Uh Oh

Hey guys

So…bad news…..I think I might actually be getting really sick. I mentioned the other day how I had the horrible headache and while it did finally go away, today it came back full force along with feeling incredibly dizziness and lightheadedness…and there’s something iffy with my tummy. I hate to whine but I just have no energy and all I want to do is lay in bed. Actually, I DID end up laying in bed for most of the afternoon—it’s like this feeling like I’m about to be really sick but I’m not quite there yet. Oh boy.

And my appetite is really off. For lunch I had a hummus and avocado pita with a yogurt (didn’t finish the yogurt)

No snack and then dinner was very odd as well. I thought I should try to eat something substantial so I heated up some leftover veggie chili that I had made and froze a few weeks ago with a piece of millet toast with earth balance—

The toast tasted super delicious but I couldn’t stomach the chili at all. This was at 6:00. At 7:00 I thought maybe I should try again and just eat what I feel like so I had ANOTHER piece of toast, this time with peanut butter and raspberry jam:

And now I’m going to lay in bed and watch a movie…….I have a really bad feeling about tonight and I hope I’m wrong and I sleep really well and wake up feeling awesome tomorrow but I haven’t felt this “off” in a really long time so I think something is up. I’m pretty in tune with my body and something is definitely not right here but I can’t pinpoint it.

    hydrate and get plenty of sleep. sometimes the first signs of the flu can be vomiting or…butt vomiting! REST UP!

    Oh my – I hope that you feel better quickly! Toast and a day in bed are my stand-bys when I get sick – I always feel better after a day of rest and toast.

    I know this is totally not your situation but that is exactly how I felt when I was about 2 months pregnant. I had these horrible headaches (not prone to headaches at all) and also felt dizzy at times. Food was not appealing in the least the entire time I was pregnant (of course there was hardly any room b/c it was twins). I hope you feel better b/c I know exactly what you’re talking about- the only other headache I ever had that was worse was from caffeine withdrawal. I now take a daily vitamin c and haven’t been sick in like 4 years. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll feel better tomorrow.

    Ugh, the “I think I’m getting sick” feeling is the worst! Sometimes I think actually being sick is preferable…Get some sleep and have some toast and tea. Feel better!

    Take care of yourself. Have to say that’s one reason I think it’s better if coloring hair to do blond as dark color dye is very unhealthy. IMHO….there are non toxic ones at health food store/Whole Foods. I’m sensitive to everything so have to cut out all toxins…don’t even use non-organic household cleaners.I think all of that stuff is why cancer rates so high.

    I feel your pain…I woke up with two pink eyes this morning all good and swollen. All the yummy bites, and mint chocolate cookie fro yo in the world can change the way I feel today 🙁 It is hard not feeling like yourself, but as the old saying goes…this too shall pass. Get well girl, and rest up!!!

    I had symptoms VERY similar to yours last week and this week. One morning I physically could not get out of bed, and I was constantly lightheaded. It got so bad that I went to the doctor and she diagnosed me with VERTIGO (plus a virus)! She said that is why I was so dizzy / on the verge of passing out even when lying down. The only solution I found was to sleep for about a week straight. I hope that you take it easy, sleep a lot, and feel better soon! And if not, at least you can feel pretty exotic for having vertigo.

    Just a thought. . . you’ve been lucky to have access to so much gourmet, rich food since you moved and now you are “eating cleaner” which allows your body to do some cleansing . . . your symptoms sound like a cleanse, a detox. . . let’s hope that’s all it is.

    I had the same thought as #35 – it often helps me to give my body a rest from digesting so much food and eat liquids, smoothies and light soups so I can channel a lot of energy for healing. Totally helps me feel alive again when I’m in a funk.

    Oh no–hate that looming–I think I’m getting sick feeling. Almost worse than being sick is the dreading being sick.
    I will send you a cyber grass power smoothie to resolve all your worries—-****—-there you go. You will feel better! Just keep repeating that mantra.

    I had a similar problem a week ago. Strange, unsettling headaches all over my head, nausea and body aches. It was quite scary, but has thankfully passed. Sending good vibes your way!

    Hey Jenna,
    I hope you’re having a good sleep- we all feel icky sometimes. Keep positive about your getting better, and you will- be it with intervention from others or on your own. Way to take it easy and listen to your body. The weekend’s coming up and hopefully you can find time to rest and address whatever’s going on 🙂

    Oh you poor thing! I hope you wake up feeling better 🙁 Forcing yourself to eat will help though – when I was really sick I still tried to eat as much as possible, and I recovered far quicker than people who didn’t eat and had the same bug. Sleep well!!

    I actually JUST wrote a post basically about this the other day – listening to your body (http://briogusto.wordpress.com/2010/02/16/topical-tuesdays-on-listening-to-your-body/) – because I’ve been dealing with fighting off some illness as well. So far I’ve managed to do it….If you have time, take a read 🙂 Apparently there are viruses galore spreading like crazy right now.

    Rest, rest, rest, and feel better soon! I had a bug a couple weeks ago and it was no fun. I tried to do too much and just made it worse. Listen to your body – it knows what it needs.

    awww that sucks 🙁 I’d recommend (if u can find it) citron tea from an asn supermarket (it’s korean)- it was known as an antibiotic and very popular in asia!

    If it makes u feel better, I never do anything productive at all and sit all the time also 🙂
    That pita looks great. Avocado + hummus + bread = yum….and the earth balance + jam is a nice idea.

    Hoping you feel better. It sucks, but everyone is bound to get sick at some point. Eat up and try to be positive!

    Hope you aren’t getting flu-that’s what all my friends have now,but it’s one that doesn’t last too long.Just makes one feel really crappy for a week,

    Get yourself to the doctor, girl!! There is no shame in going to the doctor, don’t try to guess what this is or sit it out on your own, minor infections can quickly get out of hand if you don’t take care of them. I don’t want to scare you but, please, if you feel that bad, see a professional!

    Emergence! That’s all I can say…it’s prevented me from getting full-blown sick countless times. It’s right when I feel the tickle in my throat or my nose feeling off, I take it at night and in the morning and it’s warded off sickness so many times.

    Jenna, i think its soemthing going around. i felt exactally how you described this past weekend. its was a really bad head cold, runny nose, and then some. (waves of nausea and weird eating habits included). I am like you, i never get sick and this was a “weird” state for my body. I think it will pass in a few days. I reccomend emergen-C as well. I also take oscillococcinum – its homeopathic and avalible at local drug stores. I highly reccommend it.

    First of all – let me say that I’ve been following your blog for months and LOVE it! I too have had trouble fall/staying asleep at night. I was training for a marathon in June, 2009 and around that time notice that my sleep patterns became disturbed. I hated going to bed every night because I was afraid of having a bad night’s sleep. I used cognitive behavioral therapy, or retraining the way my mind thinks about sleep, to become a better sleeper again. Hopefully, this isn’t the case for you (it’s the worst!) but if it is, and you want any book recommendations for this, just let me know. Good luck!

    Yikes – getting sick is not fun, especially now that you’ve started training!

    Stay hydrated, get lots of sleep, make sure you take your vitamins, and listen to your body when it comes to exercise – you don’t want to make yourself worse!

    I’ve had that “off” feeling since the middle of December. I don’t feel sick, but I constantly feel like I’m just about to come down with something. There have been a couple of times where I’ve given in to it, but it never happens! I feel like I’m at 95% all the time….not that I want to get sick, but I want to feel back at 100%!!! Hope you feel better soon!
