Well, I fell asleep at 9:45 last night while reading this book and woke up at 7:50 so what does that make me? I guess I just really needed that ten hours of sleep. I feel pretty much like a new person today and am really glad I busted my butt to get all that stuff done yesterday. So nice to wake up in a totally clean apartment while wearing clean pajamas.

I feel even more proud of myself that I finally finished putting together my new bedside table (from IKEA). It’s been sitting in bits and pieces on my living room floor now for over a MONTH! The boyfriend started putting it together then things got really busy so I just decided to take matters into my own hands. It looks really good and you would never guess that one drawer is in backwards.

Don’t worry about that. It still is fully functional.
Breakfast was overnight oats:

July 13, 2010 at 8:29 amYou’re even more blind than me! I didn’t think it was possible! π
Lasik would be so awesome. That is one my “some day” to do list…

July 13, 2010 at 8:31 amI’ve totally done the same thing when putting together my own furniture! Love your sunflowers. π
Jess @ MTL Veggie
July 13, 2010 at 8:54 amOh Ikea furniture, how I love that it’s so easy to do things like put drawers in backwards (something I’ve done on numerous occasions). I’ve actually got that exact table- it’s perfect for cramming tons of books inside for bedtime reading π
Jessica @ The Process of Healing
July 13, 2010 at 8:55 amI’m practically blind too, it’s all good π

July 13, 2010 at 9:11 amI have -6 perscription in both eyes too! When I wear my glasses people say, “wow those are thick”, and I say, “yes I am blind.” haha! Thank goodness for contacts! π
Anya @ Fitness & Sunshine
July 13, 2010 at 9:14 amYikes, I have -8 in one eye and -10 in the other. But I guess sunglasses are the upside of yearly appointments. π

July 13, 2010 at 9:21 amOvernight oats. I must make those soon. And not to be a total creeper but I think I have the same nail polish that you have on your nightstand! Love that color π

July 13, 2010 at 9:27 amI’m just as blind as you! I’ve always been told that there’s no point in me getting lasik since I would still have to rock contacts/glasses – just lower prescriptions.

July 13, 2010 at 9:28 amMy SIL had Lasic when it was very new! She loved it, she used to have to wear the very thick glasses! And both of my sisters had it done a few years ago too and just love it! I may do it in a few years as my eyes get worse! They are not too bad so far! I just hate having to wear glasses every day! And the clip on sunglasses just make me look old! Have a great day Jenna!
Rebecca
July 13, 2010 at 9:29 amThat’s such a great picture of you! I need to go to an eye exam. Love the table from Ikea. I just love Ikea, period.

July 13, 2010 at 9:32 am-8.5 in both eyes… I feel your pain!
Love waking up to a clean house!

July 13, 2010 at 9:37 amI was legally blind! It was so ridiculous. I remember being afraid of doing anything that might potentially cause one of my contacts to fall out (swimming, etc.) So I saved up and got Lasik and it was seriously the best decision I ever made! I highly recommend it when you’re feeling up for it!

July 13, 2010 at 9:46 amI am annoyed with myself that I don’t understand why a visit to the eye doctor means you can wear sunglasses inside?
I have only been to the eye doc once, 8 years ago, when my eyes needed a little help reading when I got tired. I still have those glasses, but I rarely need them now.
In other news, will I be seeing you in August or not?! I hope hope hope so! If not you might find a surprise guest at your door one day.
jenna
July 13, 2010 at 10:45 amHahaha because they dilate your eyes and you need to wear shades to see cause your so sensitive to light!
Emailing you today about August…
S @ extremebalance.net/blog
July 13, 2010 at 12:32 pmI wondered, too! Is it those dilating drops? I only JUST had them for the first time… sticky!

July 13, 2010 at 9:50 amI always told myself I’d get Lasik when I’m thirty… now I’m 33… the clock is ticking π
Michelle @ NewLeafEats
July 13, 2010 at 9:57 amI just made four different trips to the eye doctor to get contacts. I’m so blind that up to this point the only contacts I could wear were the hard lenses. I told my doctor I wanted to try soft and it took a while to find a prescription that probably is as good as it’s gonna get. I don’t know exactly what they are, but with one near-sighted eye, one far-sighted eye, a lazy eye, and AWFUL astigmatism, my vision is a mess. π
Hallie
July 13, 2010 at 10:08 amWahoo for the “blind as a bat” peeps! -7 (with astigmatism, oh and the start of cataracts) up in here…and last night I was driving and having trouble reading the street signs and I was really hoping my eyes were just tired or I need a fresh pair of contacts but I don’t want my eyes to get any worse! I need my eyes to stay stable so I can get LASIK when I can save up the $$$, but the doctors won’t do it if your eyes are still changing/worsening! Blahhh….

July 13, 2010 at 10:48 amHA! I have you beat in myopia! I wear a -6.5 in both eyes. I hear you on the whole Lasik thing but I’m totally afraid of it. Eek! The thought of eye surgery gives me the heeby geebies.

July 13, 2010 at 11:45 amI love that book. I picked it up on a whim and fell in love with it and finished it in 3 days while on bed rest sick. I’m now reading Midwives which has me equally entranced.
As long as you don’t wear your sunglasses at night you are fine π

July 13, 2010 at 11:49 amevery time I buy/make something from IKEA some part ends up being wrong, upside down, missing, backqwards… lol, I’m glad to see it’s not just me.

July 13, 2010 at 12:01 pmWhat brand of oatmeal do you use for your overnight oats? I use some organic irish oats and trust me it comes out horrible every time I try to do the overnight mix. And I have tried several different measurements for the liquid/siggi’s yogurt to oats ratio- NO luck- Yours look so good so i am hoping that your brand is one i can find in syracuse, ny.
