Breakfast

Indecisive

Happy Thursday!

I was hoping to wake up and feel wonderful this morning but my throat is a little sore still. I hate getting sick!!! I’m also feeling a little behind since I couldn’t go to school yesterday. I always like to know what’s going on and I feel a little lost. Oh well, I’m sure I’ll catch up quickly. For breakfast I made a big bowl of oatmeal with 1 cup light vanilla silk, 1/2 banana, 1 spoonful pb, 1 spoonful flax and a little cinnamon sugar topping :).

And I really had no idea what to pack for a snack but finally settled on a cup of peanut butter panda’s with almonds. Sort of random but it’ll work.

Man, I’m super sore from that yoga class yesterday!!!! Don’t ya love that?! My abs are definitely feeling it..I was hoping to feel well enough to run on the treadmill today but I don’t know if that will happen. I guess I’ll just have to make the call later. If not, more yoga for me!

Have a great morning—see you for lunch!

Ahh, I can’t say it enough (but I DO mean it) – GET WELL SOON!!! Hang in there!!!

I do a yoga/strength-training combination routine, a few days per week – that, coupled, with my daily and multiple dance practices, makes me “feel the burn” as well, haha 🙂

    Enjoy your Thursday!

Hope you feel better soon! I just tried the yoga download for runners, I completely loved it! I love yoga at home, it is so relaxing and I don’t have to fight traffic to get to the gym. Now only if my cat Brodie didn’t try to attack my hair when I am practicing….

    Feel better Jenna!

On another note – I’m going to Paris in two weeks for business and crossing my fingers for some down time while I’m there. The last and only time I’ve been there was in high school, and we did all the touristy stuff. Any recommendations for what to do/where to go/what to eat this time around? I’d love to get your suggestions – or anyone else’s!

I have a question for anyone: I’m trying to lose about six or seven pounds, and I work out quite a bit (cardio about 45 minutes, 5 days a week; strength training about 30 minutes, 2 days a week), and I eat about 1600 calories a day. I’m not too hungry when I go to bed, but every single night I wake up ravenous. I’m so hungry I have to eat something (cottage cheese, yogurt) to be able to go back to sleep. I know this late-night eating is keeping me from losing the weight I want, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I know the obvious answer is “Duh, eat more during the day,” but I’m unable to lose weight by doing that. Any help would be so great!

Oh jenna, sorry you’re feeling sick, hope you get better soon. All your veggie juices etc.. must be helping! When I’m feeling under the weather I juice a lemon and have it with hot water and honey. Works a treat on sore throats.

    Feel better!!!

And if you feel like another drink from the WF juice bar, opt for the “Waldorf” with a little bit of parsley. GREAT boost of energy!

I hate getting sick too. My method is to ignore it as much as possible and tell myself that “I don’t have time” to get sick. Doesn’t always work, of course.
I really like ginger green tea when I’m sick, by the way. Tazo makes a great one.

I wouldn’t push it if your not feeling 100%, just take it easy.

I am sore too from too many lunges!

    Feel better.

Do you have any seasonal allergies? When mine act up, I get a headache and a sore throat from post nasal drip. I have enough pollen/mold/&c related allergies that I just assume its allergies when I don’t feel well until something proves otherwise…
I’ve been eating local raw honey on stuff (toast, tea, yogurt) because I’ve heard it’s supposed to get your body used to local pollens and it reduces your allergies, but it’s hard to say if it’s been working…

    Jenna,
Just had to say woohoo for yoga! 🙂 (from your friendly neighborhood yoga teacher)

Hope you feel wonderful very soon. and Veggie Girl… I didn’t know you were a dancer? Is that your full time job? Ballet? Very cool!

Sally, I would say for sure eat more, sweetie! If you are that active (although I am not a professional so take this with a grain of sea salt) you probably just need more calories on a daily basis. I have had many a friend lose weight by UPPING their calories and they felt so good! Just my 2 cents. hugs!

    Carolina,

Which yogurt shop are you referring to? The one I go to at home in Tampa sadly is not a chain..it’s family owned…but it is kind of like the california chain, Pinkberry, with all natural, plain fat free yogurt. Good luck!
