get a visual representation of how much a tablespoon to 1 1/2 would look like outside my measuring thingy. Thanks!!

Last class, so bitter sweet. Enjoy it though!

And GO to the game! Super fun (even though short) weekends like that only come around so often. Just go and enjoy it! I’m sure you won’t regret going if you choose to.

And best of luck with the doctor’s and the foot! I hope it all works out for you.

Oh, and the variety in oatmeal pic is very nice. Love seeing that huge spoonful of delicious AB.

    September 5, 2008 at 6:07 pm

I say go to the game also and let loose so you don’t even notice if your boyfriend gets too drunk and forgets he graduated way too long ago, besides maybe you could stop by your favorite Dragonfly restaurant on the way!
BethT you are hereby banned from the blog, Tennessee sucks!

    September 5, 2008 at 7:12 pm

    Hey Jenna,

I think Ryan’s comment is hysterical. I was (and am) a huge nerd in college, so I never missed one class. Now I wish I had lived it up a bit more, you will probably not remember the class, but you will remember the game and time with the bf (and if you don’t you will be reminded with the pictures the next day for sure).

    September 5, 2008 at 7:23 pm

I understand the dilemma… but still… you gotta go to the game and have fun with Ryan! I’m sure you will have a blast and tons of pictures to show us when you get back 🙂 Oh, and… Ryan is probably right about getting drunk so you don’t notice how drunk he is hahaha. Love Ryan’s comments!

    September 5, 2008 at 7:25 pm

    angelcubbie,

I’m pretty sure that glob of almond butter would constitute more or less a tbsp. I’ve done this for so long that I basically know what a tbsp is…more or less a small amount. Was that glob really so big?! That’s what I eat everday and I never thought of it as extremely large. It’s only one spoonful!

I like the picture of your oats–it’s the same way I do mine! I add a tsp or so of cocoa powder just for extra chocolate-y goodness, but oats+flax+soymilk+almond butter+banana = heavenly! And so darn filling!

hehe yes switch it back! the farmers market picture was cute! that’s funny i saw it only up for a few minutes. clearly i was stalking your page. but yeah i really like that picture, i remember it from your “about me” page or something like that back in the day 🙂
