Made It

Phew! I made it!!!!!! =)

Spin class was AWESOME!!!!!!! Actually (sorry runners), I think I might like it MORE than running! I guess this is God’s way of telling me running wasn’t for me, but spinning class definitely is! I did an hour long “freestyle” class and my heart was pumpin’ the whole time, blasting about about 430 calories. I really think its the music that gets me. I just love it!

When I got home, it was about 7:15 and I was MORE than ready to eat! Luckily, I had this little beauty hidden in the freezer:

I have never tried any of Amy’s Indian dinners before and this far exceeded my expectations. Everything about it was great and very authentic! I loved the spinach and creamy paneer cheese the best. 🙂 However, it was only 290 calories so I beefed it up a little bit with some raw veggies with 2 tbsp hummus and a strawberry chobani for a more balanced and filling meal.

You KNOW I couldn’t wait to break into the Chobani package! 😉 This was my first time tasting an actual flavor other than plain and I was impressed. It actually tasted like a very very very thick yoplait. This would be a great choice for someone that has never tried greek yogurt before. And I’m a big fan of fruit on the bottom. Yum!

It’s 7:45 here and I’m hopping into the shower and then into bed to read! Days go by so quickly right now when they are jam packed…!

Have a good one!

oopsie! I forgot to mention that I actually got to the gym 45 minutes early for my spinning class tonight so I did abs and walked for about 15 minutes on the treadmill prior to the class. I did 3 sets of crunches with legs at 90 (20 reps each set), 3 sets of eagle legged crunches (15 reps each set) and 3 sets of reverse crunches (20 reps each set). Wahoo! I’m glad I DID get to the gym that early though because there were people already claiming their bikes…the class filled up really fast! Thanks for all the advice 🙂

what goes on during spin class, anyway? Is it just biking on stationary bikes the whole time? I’d love to try it!
I actually was not a huge fan of the strawberry Chobani, but then again, I don’t like fruit on the bottom.
The Amy’s looks pretty good though– guess I have to try it.
By the way, it was great to meet you in Chicago!

Wow Jenna! You are such an amazing person! You really do it all don’t you. I am a runner my self & after running a marathon last year & being burnt out I switched over to cycling/road biking. I have now done 2 triathlons & I highly recommend them! More cross training = less injury! I found your blog while surfing the web for some healthy recipes and discovering KathEats. I just started my own blog in attempt to help change the way I myself think about food & hope to inspire other girls to do the same. Have a great night 🙂 Thanks for all the awesome info!

I’ve never tried an amy’s meal before but that one looks great! Especially because for some reason whenever I try to cook indian food it turns out super sub par 🙁

I’m So glad to hear that you liked spin!!! Sounds like it provides just as thorough of a workout as running- not to mention endorphins (is there a ‘spinners high?’ haha)

Good to know that the flavored chobani’s are a hit. Was it really really sweet? And there’s Actual fruit on the bottom? I Wish they had them available near me! haha, you’re making it sound great.

    Have an amazing humpday!

Well I’m glad you enjoyed it- my gym just got a spinning class, i’ll have to try it but I’m very intimidated haha. I tried my first Amy’s frozen product today; one of the burritos and it was delicious. Strawberry chobani is my favorite flavor.

    Jess,

It was sweet but not sickenly so like some yogurts at the store. I’ll always prefer plain yogurt because I just the sour taste and being able to add my own stuff to it, but these are great for something fun and dessert-like…..and it contained 14 grams of protein!

So glad you loved the class! If you really get into it, you should get some spinning shoes so you can lock into the pedals. It is way better that way!! I bought some cheapies, maybe $30.

And if you really love THAT, you should get a road bike! Then you can speed around outside!

I love being on the bike! I’ve never been to an actual class, because the dinky little gym at my college doesn’t offer things like that, but it’s great, especially because I can do my reading (sometimes for class, sometimes not..hehe). I love to just get on there and pedal away for an hour, immersed in my book. The tredmill also makes my shins hurt 🙁 so this is much better!!
