I’m alive!
However, I feel like crap. Last night I felt awful so I tried to go to sleep at 9:30 and ended up laying in bed awake until 2:45…and then waking up again at 6:30. It’s that “I’m so tired that I can’t sleep” feeling…ugh. There’s definitely a funky virus going around here though and most of my friends are sick, too. I’m just glad we are all getting it out of our system before Tahoe next weekend!
This morning I wasn’t really hungry but I ate a little Optimum cereal in soymilk with a grapefruit:

Laid in my bed and tried to fall back asleep with no avail so I thought some fresh air might make me feel better and I walked to get some tea and attempt some writing at the coffee shop down the street. However, writing a book when your head is pounding and your eyes are sunken in your head is just no good.
However, finally around 11:00 I was hungry! I kept it simple with some yummy soup:

Plus a morningstar farms soy sausage and laughing cow cheese for a little protein.

Sort of a random combination but it was exactly what I felt like and for the first time in 24 hours I ate it all! My tummy is feeling okay right now but I’m just really drained. The only place I want to be is on the couch in my parent’s house watching the Olympics with Mikan and Dexter at my feet 🙁
Going to take it easy for the rest of the day. Probably will move camp to the laudromat in a little bit. Exciting!

February 19, 2010 at 11:42 amTomato soup is so comforting when you’re feeling under the weather. I love Amy’s tomato bisque (which I *think* is also sold under the TJ’s label). There’s nothin’ like doing laundry to feel productive. Feel better soon!

February 19, 2010 at 12:00 pmPlease feel better!
Whenever I get sick I too want to be at my parent’s house being comforted! Living across the country makes this a little difficult.. Granted, it’s freezing now on the east coast, so I think if I were not feeling well, I’d be better off here than there!

February 19, 2010 at 12:03 pmMiserable, so sorry. I had a night like that a few weeks ago where I felt SO exhausted and yet couldn’t sleep. I think that’s one of the worst feelings. I’m so sorry girl, rest up and drink those fluids!! Praying your body fights it off.

February 19, 2010 at 12:47 pmseriously..go get some zicam. it’s the best thing ever. everytime i feel like im getting sick, i started taking one of the dissolving tablets once every (however long they tell you..2…3 hours?) and it either makes it so i don’t get sick or that it’s pretty mild. seriously…a miracle! i have a weak immune system and this stuff has saved me! that plus emergen-c plus multi vitamins and I haven’t gotten sick once since i started law school in august. Yippee!

February 19, 2010 at 1:28 pmAh, I miss Morningstar soy sausage! I wish they would just make them vegan..the one ingredient in there that makes it non vegan friendly doesn’t even really effect the taste 🙁

February 19, 2010 at 7:40 pmI hope you feel better soon – it sure is no fun being sick. Of course, I remember last year I came down with strep throat and was told to take at least 3 days off of work because I was contagious. Well, by day 3 I was just itching to get out of the house because I was so bored! I think I read 2 books already and I felt okay.
I’m sure part of it was the fact that ice cream felt so good on my throat and I needed to get moving before I ate too much of it! LOL!
Get better soon!
