Thanks to everyone for their kind words and virtual hugs about my little situation yesterday morning. It did suck but I’m thankful that it wasn’t worse. I think when you go through stuff in your life that IS a really, really big deal (like deaths in the family), other stuff just seems a bit more miniscule. I mean, sure it sucks and sure I will use it as an excuse to drink lots of wine and eat chocolate, but at the end of the day it’s only two hundred bucks and a new window.
At least that’s what I keep telling myself.
Because I was sort of landlocked in my apartment for the day, I tried to make the best of things and use the time to work more on my manuscript and get caught up on emails and phone calls. Lunch was a turkey sandwich on sprouted grain bread with a side salad made from organic greens, cherry tomatoes and Athenos feta.

July 17, 2010 at 7:52 amSorry about your noggin 🙁 That would have given me a migraine, too. You have a great perspective, though– in the grand scheme of things, there are worse life occurrences. Hope the rest of your weekend is awesome!

July 17, 2010 at 7:52 amThat’s so true. When I start to complain about the things that go wrong in my life, I think about how others have it much much worse.. Life is too short, you know?

July 17, 2010 at 7:59 amOh no! I’m sorry to hear about the migraine. Get lots of rest and if nothing else, take a caffeine tablet and chug water.
Also, props to you for your maturity and insight re: the window sitch. You are totally right, and it’s hard to keep things in perspective!

July 17, 2010 at 8:03 amI was completely shocked at your post yesterday. I can’t believe that happened in your own complex!!! I would have a migraine too after all that. We’ll all be sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.

July 17, 2010 at 8:08 amYou have such a positive attitude, Jenna! I guess in that situation all you can do is move on and move up.
Here’s to a great day!

July 17, 2010 at 8:26 amYou definitely have a great attitude. Hopefully the window is fixed soon so you won’t be landlocked much longer. Have you talked to someone in the complex to see if there’s something they can do to prevent this from happening again?? Is this something that has happened to other people in there? Seems like there should be something they could do to increase the security!
Hope your day gets better and your migraine goes away!
Tina
July 17, 2010 at 8:37 amHope your migraine goes away! Those are the worst. I have been experiencing some recently and can’t do anything but take Tylenol since I’m pregnant. Very frustrating.
And what a great perspective on the window. I always try to remind myself that if something isn’t going to matter a year from now, it probably isn’t the hugest deal.

July 17, 2010 at 9:15 amI’m glad you were able to see the other side of it. And it allowed you to get other work done.
Now take care of yourself and that headache. Migraines are no fun.

July 17, 2010 at 10:09 amI hope you feel better soon. I get migraines……I was wondering what dose of feverfew you take. I’ve never tried it, but have read that it can help.
So sorry about your day yesterday too. I can see how that would cause a migraine . 🙁

July 17, 2010 at 10:10 amLast night, was quite ticked thinking about the a$$hat(s) that did the dirty deed. The sense of violation rankles.
What would Laura Ingalls do, I wondered? I loved how she’d get that tight mouth, narrowed eyes, and stomp off on her heels and so something that would have ‘Paw; doing that hilarious laugh of his. ‘Little House’ was such a heartwarming show. So funny:

Maybe we should all snuggle on a sofa watching ‘Little House’ reruns on Hulu while swigging wine and eating Eggplant and cheese. 🙂
