Last night, after my glass of wine and my Amy’s Indian meal (that I topped with feta for no other reason other than the fact that the feta was soon to go bad and I didn’t want to waste good cheese!), I started to lick a cupcake.

My idea was just to take several licks of frosting and then the craving would surely pass and I could instead snack on healthier things such as yogurt, berries or a protein bar. But no. After three licks of frosting I decided to take a tiny nibble.

The tiniest of nibbles, really. However, that nibble turned into a bite and that bite turned into complete cupcake annihilation. It.was.so.good. I almost ate the other but it was already promised to the boy and I would feel bad eating all of his birthday cake.

I’m not going to lie; it was staring up at me and looking quite lonesome. I sighed and made some tea instead.
Breakfast was pretty typical….

April 21, 2010 at 9:50 amWhat makes the frosting grey/beige tinted? Looks delicious – all of it!

April 21, 2010 at 9:57 amI think everyone knows the feeling of thinking they’ll only juuust “sample” something, and then winding up going after it full-force. It’s like the more someone tries to stop, the more s/he objects to his/her own “denial” … but it suddenly helps to consider if the item does not actually belong to you — and then it seems that guilt restrains. Oh, psychology!

April 21, 2010 at 10:01 amI have no idea how you managed to stop at 1!!

April 21, 2010 at 10:24 amAs someone who has no self-restraint around cupcakes…I commend you for saving one for the boy. I would’ve eaten that one too and blamed the cat for its disappearance or something else equally ridiculous.

April 21, 2010 at 10:24 amI think it’s a rule that you’ve just got to eat cupcakes while they’re still fresh

April 21, 2010 at 11:07 amI am staring at a cupcake from some small child’s birthday here at school…and it is covered in PURPLE frosting…and I just want to lick it…but I’m scared that I will have a similar “must devour cupcake” reaction.
Veronica - Navy Wife on a Diet
April 21, 2010 at 11:13 amI love how you tore into that cupcake with so much satisfaction that you ripped the cupcake liner. Reminds me of cheesy romance novels where the super hot lover rips the lady’s bodice off.
Passion for cupcakes. Sounds like a food novel. Ever considered writing one of those?

April 21, 2010 at 11:29 amI really like the recent “changes” to your blog, if that’s what you really call them. I’ve been reading for almost 2 years now (since you were in cooking school?) and your most recent posts are funny, true, and a great glimpse of the real Jenna! And like others, I’m dying to see a photo of the boy! 🙂
Anyways, keep up the good work – you’re doing great things with your life -and everything will come when it’s supposed to.
By the way, I drink wine just about every day – for the antioxidants of course – haha!

April 21, 2010 at 11:31 amIt was teasing you. Heck it’s teasing me through the monitor and I would have to fly to California to get one.
