So, this morning I was all set to do an hour of yoga in my living room but ended up only doing 40 minutes and then just laid on the floor on my mat for an extra long savasana. It was very much needed….sometimes the best sort of practice is when you just can lay and be still with your thoughts.
Here’s my savasana playlist
This playlist is actually called “smooth rider” in my itunes. How lame am I?! I heart the Elizabethtown soundtrack big time…one of my very favorites that is currently in my disk changer in my car!
Lunch was pretty boring. Sorry about that!
Just a turkey, hummus and provolone sandwich on Arnold double fiber bread with an apple. Munch, munch, munch. Drank some apricot white tea as well.
I’m heading to the studio from 4-7:30 this afternoon to log a few more hours at the front desk. No class tonight though…..I’m saving my hours for my favorite lunchtime flow tomorrow!

LeiannaSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:06 pm
Love that you get to work off your yoga classes, so lucky!
Enjoy the night!
Cait (Cait's Plate)September 15, 2009 at 1:11 pm
Not boring at all!!
In fact, I think you just convinced me to have a turkey sandwich for dinner 🙂

Looked at the playlist first without reading, and started wondering how The Dreaming Fields was a good workout / run song?
jennaSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:17 pm
It’s not! Its for relaxation.
Evan ThomasSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:19 pm
Never be sorry for your lunch. Eat what you feel and then post, don’t worry about how it will look when it comes out so long as it hits the taste buds just right 🙂
Courtney (The Hungry Yogini)September 15, 2009 at 1:23 pm
Oooooh if you change your mind, Ashley’s class is more than amazing. So jealous! Give everyone my love at the studio =)
Have a great afternoon!
MeganSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:25 pm
I noticed that you have some Ryan Adams on your playlist – my all time favorite! If you want a fun, high energy song of his to run to check out “Magick” from the Cardinology cd. Super fun song.
BTW, love your blog. I check it out every day but this is my first time posting a comment!
JuliaSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:30 pm
Great that you took the ‘rest’ during yoga, because that was probably what your body needed! Have a great day, xxx Julia (Taste of Living)
StephSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:42 pm
I love Ryan Adams!
JennaSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:42 pm
I’m a huge Amos Lee fan. He played here at the Minnesota Zoo two summers ago and I went and saw him. SO GOOD! I’m glad that you got some much needed relaxation in 🙂
Nothing wrong with your lunch either! Sometimes the simple lunches are the best.
Have fun at the studio this afternoon!
JennaSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:51 pm
looks like a yummy lunch sandwich for me! have fun workin tonight!
SandraSeptember 15, 2009 at 1:55 pm
I LOVE your blog. But I have been away for a couple of weeks and am confused by your post regarding the tailor remarking that you’re single …and now you’re living at home. Did you make more life changes? Can you give us an update?
jennaSeptember 15, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Hmmmm yes! The never ending soap opera, which is my life, continues. Ryan and I broke up about a month and a half ago and I currently live with my parents while I get ready to make my next big move…..
kay (eating machine)September 15, 2009 at 2:10 pm
haha love the ryan adams
i saw him in concert once and i’m pretty sure i’ve never seen anyone quite so clearly on drugs. but it was still a great show.
Megan (The Runner's Kitchen)September 15, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Love the playlist! Most of my playlists are pump-me up running tunes – two of my favs are “Lose Yourself” by Eminem and “Electric Feel” by the MGMT. Your lunch looks very wholesome 🙂 Those are the best kind!
brandiSeptember 15, 2009 at 2:18 pm

eastmountainsouth put out one album before they “broke up” as a duo. ITUNES IT. i love them. also, “hard times” was written by bob dylan (who is my numba one fave) so it’s even more special to me.
love hearing about new music – keep up the itunes screenshots! 😀

I love creating workout playlists. They are so motivating and inspiring. I share your love of Ben Harper and Amos Lee. I’m also super excited for your trip to California. I live in San Jose, just south of SF. Can’t wait to see pics from your trip!
Inspired by you and the other Healthy Living Summit bloggers, I just started my own blog at http://www.frostingandfroth.com. If you get a free minute, please check it out. 🙂

Love all the Ryan Adams! My favorite “soothing” Ryan Adams song is I See Monsters. Or Wonderwall. Or Stop. Or I Taught Myself How to Grow Old. Or When the Stars Go Blue. I could go on forever… 🙂

your playlist looks awesome! have you ever heard of the artist Bon Iver? I really love his music, and looking at the other music you have on this list makes me think he could fit into your “smooth rider” playlist if you’re looking for additions. 🙂
SuzanneSeptember 15, 2009 at 6:16 pm
Love that Sarah Brightman song! It’s so pretty! 🙂

LynnaSeptember 15, 2009 at 6:55 pm
I have been practicing yoga on and off for awhile and have recently been having trouble making a fluid movement from down dog into warrior one etc. I keep trying to step my feet between my hands but quite often I just can’t make it that far. Do you have any tips for this? Or for making a fluid jump from down dog to the front of the mat?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Michelle-pure2rawSeptember 15, 2009 at 8:01 pm
I love your playlist!!! I thought I was the only person that loves the Elizabethtown soundtrack, I love the movie too. Deliver me is what of my favs too.
angieinatlantaSeptember 15, 2009 at 8:28 pm
Time with your thoughts is always valuable and much needed!
People today, myself included, don’t sit with themselves enough. I think we all could work on it.
Amanda (Two Boos Who Eat)September 15, 2009 at 8:46 pm
I really love the Elizabethtown soundtrack too!
Christina MINDFUL LIVINGSeptember 15, 2009 at 8:47 pm
tonight at yoga i realized why i love it so much. when your world is pure craziness and you feel like youare just going to breakdown- a quick session of yoga always fixes it!!! i wish i could have stayed in savasana longer tonight too but i think the class would have lookd at my strangely if i just stopped doing yoga half way through ahha
MegSeptember 15, 2009 at 9:01 pm
Great playlist! Taking time to lay and be quiet with your thoughts can be so healing. Hope you had a wonderful day.
JessicaSeptember 16, 2009 at 9:03 am
That is always my favorite part of yoga. I have been known to lay there for an extended period of time as well…:)
Morgan (Does This Blog Make My Butt Look Fast)September 16, 2009 at 9:58 am
