Hey!
Sorry I’ve been MIA all day….I’ve had a crazy productive Saturday and I’m feeling 100 times better after sleeping a solid eight hours last night. This morning I had some Optimum cereal with soymilk and banana for breakfast—

Then headed to the coffee shop and cranked out a few hours of solid writing. I’m really happy with what I wrote today and that puts me in a great mood. 🙂
I picked up an extra shift at the studio this morning and brought my lunch with me. I packed a big spinach salad with grape tomatoes, 1/3rd of an avocado and 1/3 block tempeh with balsamic vinegar:

Plus a Doctor Kracker flatbread hiding over to the left. And my favorite—

Ran errands, came home and had millet toast with almond butter and jam—

And then headed out for an hour bike ride! Its much easier for me to pack my bike in the car and drive to where I want to bike rather than finagling my way through traffic….makes training much less scary! So, I parked at Lake Sonoma today and did a big 15 mile loop around. Like running, the first couple miles are always the hardest!

The weather was the nicest but it still felt good to get outside….I just got back and ate a kiwi:

And I’m about to get ready…its going to be a fun night!
Hope y’all are doing well!

February 20, 2010 at 5:39 pmCongrats on 15 miles, wow. I can’t believe you eat kiwi’s with the fuzzy skin on, I can’t do it.

February 20, 2010 at 5:46 pmReading about your training makes me want to get a bike! Note to self: look into that! I’m so glad you’re feeling better; being sick is always the pits!

February 20, 2010 at 6:15 pmYou’re inspiring me to get back on my bike! It’s hard, now, because I live in the city. I’ll be in Napa this summer and I’m already looking forward to those long rides. Having such a nice bike but keeping it locked away in the city makes me feel so guilty.

February 20, 2010 at 6:16 pmmmmm fuzzy kiwis! You eat them like me 🙂 Enjoy your night!

February 20, 2010 at 6:26 pmSorry if you’ve already answered this somewhere, but how does millet bread taste compared to a regular, say, whole wheat bread? Is the texture different? Where do you buy yours? Thanks!
Natasha
February 20, 2010 at 6:26 pmJenna, what brand of millet bread do you get? Thanks!

February 20, 2010 at 7:15 pmI always eat the kiwi with the fuzz on! Apparently people think it’s strange? 😉 Good job on the bike ride today!! I LOVE Kombucha and grape is probably my favorite flavor next to guava. Delish! Have fun tonight!

February 20, 2010 at 7:18 pmYour kiwi looks delicious and hard core at the same time!!

February 20, 2010 at 7:20 pmGlad you are feeling better and had a great day!
I haven’t gotten back on my bike after my almost 1 mile that seemed to kill me! I don’t have clip in shoes, and don’t want them! I think my bike is a little too big for me! That is why it is so difficult!
I always peel my kiwi’s unless I am putting them in the vitamiix!
Can’t wait to hear about the rest of your day!

February 20, 2010 at 7:27 pmGlad to hear you’re feeling better!
15 miles sounds so intense! I went to spinning this morning. That’s the closest I’ll get to a bike! I’m terrified of riding a bike. I know how to, I just crash every time I ride one 🙁

February 20, 2010 at 7:29 pmGrape synergy is the BEST flavor! LOL Glad I’m not the only one who thinks so!

February 20, 2010 at 8:16 pmFirst of all, I’m glad you’re feeling better! I just had a quick question about “Millet Bread”…I’ve noticed on a lot of blogs lately…millet bread…what’s so special about it? Is it gluten free? Just wondering 🙂

February 21, 2010 at 12:22 amDo you eat you kiwi like an apple? How cool! I’ve never seen anyone do that before lol! It was only (literally) until about a week ago I realised you could even eat the skin – my mum always used to make me chop it off 🙁
Amazing!
Good job on the bike ride btw, you must’ve felt awesome after that 😀

February 21, 2010 at 3:23 amNice bike gloves! The kiwi looks juicy and delicious, but I still can’t eat the fuzzy skin *shudder* 😉

February 21, 2010 at 5:36 amBusy, busy day! But the bike ride sounds great! 😀 I totally agree that the first few miles are the toughest (except for the hills which are pretty tough too…haha 😀 )

February 21, 2010 at 7:38 amYou are really getting into the biking! Well done. I would love to get a bike but people here do not respect bike riders. I have a fear that I would end up road kill!

February 21, 2010 at 8:04 amI’m a bit out of the loop here, can someone fill me in on why jenna is now working in a yoga studio? Is this a second job or did she quit the vinyard?
