Hope y’all had a good Friday. I was on FIRE with writing today. I love days like that…..I sat down to write, the words started flowing and next thing I know hours have gone by and I’ve written about 15 pages!!!!!! what what?!
Morning snack was an apple (no picture)..sorry! And afternoon snack was a jumbo grapefruit:
I had lunch with my friend Michaela at Cafe Chloe, which is this great little hidden gem in Santa Rosa. I had the quinoa and roasted carrot salad and it was delicious.
Love that French bread!
I actually headed into the city later in the afternoon because I had a dinner date with Katie, a blog reader who just moved to the area from New York. The blogging world is so weird….so often we feel like we really “know” each other because a big part of our lives are shared online. Katie and I have kept up for over two years now and I was so excited to finally meet her in person! Like me, she’s a culinary school grad and we had lots of fun stories to share. We met at La Med, which is one of my favorite spots in Fillmore.

Are you back running without pain? It’s a wonder you haven’t entered any swimming competitions with all of the sports you take up 😉 That salad looks delicious, is San Fran a lot more expensive than Healdsburg? Love that pic of the bridge, very artsy…

hey, just catching up on your life while trying to figure out why my hubby and i just wasted a couple hours watching the hangover on dvd. he chooses to look at the bright side of the evening where we built a pizza together (he pretended to enjoy the vegan cheese), drank bubbly and snuggled on the couch while i keep thinking “i missed a new episode of ghost whisperer for this stupid movie?” LOL also wondering if you’re familiar with alicia silverstone’s book the kind diet? if so, what are your thoughts? i made her granola tonight and it sure is delicious. i’ve been a vegetarian for 20 years and i’m toying with the idea of a vegan diet.

Allie (Live Laugh Eat)March 12, 2010 at 10:28 pm
Two great salads in one day! Wow–I wish all salads looked like those. You are a writing machine. I had to write 1,000 words for a class and barely made it. That’s like breakfast for you 🙂
Alyson @ Nourished FitnessMarch 12, 2010 at 10:41 pm
Both your salads today look amazing! I just had quinoa for the first time recently, and I’m minorly in love.. it could get serious :p I feel exactly the same way about SF! I went to Cal for undergrad, and if I would have had a good job, I would have stayed in a second!
Run SarahMarch 12, 2010 at 10:48 pm
Both salads look awesome!! I still need to try red quinoa, it looks so much prettier than regular quinoa.
JennyMarch 12, 2010 at 10:56 pm
That salad looks yummy! Like an upgraded Panera:)

I can’t imagine writing 15 pages in 1 DAY – that’s insane. You are on fire! Work hard, play hard. So cool of you to drive to The City for a lil’ blogger meet up. Hope you have a nice a.m. runnn.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE San Fran!! I have only been once and I was literally depressed for a week when I got back to FL. I remember thinking that I almost wished I wouldn’t have gone b/c I loved it so much. I even painted a painting of the G.G. Bridge when I got back 🙂
Its only missing one thing.. SUNSHINE!! I do think it is so amazing that I would at least try to sacrifice my love for the sunshine to live there b/c it just has so much to enjoy and take in.
Lisa (bakebikeblog)March 13, 2010 at 12:37 am
oooh I am in love with quinoa at the moment 🙂
Looks like you had a great day!!
Freya @ Brit Chick RunsMarch 13, 2010 at 12:41 am
OoER a peach latter- that sounds like a very odd combo, I’m not surprised you tossed it :s
Glad you had fun!
Still Life in Southeast AsiaMarch 13, 2010 at 1:01 am
San Fran is such an amazing city.
Glad you had an awesome day. It’s strange that we are more motivated some days. I try to get as much sleep as possible because that is the only reason I can pinpoint. I hate those days where I have piles of work and my brain is vacationing on another planet.
Hope this inspiration continues for you! 😀

Used to eat at Le Med all the time when lived in Pac Heights. BTW– Forbes just put out its 7th annual report on BEST CITIES IN US FOR SINGLE PEOPLE. Out of 40 cities examined out for culture, job growth, cost of living for singles, ‘coolness’ etc; my former hometown SAN FRANCISCO #1!!! 🙂
Congrats on the writing! The salad looks amazing.

Wow way to be with the writing. I guess take advantage of the good days right?
Ah my downfall of baking – it is seriously half gone (or more) the same day it’s made…
JilMarch 13, 2010 at 4:52 am
Mmm your pictures are awesome, and hooray for a fantastic day of writing!!
AndreaMarch 13, 2010 at 4:58 am

San Francisco is my dream city to live in! I’ve been twice and want to go back – NOW! 😀

Peach tea latte does sound good, but sometimes I get a peach tea aftertaste…I can see how it’s not so good.
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down)March 13, 2010 at 5:51 am
I would love to visit San Fransisco someday…I’ve heard it’s a lot like Boston and I *adore* Boston. 😀
Kristin (Cook, Bake and Nibble)March 13, 2010 at 5:52 am
Both of those salads look great! I have had big fails and successes with tea lattes. I am not a fan of anything fruity. But if it is dark, chai, green or vanilla… yummmm!
Jessica @ The Process of HealingMarch 13, 2010 at 6:00 am
Congrats on the great day of writing! The salad in San Fran looks incredible… so full of yummy things 🙂
It is funny how you really get to know someone through blogging.. the blogging world is awesome!

Love those old-fashioned pictures!

Where are the old- polaroid-y looking photos from? did you take those?
Danielle (Coffee Run)March 13, 2010 at 6:38 am
I always find that I write best when I don’t force it. It’s like I get in “moods” where words just start tumbling out. But I guess you can’t do that when you have a deadline…
Chelsea (Chelsea's Chew and Run Fun)March 13, 2010 at 6:40 am
San Francisco was my place of urban refuge as a teenager and young adult. I hope to settle down there someday! It is expensive, but not nearly as bad as NYC. That salad seriously looks worth the road trip! Not to mention, uniting with fellow bloggers.
Congrats on the writing spree! When the muse is with you, roll with it I say!
ColeMarch 13, 2010 at 6:52 am
I would LOVE to live in San Fran. Sorry about the lame latte…but the salad looks great!
DanielleMarch 13, 2010 at 6:57 am
Ah, hate that! I’m actually a really picky tea drinker so I often can’t take chances 🙁 the eats of the day look fantastic though! I know what you mean about the blogworld, I almost feel like it’s internet friendship dating because I have met so many wonderful people that I’m so close to now.
KaitlinMarch 13, 2010 at 7:01 am
Congrats on the 15 pages, that’s awesome! And that Mediterranean Salad looks delicious!
MMillerMarch 13, 2010 at 7:06 am
So glad you had a great day! Time to round out the book and bring it to a great ending! I guess you need to go over 50,000 so all your editing doesn’t bring you under! So glad the words were flowing today!
Hope your weekend is awesome!
Staceyhttp://stacey-healthylife.blogspot.com/March 13, 2010 at 7:27 am
That looked like such a good salad and with all my favorites. I love when a salad has variety like that.
Deva (Voracious Vorilee)March 13, 2010 at 8:43 am
Those salads look so delicious. I love the colors and flavors that are in both – so many good combinations.
Carolyn @ lovinlosing.comMarch 13, 2010 at 9:34 am
I hate when I try something new and it turns out to be a waste of money! It’s stuff like that which makes us stay in our comfort zone. But then…there’s those times when you discover something you love! 🙂
DaisyMarch 13, 2010 at 1:49 pm
i CANT believe the Peach Tea Latte was gross 🙁 sometimes tea Lattes can go either way. bummer. so nice you got to meet Katie. I had a white Orange Bliss Latte this morning. Twas delicious!! pictures coming soon!!
Cynthia (It All Changes)March 13, 2010 at 3:15 pm
Ewww Peach Tea latte sounds nasty. Sorry it was a waste but how brave of you to try.
I love how when you meet fellow bloggers its like you already know them. I’ve done it a few times and look to do more meet ups.

TiffanyMarch 15, 2010 at 9:12 pm
I totally know what you mean about the Peach Tea Latte. I tasted it when I visited SF over the weekend and hated it! I was so glad to be back in So Cal, enjoying my Winter Dream Tea Latte (see, more reason for you to visit hehe)!
BTW – Went to La Med per your suggestion, and i LOVED it. Can’t wait to visit Nor Cal again over the summer =)
