Just Like Jelly

Hello friends!

I’m sorry for the delay in my post but I was at yoga until 2 and then have been working on a new page for yall ever since!

It was brought to my attention that I never really shared how I got so into yoga in the first place and it might be important for some people to hear, so if you want, you can read the whole story here (or just click on the link on the above banner). 🙂

Anyways, before I went to yoga I snacked on two dates stuffed with peanut butter. YUMMY!

Yoga was AWESOME today. It was a power class and, man, was it powerful. The class was packed and quite warm, and I could just feel every muscle in my body quivering as I got into each pose and stayed there for, what felt like, way too long. By the end of class I was drenched in sweat and my body felt like jelly.

When I got home I ate exactly what I was craving—-yogurt and granola 🙂

img_4355

This is a mix of a fage 0%, 1/2 cup peanut butter granola, a sprinkle of cracklin’ oat bran (!!) and a sliced banana. Perfecto.

Then I packed my dinner for tonight since we were told to bring our own food! I packed a cute little turkey pinwheel wrap with boar’s head turkey, provolone cheese and dijon mustard—-

img_4357

Some grapies and a square of chocolate—-

img_4358

And a yogurt for a snack later since I won’t get home until around 11:15!

img_4359

This is some new yogurt that the guy at Greenwise talked me into trying. He says its awesome so we shall see! I’ll let you know what I think….I tend to be a yogurt snob sometimes. 😉

I won’t be back tonight since I get home so late and have to be up at 6:45 for my surgery in the morning. But, I promise to catch up on all my emails and questions tomorrow when all I have to do is lay in bed and recover. Sorry for the delay!

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and I will see you tomorrow when I get home from the dreaded dentist! Blah!!

HELP! Lately I have been in this frustrating cylce where I can’t stop eating at night. It starts with what I think will just be some ice cream and turns into cookies, candy, granola bars, etc. I eat until I’m so full and hurting. Then I go for a few days where I’m fine. Has anyone experienced this and if so how did you overcome it?

What kind of yogurt did you eat in France? I’ve recently been hooked on this really good whole milk yogurt from TJ’s. It’s so creamy!

Jenna, Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. I enjoyed your yoga story. I am starting to think that you might need to consider a new name for the blog – the ‘run’ part doesn’t seem as relevant now like yoga is. What about “Eat, Live, Om” or “Eat, Live, Breathe”? Just a thought – I know you’ve had the blog for a while and the name is great as is, but something yoga-inspired seems to fit your personality so much better!

That’s a good yogurt brand but I don’t like the mango flavor. It’s locally made–they have an awesome plain and strawberry. The husband and I got to try all of the flavors at Whole Foods one day when the yogurt maker and her friend were sampling all of the flavors. I hope you enjoy it! Cool yoga page, too.

The story of how you cam to yoga is fantastic. I really enjoyed it.
I have just recently started taking beginner classes and it’s amazing how my day can totally turn around after that 50 min class. It’s wonderful.
I just stumbled onto your blog this morning and have spent the last hour reading! You have an extremely motivational website here and it’s very enjoyable to read!

Hey Jenna! I have a question about yoga for you. I’m really interested in starting to practice it, but I have minimal experience with it. I’ve only done a yoga for abs video that I bought several years ago. I know that there are many different types of yoga, but which is the best type for a beginner to start with? Also, would just doing a video be okay starting out, or do you think it is better to actually go to a class at a gym? What is/are the best book(s) to read about to learn about each type of yoga? Thanks for your help!

Hey Jenna- thanks so much for the inspiration! I signed up for my first ever yoga class and had my first class this morning! It was early and I thought I’d be dead tired but I had a wonderful experience. You can read about it on my blog (I mention you as my yoga inspiration)!
I know you put a lot of effort into keeping up this blog and I just wanted to let you know that you’ve inspired at least one person- me! (though I know you inspire many others also) My new yoga class lasts until mid April and I’m so excited- I’ll keep you updated on my progress!

    love always,
