Morning!
Its rainy and cold outside…the weatherman LIED! Today was supposed to be sunny and 65 degrees. π
Pancake for breakfast!

I used 1/3 cup Kodiak mix, scoop of yogurt, peanut butter, 1/2 banana and raspberry syrup. My pancake was a bit flat though this morning and I think that was because I didn’t let the mix sit long enough before cooking. My best pancake attempts are made after I let the mix sit for a few minutes!
Time to get the day started…..remember to keep buying raffle tickets for the Garmin 705 giveaway! π

March 12, 2010 at 9:40 amI hate it when the weather people lie! today’s gorgeous in the mountains though, so I can’t be too mad π enjoy your friday!

March 12, 2010 at 9:42 amIf I don’t get my hands on that pancake mix one of these days I’m going to be very upset. I’m always so jealous of your pancakes girl, they look SO good!!!
Kelly
March 12, 2010 at 10:00 amBoooo stupid weather people. Despite being too allegedly too flat, your pancake still looks delicious.
Lauren @ louisianagrown
March 12, 2010 at 10:02 amI know what you mean. Pancakes are always better once the batter takes on that fluffy bubbly look from sitting. Sorry that the weatherman lied to you; I’m sending some sunny vibes your way!

March 12, 2010 at 10:02 amok im having pancakes for lunch. what syrup do you use?

March 12, 2010 at 10:03 amMy first few pancakes always come out yucky, then after that they end up ok.

March 12, 2010 at 10:04 amMy husband and I are still loving the Kodiak mix you sent!! And our weatherman lied too, but in our case, it’s a good thing!

March 12, 2010 at 10:04 amI think there is something to letting the mix set. I’ve seen recipes that even call for the batter to sit overnight.

March 12, 2010 at 10:04 ampar for the course re: weathermen! Ours never seem to get it right! Here’s hoping the sun comes out to play with you soon π
Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine
March 12, 2010 at 10:06 amGrrr the weatherman is notorious for being unreliable! I don’t mind if he predicts rain and it’s sunny, but the other way around makes me so sad!! Yummy looking pancake breakfast π
Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman
March 12, 2010 at 10:08 amThat reminds me of an SNL sketch where Seth Meyers, playing the weatherman, says, “You know, why am I the only member of the news team that has to predict the future?!”
Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun)
March 12, 2010 at 10:09 amYour jumbo pancakes always look incredibly tasty and filling. I hate false weather predictions. Hope the gloomy sky doesn’t put a damper on your Friday!

March 12, 2010 at 10:10 amThat raspberry syrup sounds delish (looks delish too!)

March 12, 2010 at 10:13 amOur weather sucks today! And it supposed to rain and be super windy for tomorrow’s 5k. π

March 12, 2010 at 10:17 amGreat pancakes…use a full banana — make it mushy!
I’ve been really into the whole oats+cereal combos with all the generous mix-ins lately.
I read your previous post where you said writing is draining. I bet u are drained. It must be annoying when u hear others paint it so romantically.. BUT…the thing is this : EVERY job is draining…come work mine and u will probably be in tears 24-7 too π
Have a nice day Jenna π

March 12, 2010 at 10:18 amBoo @ the weathermen, they’re never right. They told us we’d have a warm winter, and we had the coldest one on record pretty much! Bah.
Kaitlin
March 12, 2010 at 10:26 amI wish the weatherman had lied to me yesterday, then I would have woken up to sunshine today instead of the thunderstorm booming outside my window right now…gross. Have a great day, hope the weather clears up some!

March 12, 2010 at 10:32 amAwww bummer on the weather. It’s an ugly one today here too π

March 12, 2010 at 10:54 amYesterday here in Carmel the weather was just INCREDIBLE now today all dreary again. By Spring/Summer here and in Wine Country will bee consistently sunny. Never before saw FIELDS of Cala Lilies as did yesterday–put pix on my site if interested hit my name. And also, Jenna, a book you may be interested or read ‘Lunch in Paris’ also has recipes. Love the format. Also noted on Paris Breakfasts blog post on Elizabeth Bard’s book she wrote about The French Way and American Way. So true I laughed. Always a surprise as both western cultures but lots of ideas absolutely opposites. But love the book and the charming cover.

March 12, 2010 at 10:55 amPS pancake looks great…up at 6AM and haven’t eaten….feeling faint guess I’d better. lol

March 12, 2010 at 11:22 amBoo for unpredictable weather!! And weather men that can’t predict the changes. π That breakfast looks A-H-mazing!

March 12, 2010 at 11:24 amI am curious, where do you get that amazing looking raspberry syrup?

March 12, 2010 at 11:29 amI never knew that about letting pancake batter sit. Thanks for the tip!

March 12, 2010 at 11:31 amMy grandma makes the BEST pancakes and she lets them sit for 20-30 minutes before making them too π oh and your syrup looks so pretty!!

March 12, 2010 at 11:37 amI like your little tip to leave pancake mix sitting for a min before cooking. I always prefer pancakes made from day old batter for that reason so it’s good to know that just a few minutes can also do the trick!

March 12, 2010 at 11:54 amWe just ran out of the Kodiak pancake mix and the raspberry sauce! So disappointing when it is gone! My husband loves it and was making it often! Need to go and order more of both!
And being in Florida for a while, you should know about unpredictable weather! We have had a ton of rain in the past 24 hours! Pools are overflowing and streets are closed due to flooding! But our weathermen were actually right this time and were calling for a bunch of rain today! It started a little earlier than they thought yesterday!
Have a great weekend Jenna!

March 12, 2010 at 12:09 pmAARRGGG!! I hate when the weatherman lies!! no cool weatherman!!!
Just to make you feel better it has been POURING here in Orlando for the last 2 days straight on and off (I am sure you remember the good old FL torrential down pours that make you almost have to pull over b/c you canβt see 2 feet in front of you!!)

March 12, 2010 at 5:57 pmFor some reason I find that rain brightens my spirits a bit! I like running in the rain, and I also like sitting inside and getting some work done with hot cocoa or tea. It’s just relaxing to me.
Hope the editing is going well!

March 12, 2010 at 7:08 pmBooo for incorrect weather predictions!! The pancake looks divine though!

March 13, 2010 at 6:11 amI hate that! The weather people here told us it was going to be like 73 and clear on Wednesday and instead it poured (so much you couldn’t see anything outside) then hailed a little too! By noon it all stopped and was nice
