Hi everyone!
I’m VERY happy to tell you that I had a MUCH better day than yesterday. Thank goodness! Last night I went to bed at 6:45 (!!!) and felt very refreshed this morning after a good 8 hours of sleep. How crazy is that…I go to bed before most of you even eat dinner! I am 95 years old. Anyways! This morning I had another banana and peanut butter before work:
And more blueberry chocolate oatmeal AT work =)
My, how I just loooove those blueberries in my oatmeal! And I love that my bowl of oatmeal is so BIG and takes me my entire “lunch break” (how ironic haha) to eat! My boss calls me the oatmeal girl 🙂
After work I hung out for awhile and did some grocery shopping—nothing terribly exciting—just yogurts, veggie burgers and bread (of course!). When I got home, I made a grilled cheese sammie with my 100% whole wheat sunflower flax bread and one slice of pepperjack cheese. I had a cup of my favorite tomato soup on the side as well as a big ol’ cluster of grapes.
Mmm I love this bread that we make! It is LOADED with ground flax, whole flax seeds, sunflower seeds, honey and, of course, whole wheat goodness. It is a smaller loaf, which means smaller slices, but it is totally worth it because of the grainy crunch you get with every bite! Smaller slices = thicker slices in my book! 😉
This afternoon I’m going to run and then probably do a little yoga to ward off any sore muscles! Thank goodness tomorrow is FRIDAY!

February 12, 2009 at 2:59 pmhi jenna! (or anyone!)
just wondering, how do you feel about fage 0% vs. fage 2%? i accidentally bought the 2% yesterday instead of the 0 and LOVED IT but i’m not sure if the 0 is a better pick nutrition-wise?
thanks!

February 12, 2009 at 3:06 pmI don’t think you’re an “old person” for going to bed early – you get up at 3 a.m. for pete’s sake!

February 12, 2009 at 3:18 pmYou would probably the love the sunflower seed cookies I buy at Whole Foods! Gracie’s Best is the brand. They are small and sweet and sunflower-y! yum 🙂

Have a good day, Jenna!

February 12, 2009 at 3:21 pmThat bread sounds amazing. I often add flax seeds to my no knead loaf but have never tried grinding them first. How much do you add to a loaf?

February 12, 2009 at 3:58 pmMonica,
I honestly don’t know because I don’t do it! We have mixers that mix the bread and I form and bake the bread. We make about 50-100 lbs of dough at a time though so its on a huge scale!
Mags,
I honestly like the 2% better because its creamier! I think it has about 50 more calories but is definitely veryyyyy creamy! Nutritionally, either are great. One is just made with reduced fat milk and the other made with skim.
