Good Morning Run

Happy Saturday!

I got out super early from school last night (8:30!!) so I got a chance to relax a bit. I took a bubble bath and read in bed for over an hour. I picked up Danielle Steel “Amazing Grace” because its been sitting in my closet for about 6 months now unread and I finished my last new book. I’m surprisingly really into it! I didn’t want to stop reading but I went to bed around 11:00 so I could get up early and exercise.

This morning I had a piece of toast with pb:

And then I hit the great outdoors for some cardio! I did a 25 minute run (not galloway method–just a straight on run) followed by suicide sprints outside in the street and ab work at the gym. Suicides ARE suicide and I used to hate to do them at tennis practice when my coach always made us before we could go home. However, they work wonders at getting your heart rate up there and gaining endurance. I felt strong and good today as I finished up my workout with them although some people were probably wondering what I was doing when I was sprinting back and forth in the parking lot ;). For abs I did 2 sets of hanging ab crunches (15 reps), 2 sets of inverse crunches (15 reps) and 2 sets of crunches with a 10 lb weight (20 reps).

When I got home I made an oatmeal pancake with 1/2 cup oats, 3 egg whites, about 1.5 tbsp almond butter (or a whopping spoonful!), half a mashed banana and a big cup of fresh berries. It was sooo delicious this morning and perfect after my workout!

I’m jumping in the shower and heading home…I’ll report back after lunch! Talk to you soon!

I am glad you were able to relax some last night!

You inspired me to have a pre workout snack this morning. I had a half a glass of organic low fat chocolate milk and I think it really helped fuel me for the workout. I felt great afterwards!

    Erica,

I always use rolled oats and let them soak with the egg whites overnight.

Oh, I miss fresh berries… We’re heading towards spring here now, so strawberries are starting to show up, but blueberries and others are still not on the selves… that looks yummy!
